881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strike has launched in Argentina on: January 12, 2022, 03:43:40 PM
I did not know about Strike but after reading about it I did find it really cool! Since most wallet, like the one am using does have lightning network but they don't really allow buying and selling and then you have to send it to a normal one and it's apparently very costly moving them around. I wonder how positively would it be taken overall, this would be so much better than normal wallets since :
The fee would be so low
It would be instant
But on the other hand I wonder if it would be safe enough to be used for bigger transactions as well. Right now the market is also down which does mean that it would be a great time to invest. Plus I do think it would also make the whole lightning network have some positive advancements. Also their expansion is underway which does mean that we will be seeing a much bigger and better system connecting more economies and countries as well.
882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling for the rich who can afford to lose ? on: January 12, 2022, 03:07:14 PM
Since the wake of cryptocurrencies the gambling market have made their huge mark in this section and which enabled people to gamble with as little as a dollar or cent! There are so many things that can be done on a new gambling website now. You can even gamble using promos, have some extra money from doing small jobs, campaigns and such etc . So many people are now able to gamble even if they are not rich. The whole idea is taking care of their wealth. They have to be extra careful with how much money they are spending and how they are spending it. It's not for the rich, it can be used for entertainment for quite a lot of time for middle class as well.
883  Economy / Economics / Re: Only 3 hedge funds outperformed the S&P in 2021 on: January 11, 2022, 06:56:15 PM
I do think that we cannot compare the hedge fund value to the overall economic progress. At the end of the day the hedge fund might be performing extremely well, but at the same time the whole investment might be suffering. Buying shares of hedge funds is quite complex, the structure is more focused on short term selling. This does mean that it would still be a worse investment as compared to* bitcoins*

The volatility in this sense is extremely important and it's not really a probelm showing how the volatile assets can outperform the short stable ones and cause the investors to get plenty of profits during the pandemic. But then again for me I prefer investing in Bitcoins. They are far better than hedge funds personally speaking, most of the people I know are earning tremendously from those tho.
884  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IS it possible to let your BTC work for you ? on: January 11, 2022, 06:18:49 PM
Lending?
I don't know what you mean by lending in a wallet where KYC is not required that would be extremely *careless* if you are lending your coins then you have to understand that the wallet needs a lot of security checks for both parties and that's the only way to go.

Other than that there are general wallet which are functional without KYC but they do not really have lending options available for example : Samourai.

Plus do not lend your coins at a place which does not require any KYC it's not really safe!! It might be a scam as well.
885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Pros and Cons of Gambling on: January 11, 2022, 04:44:59 PM
I do think everyone knows the major pros and cons of gambling. The worst being the addiction, which is to be taken utmost care for at the end of the day people gamble, during the pandemic, during the economic instability the numbers have risen above the normal ones, there are countries who were against gambling, they are the one's making it legal now to earn more taxes. See the thing is, this is the time when people are not financially stable and this is also the time that they are gambling the most. I do think we have to realize that Gambling sometimes is an escape, people wish they would win lotteries and live their life happily. But that doesn't happen and they end up loosing a lot over time. It's a sport, meant to entertain you, should be left at that.
886  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter McCormack: 'Bitcoin has WON the war on money'. Do you agree? on: January 11, 2022, 03:42:49 PM
I am not really sure that people do understand what the war on fiat really is? It's the far on the whole economy. The economy governed by the government. I do think that we have to look at the graph and look at the value of fiat during the pandemic and that's when it mattered, people save a lot of fiat in their bank accounts to only realize that they don't own their money for real.
With Bitcoins, it's a money that's *really yours* plus it's a fine asset, even the volatility is something that helps people along the way, during the low prices people generally buy more and at the end they sell when the prices are generally normal, using them as a currency is something that people don't usually do. Therefore we cannot be certain regarding it's use as a currency right now, we still have lot of time to see if it works.
887  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Teaching your kids to gamble. on: January 10, 2022, 06:40:02 PM
Teaching your kids to Gamble??
Kids??
This is honestly the most inappropriate thing that I have ever heard. Teaching them the pros/cons and at the same time educating them safely if the parents do find them engaged in something like that might be a better option but we have to definitely define the kids here that we are talking about. It's about addiction as well, additionally it's pretty a vast subject to talk about. Therefore they have to be mentally ready as well, age difference as well as their understanding matters a lot!
888  Economy / Economics / Re: Akon City.Is Wakanda the real world version? Can it help the African economy? on: January 10, 2022, 05:35:15 PM
I am quite impressed by couple of cities all around the world, like when we talk about a city called auroville in India, they don't even have a currency there, so many people from so many nationalities and so many states are living peacefully since 1968. The whole idea of me Stating that is : To organize the thoughts in direction of how these cities with a different, a very different organization and body can function well, way better then the current government. I don't know, no one really knows if the city would be a success but there is no harm trying, there is actually harm in not trying therefore at the end of the day, I do believe that, these things would work well and make at least a couple of changes for sure.
889  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is for everyone but not everyone will be for Bitcoin on: January 10, 2022, 03:54:28 PM
That's exactly what it is for most people since everything that is necessary to earn is governed by money. People don't even have right to education. They spend so much time to get a good job just to pay their loans off. With Bitcoins the situation is similar to any asset. People cannot afford to invest until and unless they are financially stable and during covid it's a major issue since the jobs are in a bit of a crunch ad well. Therefore what people choose to do is invest in Altcoins. They are more affordable and oftentimes it's a wager that doesn't work well. That's just how it is unfortunately, it's always been that way, the economy is struggling and it's most of the times governed by rich people.
890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone will receive a paper wallet in their post. Then what? on: January 09, 2022, 06:18:31 PM
This would be extremely weird, not impossible for sure since people already use posts to deliver very important stuff but then again, what if they get lost/stolen/unaccounted for? See the thing is people use post because at the end of the day they have no better options, therefore you, using a paper wallet would mean you have no other option, but guess what? You do! You do have other options here and you can very easily use a hardware wallet or even download one in a matter or seconds, use an online one or numerous other ways to send/recieve the bitcoins. It would not make more aware, it would actually only be use by very small percentage of people and that too would be taking quite a risk, if they sending huge sums in the paper wallets.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 09, 2022, 05:45:33 PM
<....... what if the Warriors will mess up because they'll give more shooting opportunity for Thompson and the latter will not make his shot? >

