1621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: newbie question - buy/sell diff on: June 16, 2016, 11:51:04 AM
stupid question, probably. On YoBit, sometimes there is a small difference between the 'buy' and the 'sell' price, and sometimes there is a huge diff between them.

I don't understand what drives the difference between the 'buy' and the 'sell' price.  I can see the sell orders, and when one of them is used up, the price increases a little bit. Why don't the buy orders match? ie if the buy price goes up by 2 sats, why doesn't the sell price goes up 2 sats?

trading for dummies 101?

The buy and sell price is everytime different not only in bitcoin but in all currencies, stock market etc. If the buy price and sell price matches then it will be sold/bought (the transactions will happen) and the difference will still appear if the sell order or buy order is greater.
1622  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.006 Bitcoin loan on: June 15, 2016, 05:10:36 PM
I had a data failure, loosing my adress's, however, I think I may a private key to one of these stored somewhere on a usb drive. I will look for it and report back shortly.
I recovered one address so far, its

1Q2UNtHYo2DDP5jLNxq3S2yTTGzXfqGvJh

I am unsure if I ever used it on this forum before though.

I was able to find only 8 bitcoin address including the one posted in the main post. Why I'm trying to say is that people are afraid to loan to users that do not have a valid signed message, even if it is valid it should be old enough to not risk the loan amount. The last address that you posted is not associated with any account so better check all your addresses or try to give a valid collateral, otherwise I doubt people will lend in this way.
1623  Economy / Economics / Re: Are the cloud mining sites to go scam? on: June 15, 2016, 05:04:31 PM
Just a thought,

After bitcoin halving , the block reward will be reduced to half. So the profit will be decreased by 50% for miners.

Right?

Then what about the mining companies like hashocean? Will they shutdown?

Replies are welcome.

Ps: Correct me if I'm wrong on any thought.

We can't say that all of them will turn to scam their users but it is highly recommended to not invest there anymore, withdraw all the money that you have there if you can but if you can't you can just hope to get your money back and if any little profit. I'm afraid that the payment from these cloud mining websites will be delayed first and then not paying(scamming)
1624  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 0.006 Bitcoin loan on: June 15, 2016, 04:40:53 PM
I'm looking for a Bitcoin loan of 0.006 btc.

I have a vps with a due bill soon, I already scaled down the vps so it won't cost as much to renew it.

I signed a message with this message:

Quote
June 15th 2016 I need a loan of 0.006 BTC to pay for my vps.

The address is 14UwjNugh949MEtjJ1Q4emj8EjBEHkJzsJ and the signature is H/aN00mKgxpjnH7uJYDN5ucKdVWo7HcyiUTaqC13fCDWSzyfxzOQxxnZArUcNMNrfvOt1PFqKsnlH2zJu68GiAU=

I want the loan to be sent to 14UwjNugh949MEtjJ1Q4emj8EjBEHkJzsJ

I will be paying off the loan with money from my signature campaign, I will be repaying 0.007 on 6/22/16 or sooner.

The address that you posted is a new address(First Seen at May 25, 2015), i checked your past address posted here in forum and here are the results:
So it is highly suggested that you can sign sign from an older address for example that from February or March:

1625  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin affects life a lot on: June 15, 2016, 04:37:25 PM
I can say that bitcoin has changed my life a bit because I'm now bitcoin addicted and on of the most first thing that i do in the morning is checking the bitcoin price and then reading the news about bitcoin. Also I have learned many new things about bitcoin and about blockchain, the concept how it works and yeah it affected my life.
1626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you "manipulate" the price of bitcoin? on: June 15, 2016, 04:17:11 PM
It seems commonly accepted among bitcoiners that wealthy individuals or cartels can "manipulate" the price of bitcoin. However, it is never explained how they supposedly do this. Every brainstorm I've come up with simply results in the supposed manipulators losing more money than they make if they tried to artificially drive the price of bitcoin away from the equilibrium free market price.

So I'd like to ask those who believe in price manipulation for an explanation (as well as evidence and examples) of how this manipulation supposedly works, in such a way that the wealthy manipulators don't fritter away their wealth in the attempt.

People with <100BTC or <1000BTC don't have too much power to manipulate the price. Neither those like me that have very low amount of bitcoin. What we can do is only to dump the price on particular exchanges (not those that are popular) and manipulate a specific altcoin price (only dumping)
1627  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin News: Android App on: June 15, 2016, 04:12:24 PM

Our system uses a bot to find scans the internet for updated news only of bitcoin related articles must like google scanning the net for everything.

Note: App will be upgraded with more features over time

- Enjoy

Seems a good app, a webview app, but i would like to give you some suggest from a basic user prespective and as a developer. Try to make a better UI and UX. Allow the reader to favorite the articles so he can later check back his/her favorites news. So basically a settings menu with favourie, notifications would be awesome, let's your users know when there is a popular article.
1628  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you like to receive your salary in BTC? on: June 15, 2016, 12:46:38 PM
If you are a BTC lover, would you one day like to get your paycheck 100% in BTC?

Personally I won't. Because many facilities in my area doesn't support BTC payment. Smiley I do not mind receiving, say, 20% of my pay in BTC denomination.

Nobody knows the future but if I had a chance past months or past year i would accept why not. It is a great opportunity to receive the salary in bitcoin because first you don't have to pay fees, transaction fees that are through the banks, it's in one way anonymous so the government does not know that you are getting paid for your job etc.
1629  Other / Off-topic / Re: Does sending Bitcoins feel good? on: June 15, 2016, 12:40:39 PM
When sending out some Bitcoins from your wallet, does it feel good? Do you get a nice body high from it?

