2482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA vs Zone Specific Strategies While Accumulation of Bitcoins on: October 19, 2023, 10:06:07 PM
So DCA is fine but you can simply enhance it with

Step ladder down buys at an exchange

and step ladder up sells at an exchange.

Along with a dca cash reserve.

Step 1 set up 100usd a week dca
step 2 set up a -15,-20,-25,-30 % buy for 250 + 250 + 250 +250

Step 3 set up a sell off ladder at levels like 72k 88k 101K 125K

Step 4 stack some case reserves 50 a week dca

so in a year

you purchase 5200 usd in btc
you may buy lump or not 1000 usd cash for lump buy's
you may sell lump or not 0.04 btc for up sales
and 2600 cash

this plan calls for 7800 dca in a year and 1000 + 1000 for possible swing up or swing down

and at the end of each year re evaluate your next years setup.

2484  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the fall of Elon Musk's empire imminent? on: October 19, 2023, 09:44:10 PM
There's a lot of talk that Elon Musk taking on huge loans to buy Twitter could backfire massively on him as Twitter keeps losing value. Essentially what Elon Musk did was to use up most of his assets in terms of stock like Tesla and SpaceX to try and secure assets for his twitter loan. He's now so tied up in this Twitter debt, that if something goes wrong it could trigger a domino of effects.

So he essentially already pledged tons of money to secure loans to buy Twitter, but his executive decisions lead to massive drops in value. Late last year he posted a lot of Tesla shares to avoid a margin call from banks that had loaned him to buy Twitter but this could potentially mean that if Tesla shares fall in price also, Musk could be losing his empire... Eventually, and potentially if things go wrong, losing his position as CEO in both Twitter as well as Tesla.

What are your thoughts on this? Is Musk about to lose it all?

It would be nice to see him fall apart and decide to hang himself. But it is not likely as he is in the too big to fail area.
2485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Lump sum Vs DCA" for Bitcoin Accumulation on: October 19, 2023, 05:57:02 PM
DCA is good, but there are sometimes that you will leave DCA alone and invest big amount. Let us say that you have been DCAing since some months ago and the price of bitcoin within one week fall to $20000, if you have money that you can use to invest at once, you will not hesitate but invest it immediately becuase you have speculated that bitcoin price may not fall further.

DCA is good when you do not know if the price of bitcoin will not increase or decrease. Or if you do not have enough money to invest at once.

You may invest at once if you analyzed the price of bitcoin is low already.

Investors may go for either of the two, it is what the price of bitcoin is at that will determine that.

There is also a time that investing is not good, when bitcoin has increased significantly several times.

If you are doing a 100$ a week DCA that is 5200 in a year. and 10,400 over 2 years.

You should have a 2 shot lump sum set up.  say 2600 two times  or a possible 5200.

If you get a 15% drop or a 20% drop do the 1 shot.  Hold the other back

2487  Bitcoin / Hardware / testing epic controller. on antminer s19xp on: October 19, 2023, 04:25:50 AM
power setting is at 120th

meter set at 12:06 am

970.37 kwatts

I will post back with wattage in the morning.

972.81 kwatts at 1.06 am

so 2.44 kwatts to do 120th.

20.33 watts a th

I will get more readings in the morning.

9:06   993.17 kwatts

22.80 kwatts in 9 hours is

22.80/9 =2.5333 kwatts for 120 th

or   2533/120= 21.11 watts a th

now that is not much if any power saved from the rated 21 watts a th.

but I have 100% instant fan control.

So my fans are set to 61% about 4900 rpm

which in my garage means I do not hear them.

So this board allows you to run the s19xp in your garage. Without a lot of noise.

update

1016.59 kwatts at 6:06.  pm
  970.37 kwatts at 12:06 am

46.22 kwatts in 18 hours  = 2567 watts an hour

2567/120 =21.39 watts. it is interesting to see the high end meter rates 21.39 watts a th

the software reads 23.8 watts a th

So I tuned at 120 th for 18 hours and basically it gives me no increase in efficiency but it let me lower fans to 61% and noise in the garage is okay

New  tune is set for 70 th  lowest setting is 60th

70 th looks like this so far

at 8:00 pm. k-watts are 1019.30
at 10:00 pm K-watts are 1022.31             3010 watts

1505/70 = 21.50 watts

I will post back on this.

At midnight I set it to  110 th

1025.78 12 am
1048.35 9 am

22.57 kwatts in 9 hours 2507 watts an hour

so 2507/110 = 22.79 watts a th.