That's possible, and now with the hype to see him playing again, it's also possible that everyone will be betting on the Warriors to win. We have to consider as well that the Cavaliers is a good team, they are doing pretty well so far so the high spread that they have now maybe a gift for bettors who trust if indeed Klay will mess up.

Thompson have the best shooting record ever. The western conference leaders, ran by Steph Kurry has his splash brother back to the court tonight, I don't expect too many minutes from Thompson after his absence of two years. But I hope to see, a shooting clinic from the duo for sure.

Although, the Cavs have been playing extremely well this season and I expect an upset for Thompson's return. I feel the height of the Cavs will be the decided factor and although Thompson is 6.7 which will add some height to the warriors, with no real centres I think the Cavs will dominate in the paint.

Long awaited return for Thompson and every NBA fan will be watching in anticipation. #dubcity #splashbros

892  Economy / Economics / Re: The crisis in Kazakhstan. Entering the occupation troops. Impact on the crypto on: January 09, 2022, 05:21:25 PM
It's so unfortunate to see what's happening in there even more unfortunate to witness, I wonder what people might be thinking, as a matter of fact they might be using cryptocurrencies like bitcoins as an escape, the government is done for and the troops are unnecessary!! Where is the UN when the attention is needed? There would definitely be a huge impact hands down, since the situation is not improving we might see the hash rate going down pretty soon, with the low hash rate, other countries will recover this  soon enough but the what we should be talking about is how the cryptos can help them during the crisis, the cryptos are not controlled by any government, cryptos like bitcoins there in few months, this might be a very important asset for them. Hope things get better with them soon.
893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a commodity market ? on: January 09, 2022, 04:50:08 PM
It's not just production but at the same time there are other things as well, one cannot just strike aside things like :
- economic situation of the country
- the world's probelms like the pandemic
- the availability of goods or resources in that particular place
There are so many things! How you evaluate bitcoins is actually not something that simple, bitcoins is very different that traditional things, plus it depends on person to person. For me it's more like an asset than an actual commodity. It's better as a store of value. That again depends from person to person as well. Value is entirely personal as well.
894  Economy / Economics / Re: Euro zone inflation hit a new record high of 5% in December on: January 09, 2022, 04:16:18 PM
Inflation is a necessary evil. But more than 10%?? This will not only break the whole economy but at the same time the governmental system will collapse harder than anything. There are many things wrong as we know it but controlling inflation seems to be something that government is not being able to do. Honestly it's only going to be bad for the middle class people because the government will still get taxes and revenues they are not letting people off the hook for that, are they now. Plus it's even worse with the pandemic since people don't have a job anymore, most of them are fighting for their rights as well, people are resigning, not all the countries do get money from the government as well, only the very developed ones are capable of doing that.
895  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: monitoring social trends related to bitcoin is reliable? on: January 09, 2022, 03:46:44 PM
Social trends simply summarize the statistics of something that is talked about a lot. It's not just about price increases, sometimes there are incidents happening around the world that are linked to other things (using tags) that actually have no effect or affected. You also have to be more careful with new coins, their social trend is just a pump and dump scheme.