I try to increase the balance with lots of transaction and when sending out some bitcoins from wallet saying the truth hurts a bit because I see how my balance has decreased and now i have less bitcoins. Every time I see the minus symbol makes me feel uncomfortable. But on the other side i feel good because i know that the other party is using bitcoin and bitcoin is becoming popular.
1630  Other / Off-topic / Re: If Bitcoin price would fall to the bottom, what would you do next? on: June 15, 2016, 12:28:15 PM
I will start buying of course. I will never turn my back on Bitcoin as it brought me so much good in a matter of years. I'll keep showing my support!

To the bottom means many different price like $100 or back to $300 but if this happens then i will probably hold even longer and trying to increase the total amount of bitcoin. A good way is also to invest in altcoins now and when the price crashes the exchange rate increases which means that we have more volume in bitcoin.
1631  Other / Off-topic / Re: use Bitcoin in daily life? on: June 15, 2016, 12:19:17 PM
Hi
Is there anything like this which will help me to use Bitcoin in my daily life.Like we have a map on the app or web.It shows people nearby you that are accepting bitcoin and services.Like someone living nearby Mcdonalds, he will add that i will accept bitcoin and let you eat at Mcdonalds(you pay him bitcoins..he gives cash to you).Same as traveling people nearby you add their services that for which things they can accept bitcoin.

Is there anything like this already.

Until now i have seen only maps that shows where bitcoin is allowed and banned but this is only for countries not for cities or anything similar, I think that you should ask directly about which city are you interested in and see if someone else saw anything bitcoin related near there, but i would suggest to keep and hold Smiley

1633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If prices crash after halving, what would you do? on: June 15, 2016, 12:09:20 PM
Everyone's excited for the halving event happening around July. Everyone's saving hoping that the price will skyrocket after it.

But what if prices crash down instead? what would you do?

I'm hoping that the price will be much higher that it is right now and probably will sell most of my bitcoins that i saved, but if the price crashes after the halving then i should keep them and not sell because doesn't worth too much. If the price crashes then it will go up again after few months or at least at the end of the year.
1634  Economy / Economics / Re: How would you double $100,000 safely? on: June 14, 2016, 11:42:18 PM
I have $100,000 to invest but want to safely double it in a year. Any suggestions?

I have a suggestion, buying Apple shares or recently people that have bought LinkedIn shares they made a profit for at least 46% because Microsoft has bough the LinkedIn and the value of the company has been increased for about 50%. Doubling money is not easy and not everyone knows how to double but making a little profit from it there are always ways to do it.
1635  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does auto trading bot make good profit ? on: June 14, 2016, 11:38:54 PM
Does automated Bitcoin or other crypto currency trading bot can make some good benefits ? Is it good to use it ? What is the best bot ?

I have seen many trading bots that are being sold here in forum like C.A.T but telling the truth i do not trust these bots, what if the developer has made a hidden feature and dumps all clients's assets (bitcoins, altcoins), nobody can guarantee that this can't happen. Also it is the opposite way pumping a price and then buying high etc. Maybe there is a profit using them but I believe that the amount isnt high.
1636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I did not understand something with the Bitcoin on: June 14, 2016, 11:35:16 PM
Bitcoin is revolutionary, but get paid for his work in Bitcoin is not a bit risky?
If the price of Bitcoin decrease, and you have already been paid in Bitcoin, what will you do?
What is your opinion on that?

Getting paid in bitcoin is risky because the price of bitcoin isn't stable, it is risky but you can get also profit, so if you were paid last month in bitcoin then this month you can see that you made profit doing nothing as the bitcoin price has been increased for $200. It's pretty same as getting paid on gold but the price changes often.
1637  Other / Meta / Re: Am I the only one seeing this? on: June 14, 2016, 11:28:28 PM
—If not, is this allowed?

Made some changes on my PC and saw that.  It was just white before.

I'm using google chrome and the Yellow stars are dark blue like the title color, but checking the lending board from Mozilla it shows the Yellow color. I think it is allowed because it is not anything that hurts eyes, i remember when theymos disallowed some other characters which were really annoying.
1638  Economy / Services / Re: [0.01BTC bounty] Unable to access a partition of HDD . Help needed. on: June 14, 2016, 04:52:29 PM
So I shrinked the volume of existing partition and then using the free space available made a new partition and gave the drive letter to it as "A" . After restarting pc "A" has completely disappeared. Disk management shows that there is partition(with same space as with which I created "A") , but now disk management shows blank name for it. It doesn't let me modify the drive letter, doesn't let me delete the space, doesn't let me do anything with the "A"  drive.
Its not even showing up in explorer. How do I get it back?
Ill pay 0.01BTC to the person who solves it.

Are you able to access the "A" partition through command promt?
Try this if you can delete that partition.

1639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where would you like to see Bitcoin accepted? on: June 14, 2016, 12:26:28 PM
This thread was created 6 years ago, and seeing how much bitcoin was distributed since then it a good start for bitcoin. The places that we would like to see bitcoin accepted are of course firstly on Amazon and Ebay. I also buy lots of things on Aliexpress, it is a china based website and it's a large shop including Alibaba. There are alternatives to pay in these websites through third parties but it takes more time and more fees.
1640  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confirmations are getting faster ? on: June 14, 2016, 12:13:17 PM
Is it me (just luck) or the confirmations are really getting faster ? last time I got transaction confirmed in eight minutes and now in 2 minutes only while I was getting them in like 15-20 minutes.

For the last 6 blocks (which all of them are almost full at ~1MB) were mined for less than 37min, few of them in less than a minute which means that you were probably lucky. I'm quite surprised that even though there are many blocks mined (overall tx fees are 0.2-0.5BTC) in about half an hour all of them are fully.