So the epic on down clocks does not seem to lower power use but it easy peasy allows fan controls

now I do have 2 shitty chips on this xp that tend to drop out on this xp. Today I am going with an up clock

this is a 135th machine I will try 145th

I am doing a no tune setting

freq 475
power 13 v
fans 80%
all manual setting

2488  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Arabic Hawala System - Money Transfers - Average Transfers Amount - Fee - No KYC on: October 19, 2023, 04:02:02 AM
There is multi million private money transfer system in arab countries without any KYC from person to person etc. But what is average transfer amount in this system and transfer time. Also transfer fee ? And in which countries this system is working - also USA, UK through arab communities ? Which currency this system use for transfers - probably local in each country.  Grin

There is a system in New Jersey. Its called a jersey handshake 🤝 if you watch the movie 🎥

Very funny this Joeyp troll. Next time I hope he opens a thread saying that Satoshi will probably be arrested and extradited to China.  Grin

OP, do you challenge yourself to write most absurd thread on Meta board? This thread is absurd even compared with your other threads.

With the time I've been on the forum I've noticed that the moderators, I guess following orders from theymos, are quite respectful with criticism, even if it's a criticism as poor as this one. What is clear is that the OP's argument has a false basis. China is not even going to bother to send a subpoena to arrest theymos, if anything it will try to control access for its citizens, as has been said. The fact that there is a Chinese sub-forum means nothing, as it can be frequented by millions of Chinese living in other countries where bitcoin is legal and access to bitcointalk is legal.

Or is the Chinese government going to arrest and extradite the leaders of the other countries where Chinese citizens live, and where bitcoin and access to bitcointalk are legal? It does not make sense.

I am eagerly awaiting his next thread. They have brilliantly written if they are acting.

I am pretty convinced both him and badecker are writing speculative fantasy as truth which is very hard to do.  Hey Joeyp whats next.
2490  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance's Growing Legal Troubles: Are They Facing a Crisis? on: October 19, 2023, 03:28:32 AM
While concerning, I don't think Binance is on a hot bed right now, especially when you consider the fact that BNB isn't even a security. SEC is pretty much throwing whatever they can to undermine the cryptocurrency scene in the US in favor of their CBDC, which is arguably inferior and less enticing than the superior cryptocurrency system that we have built for over a decade. Binance is going to weather the storm and gain traction once again the US. and if it couldn't, it's not going to be much of a problem, especially now that the US economy is on the shitbox so they can't really provide as much financial upturn for Binance. China is the name of the game now, as well as other neighboring countries, should we see changes in the outlook of China towards crypto, we can pretty much disregard this whole SEC conundrum altogether.

Well the sec lost against ripple. based on that case I could agree with you that bnb is not a security.

but binance may need to go to court to win out.
2491  Other / Meta / Re: Local China Subforums - Admin Probably Will Be Arrested And Transfered To China on: October 18, 2023, 04:19:14 PM
There are local China subforums in Bitcointalk and Bitcoin have total ban in China, so forum admin probably will be arrested and transfered to China in future. Possible crime type - Bitcoin promoting for China people. What do you think ?

OP, do you challenge yourself to write most absurd thread on Meta board? This thread is absurd even compared with your other threads.

China as the state can ask to transfer persons from other countries - USA, India, Russia etc. in criminal cases, it depends from international agreements and local Chinese criminal law.

Other country would just laugh at request of arrest & transfer admin of Bitcointalk.

I agree with this 100% Joeyp is a speculative fiction writer practicing his craft I wonder if his entire plan it to out badecker at badeckering.

I don't know if it can be done but I now look forward to what new and wild idea Joeyp will do next.
2492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Comparing Bitcoin Nodes on: October 18, 2023, 02:23:54 PM
thebitcoinhole.com launched a new section: "Bitcoin Nodes". We compare different Bitcoin Nodes, feature by feature. You can filter, sort and compare.

https://thebitcoinhole.com/bitcoin-nodes

We also created an open source Github repo with all the bitcoin nodes data, so anyone can help to fix the data or suggest new additions

https://github.com/thebitcoinhole/bitcoin-nodes

I took a quick look and you are selling them. This means it is not a discussion thread but more of a sales advertisement.

We do have a marketplace section.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0

I think it belongs there.
2493  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2023 Diff thread now opened. on: October 18, 2023, 02:19:05 PM
last jump happened 35 minutes ago.   it would round to +6.47% which would mean :
slot 31) +6.27 to +6.59% would be the winner. as +6.47 is included in that range.

I was going to say, 6% after 6.4% is ....<insert whatever here>

And right now I said to myself, let's look at the mempool now that the dif adjusted and blocks are slower only to find out they are not and :

Quote
Current Pace:   105.0101%  (300 / 285.69 expected, 14.31 ahead)

2 days into the adjustment and we're at 5% up?
Let's assume from the start this is not luck (I'm still 99.9% sure it is) how could one explain a 12% growth in two weeks?
Cooling, ok, totally probably, but why would this still affect it by such a percentage when common, last Sunday there was already a maximum of 23C in Houston , (73F I guess), NY which is by Foundry numbers at 20% of the hashrate in the US hasn't seen over 23C since the 5th. I doubt there is a need for cooling in Russia or Kazakhstan and that however mines in the Middle East or Ecuator would still had problems in mid October.

