If it was an accident, it's extremely odd that it fits.  If it was an accident, Brennan will take a second oath, WITH the Bill of Rights.

But it still wouldn't matter, because they all will ignore it and lie through their teeth, even if they can recite the whole thing from memory Tongue

3825  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When we hit 21million and all the miners leave, who will confirm transactions? on: March 10, 2013, 06:11:27 AM
But the transaction fees are practically nothing, how will this validate the massive energy requirement need to validate a transaction? And dont transactions require more resources to validate as the blockchain grows longer?

Someone else can probably answer this better than me.  The first question, assumes bitcoin is worth enough to make mining worth it, which all depends where Bitcoin sits by the time every coin has been minted.  If it's not profitable, many miners will stop, leaving more reward for those who keep going, until it becomes profitable again.
3826  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When we hit 21million and all the miners leave, who will confirm transactions? on: March 10, 2013, 06:01:59 AM
I believe the miners still get bitcoins from the transaction fees, even if they're not minting anymore.
3827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [VIDEO] - RT's Max Keiser goes wild for Bitcoin on: March 10, 2013, 05:51:50 AM
I wonder what Max Keiser will be saying if Russia were to take a stance against bitcoin....I'm sure his spiel would change to something like "Bitcoin designed by evil fatcats in Washington blah blah blah blah..."

believe it or not RT isn’t that bad, there are occasional pro Russia type propaganda pieces, but they do report all the same Russian scandals and alike that the BBC n that cover, they don’t censor like the BBC do that’s for sure.

Have you actually ever sat down and watched RT for any length of time (ie a couple of hours).  It's absolutely 95% propaganda garbage, with the 5% being about ridiculously inconsequential local Russian news pieces, such as a donkey hot dog eating contest attended by 50 people dressed in burlap stacks in Siberia.

EVERY story mentions the US or UK or EU in a negative manner.  Even stories that you start off thinking "at least this story can't be about the US" end by being about the US.

Story: Earthquake in Haiti; US fault.

Story: AIDs in Africa; US fault.

Many hotels here (in Thailand) have really crappy free satellite service, so whenever I'm on holiday I end up getting stuck watching RT.  The stories are so ridiculous that I watch it for the laughs.

I'm not saying any other news services are great and true, but RT is straight up garbage.

Well, America wanted to be the center of the world...so now it is Tongue Along with its older cousins.

1. Convert fiat into coin
2. Invest in mining hardware
3. Work for them

this might be a stupid question but what is fiat?

and who do you work for

Fiat is government issued money, like the American dollar and the British pound.  I do freelance artwork for Bitcoin, you can find my thread in my signature Smiley

3833  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: March 10, 2013, 01:44:42 AM
I guess there's no way around it.  Capitalism = crime enabling = gun violence.  So gun control of any sort just leads to normal people being accused of crime, and thus they become criminals.  Freedom of all weaponry is just as scary.  Of course, those who enjoy their guns know why it's important to keep guns free; whenever anyone finally decides to make the first move against the terrorists in the WH, having even fire power against the offense is vital to actually winning the battle.  However, instituting a ban on certain weaponry wouldn't stop someone from getting it if they really wanted to get it.  So it's clear: the gun debate isn't actually about guns, it's about stopping the gov from procuring all control over resistance to tyranny, which a ban on guns would do, as those who are above the law still have the right to the banned guns and can still take out American citizens easily.  Problem is, it still doesn't solve crime, and never will.  The only solution to crime is to remove incentive to commit crime, which requires people to abandon any hope of becoming wealthier than someone else.  I don't see that happening in my lifetime Sad

3836  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Gun freedom advocates - what weapons shouldn't be legally available? on: March 09, 2013, 08:55:18 PM
I think only weapons used for self defense should be legally available.  Nobody needs to defend themselves against an onslaught of attackers with an automatic assault rifle Tongue  That's a weapon for killing, not defense.

Because criminals only EVER work alone. Yep.

And actually an automatic assault rifle is a weapon for missing "the enemy" most of the time, and getting "the enemy" to duck, cover, and retreat. In reality, it's called suppressive fire, not "when you absolutely positively have to kill everyone in the room" fire.

You have a point!  I'm not very good with guns so forgive me Grin  But point remains, if you're ever in need of an assault rifle, you should probably just move to a better place.

Then again, I also advocate an unregulated market...  I don't know what to believe anymore!

I love this guy Grin  He gets excited about something and doesn't bother to hide it.  But that makes him honest; he feels strongly for Bitcoin, and rightly so.

Your avatar is both scary and awesome

Ha ha thank you Grin  The full version is on my digital art thread Smiley