Market trends are different from social trends, their statistics are generated using a different approach.

At the same time there is no way to figure out how many people there are holding bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies for real, if they are just posting about it, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are reliable or even the people are reliable. There is one thing that we know about social media and it's not to rely on it especially for big market decisions. What you can monitor is :
Decisions
News
At the end of the day it's everyday that people find a website which promises many things but at the same time it does not really sit well with the people. Stay away from scams at the end of the day and make your decisions on your own.
896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 06, 2022, 06:47:34 PM
I think at the end of the day it's just lack of education. The lack of education stirs up the fake rumors and make people believe that anything new, anything non traditional is going to be disappointing, most of the people also hate the fact that now the prices are too high to make an investment so therefore they try and invest in other Altcoins, then they end up following people like Elon Musk and sometimes end up getting scammed as well.

I don't think that anyone would be against bitcoins if they would own it, if someone is seeing constant growth and profits I don't think they would be against anything for that matters. It's all about non traditional forms of investments now, that's what's gonna get everyone out of the economic collapse, that's long due, because of the pandemic.
897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Average gainer gambler on: January 06, 2022, 05:55:23 PM
In my locality maximum people are losser. A few people has  gained in gambling. But who has entered in gambling never give up actually. In anyhow they manage money and placed bet. Actually how many percent people overall gainer in gambling? Betting sites day by day gradually getting richer. The Owner of bet365 is one of the top richest person in England.

I honestly don't know about anyone who have actually gained something in Gambling, there are people with wins every once in a while but there are literally none with consistent gains which inturns brings me to my conclusion that it's only a gain for people who are investors or the people who own a gambling business. Most of the casinos are flourishing right now because of the COVID, the government is finding it easier to get taxes from there as well. There are countries legalizing crypto gambling sites just for revenues !! So I do think right now is an amazing time to own a crypto casino or invest in one.
898  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID has driven Americans to bank $1.6 TRILLION in savings on: January 06, 2022, 03:52:34 PM
I don't understand how would it work ?
At the end of the day people are saving nothing but fiat and at the same time, the government is lacking the whole system connected with the economy, therefore as long as the money is in the bank they can use it as they please and therefore it's better to hold those savings in other currencies like bitcoins, but then again it's volatile thus scares people Incase something bad happens, I am pretty sure there are many people buying gold as their savings as well, especially in countries like India. But I do think they are doing it the wrong way if they are holding it in banks. Banks don't have economic security right now.
899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: if bitcoin was main currency, what's gonna be the BTC value? on: January 06, 2022, 02:54:10 PM
Stable coins are only good for trading.
The reason why someone might not be using normal USD and using stable coins like usdt instead of just paying in general currency is weird. They can very easily use the pegged currency. Rest if bitcoin was the main currency then it would be acting much like other major fiat currencies, like dollars or Euros. Plus it would also be less volatile, the volatility would increase in the first session when the currency would be widely accepted but slowly it would decrease and become constant to cater to the need since a currency should be : widely accepted and non volatile to fill roles of fiat worldwide.
900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 05, 2022, 06:48:18 PM
Michele Pereira, this man is honestly built different, I think he would finish in one round with a barrage, with strikes, kicks, elbow, knees or whatever he can do to knock out his opponent. The main event is nothing special to the upcoming event for the rest of the January, but I expect Kattar to come out and try to prove himself after his devastating lost with Holloway, if that doesn't go as planned then it might be begining of the ending for Kattar. Therefore I do think that this week's main event won't be special but I would be looking forward to the co-main event more. It might decide the future for Kattar though. ((Not the most exciting cards that we might have for the January but might be some knockout for sure)) Keep your eyes for news on Dustin Poirier vs Nate Diaz, hopefully this fight can finalize, what do you think ?