Of course, Mikey knows better but still color me surprised to have such a growth spanned over an entire month from bad designed cooling.
Again, this whole thing will be invalidated if in two days we go flat back to 0%.

Anyhow, when the game begins I'm going to pick something just above zero, 6% is beyond my comprehension capabilities!

There are a lot of small commercial mines.

In the 200-500 kwatt range I am one of them.

Most of us can’t cool properly and when the temps go over 95f or 36c we have to shut gear off.

The reason this happens is our good power deals come with conditions. Ie my mine has space restrictions so I cant cool like I know how to.

We finally grabbed a mining box which will allow to not down clock in the summer.  This last summer I shut my six whatsminers off around ten times for about eight hours each time.

Now I can run every piece of gear and I can add 559 th due to the cool weather.

so 3.7ph in the summer which I would drop to 3.1 ph when a hot day. is now 4.3 ph

so I am up 18% on 3.7 and I am up 33% over the 3.1ph.

wow speculative fiction is a term i havent heard for a long time. it evokes memories the of early science fiction magazines from back in the day that i used to read.

but badecker is more fantasy than speculative.

Well I tried to write speculative and it auto corrected to spectacular. YET you magically know this and wrote speculative. this is the Badecker influence at its best.😀

……  I don't know, but I don't care how outrageous BADecker's (or anyone else's) conspiracy theories are; they should be debunked instead of censored.
…..

Agreed, albeit, after awhile, debunking the plethora of BADecker nonsense on this forum over the years is like beating a dead horse.
The plus side being I get a good laugh from his lunacy, when I actually, for whatever reason, click on one of his ridiculous threads.

I love to read badecker he hits all the good ones. With an absolute belief in what he says.

Now I know I could write ✍️ a lot and wild crazy shit if I want to but it would be a joke a goof. Sooner or later someone would figure out that I am spoofing.

To this day I am not short if badecker is a sincere believer or a spectacular fiction writer.

Which is why he should get a special title.

2497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think? Selling all or not on: October 18, 2023, 03:52:56 AM
Have seen a lot of threads talking about the bull market, and everyone making comments.
I don't think selling all bitcoin in the bull market is a good idea. Why? Knowing the fact that the next bull price will still come as bitcoin continues to grow, so I don't think selling all my bitcoin in the bull market is the best.
Everyone is holdle bitcoin in the bear market and planning to sell in the bull market, now, when finally, the bull market  comes should I sell all my bitcoins and prepare to accumulate from afresh in the next bear market again? or should I keep some percentage to continue the accumulation?

Well if you are 20 or 25 you dont need to sell all at say 80k If we get there.

but if you are 65 and have 4 btc selling all if we get to 80k is not terribly stupid.

Logic is 260k sale at the age of 65  is enough to help you enjoy your senior years.

I am 66 I sold a decent amount each day we went over 60k in 2021 .

did not sell it all. as I like being in btc.

well buddy popping 28.5 is better than buddy popping 26.5.

today has been a fun day. I picked up.

1 s19pro 110th
1 s19xp 136th
1 s19xp 141th
1 s19.      96th
1s19.       96th.

total hash is 559th. mine moves to 4.2ph along with L7 and some gpus

burning about 210kwatts. very near max capacity.

but we are negotiating for a 500kwatt transformer so we can run 3 tesla super chargers.

If we get it we can do about 150kwatt of it for mining and still have the power for the chargers.

Ps took my dementia suffering bro-in-law to a doctor which makes the trip to the gear guy free. as he is six miles from my bro-in-law.

Fire them up and let them run! Clear this dam mempool!

Fired up the 2 s19xp's will test with stock firmware then use a special motherboard in them.

The Chinese government can't arrest anyone here because the forum is under US jurisdiction. But it can try to restrict access to its citizens, as the Russian government has done by restricting its citizens' access to the forum.
China as the state can ask to transfer persons from other countries - USA, India, Russia etc. in criminal cases, it depends from international agreements.

Yeah they can and they will be refused as that forum is not against USA law.

Now if that forum section constantly promotes illegal shit like child sex which is not legal in USA 🇺🇸 or China 🇨🇳 the us may go after the person running the section.

Some shit is not legal anywhere and the USA 🇺🇸 would likely say here is this pedophile that was promoting child sex in china 🇨🇳 and BTW you have a person in china 🇨🇳 doing something bad lets swap them.
