1381  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin + Exchanges = ? on: August 14, 2016, 03:24:46 PM
With all the hacks and manipulation going on are exchanges even a good idea?

It isn't panning out all that well for Wall Street.

Why is Bitcoin any different?

Bitcoin without exchanges can't have this price and this popularity that has now, the exchanges make it easier for people to buy sell and trade bitcoin for any other currency.
1382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Any tips im new in trading on: August 12, 2016, 12:58:29 AM
any tips there guys im new in trading

edit: also best altcoin to invest

The best and more popular altcoin currently are ethereum and ethereum classic which can be found on poloniex and have a large volume trading(they stay most of the time on top of the popular coin list). What you should consider before taking action and purchase altcoin is to check how often and when the price goes up and down, check the exchange price maybe you can make a faster profit by moving from an exchange to another one.
1383  Economy / Economics / Re: Tell me your predictions about Bitcoin on: August 12, 2016, 12:47:06 AM
What is the obstacles, challenges and problems that Bitcoin can face it in 5 years? How we can help Bitcoin to take more authoritative place in the world of currency system?

I don't have made any prediction yet about the bitcoin in the near future but I think that bitcoin price in the next year should be somewhere at 1k USD because many new businesses will accept bitcoin and hope the halving effect will be seen at the end of this year.
1384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember when Bitcoin was new and..... on: August 12, 2016, 12:40:52 AM
I remember a few surveys you could complete and get like .005 or something BTC. This was like less than a fraction of a penny if I remember correctly at the time. People were dishing out BTC for simple tasks. Anyone could make bank off of it if they hopped on early enough.

The value in fiat comparing that time with the current time maybe is the same but the volume in bitcoin is different which makes the early adopters to earn pretty good because that they risked by investing in bitcoin, maybe after tens of years people will say remember the time when the price was $600, which is currently lol.
1385  Economy / Marketplace / Re: where can i invest my 1btc? on: August 12, 2016, 12:34:58 AM
Wherever you invest your first bitcoin be sure that you don't invest 100% of it because the risk is very high investing on something that you haven't tried or heard before. Currenlty there are many coins that will be out after a while so they are on the ICO phase now but if you buy at the first stage you probably will have a profit after the ICO is finished but remember that this is risky.
1386  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $1.6M ln Bitcoin Auctioned Off in US: Will Bitcoin Price Increase? on: August 12, 2016, 12:31:52 AM
Totalling around 2719 BTC in one block, the Bitcoin comes from various sources connected to both criminal and civil cases. The auction will be online on August 22, 2016 from 8AM EDT to 2PM EDT according to the USMS in a statement.

Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/16mln-bitcoin-auctioned-off-in-us-will-bitcoin-price-increase

Shouldn't we except a price decrease instead , I guess It's what happened in the last Silk road auction ?

I saw this auction and the rules are very strictly which means that the coins will be sold only to one buyer so these will be send to only one bitcoin addresses and the minimum deposit is 100k USD, I think the price will decreased a bit if the winner decide to sell a part of them.
1387  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: preev.com is down ? on: August 12, 2016, 12:20:55 AM

1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with Gift card? on: August 12, 2016, 12:17:40 AM
Hey i recently got myself a mastercard gift card. Long-story short i cant seem to find any websites which will allow me to buy bitcoins with it. Im from Norway and the card im using is a Norwegian paygoo mastercard gift card.
Appreciate if anyone can help?

From this list here https://www.coinbase.com/global?locale=en seems that coinbase accepts your country so you can link your bank account with coinbase and buy bitcoins, It has some fees so you may check them if you can afford that. For most of the other websites you should send your ID or password to pass the verification and then purchase bitcoin.
1389  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Online Shop that accepts BTC on: August 12, 2016, 12:10:23 AM
Anyone knows any online shop where they accept BTC? Looking for peripherals for my cellphone.

With Gyft everything has been easier because you can spend your bitcoin on popular websites through the gift card option, but check also this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1543450.new#new where you can buy many things with bitcoin.
1390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitGo, Coinbase Vaut or Paper Wallet for secure long term storage on: August 11, 2016, 11:55:33 PM
From your list I don't find the best option because coinbase does not allow you to control the private key and your funds 100%, but the paper wallets seems the old and more secure one. I would suggest a hardware wallet like Trezor which does it job perfectly, it cost a little but it worth if you are looking to store bitcoin secure for a long term.
1391  Economy / Economics / Re: How to teach kids about Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2016, 11:51:41 PM
This article doesn't talk about bitcoin but it got me thinking how to get kinds interested in bitcoin within the context of appropriate money management lessons. Think of we could teach kinds about it. The growth, the adoption, the inflation and retraction. The allure of the "internet money".

...what other ideas come to mind?

I think that kids that are on school and are good at math its easy to introduce them in the cryptography(if they haven't heard/learned before at school). I think that we should introduce them bitcoin as the new and innovative currency and about the hashes and the encryption we should tell them through the math processes.
1392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Kim Dotcom Predict 2000$ per Bitcoin ??!! on: August 11, 2016, 11:45:20 PM
This act from Kim Dotcom can be a good marketing for bitcoin as many people will be interested in bitcoin and probably will buy some bitcoins and considering this as an investment, I wish the bitcoin price to be increased after the megaupload launch but it is not clear enough how will it operate!

I'm starting to think that he don't know what he is doing anymore , I mean only few days ago , he tweeted and asking people to send their CV's (recruiting Security experts , cryptographers and coders) so If he didn't have the staff , how he got the idea and how he knew It's going to work in the first place ? because till I know I don't understand how his project is going to work.

I haven't checked his recent tweets but based on that means that Kim Dotcom has only the idea now and is looking for people to finish working on his idea, but the fact that he has mentioned the bitcoin is making me thinking that something good will happen in the near future.
1393  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinbase Signature Verification Issue on: August 11, 2016, 09:20:36 PM
I am having an issue verifying my signature on coinbase.  I copy and paste everything in correctly and it keeps coming up with an error on coinig.com.  Any suggestions?

Coining sometimes has issue verifying the bitcoin signed messages so I would suggest you to take a look at this website: http://wallet-2sx53n.sakurity.com/#verify , it is the brainwallet and by going to the Bitcoin-QT tab you will be able easier to put the details and verify if it is valid or not, if you have any issue with this I can assist you.
1394  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] Empty VCC that works with xbox live on: August 11, 2016, 09:17:48 PM
I need a VCC that will get me the one month free xbox live gold subscription

How much does the VCC should have? I have my own virtual bitcoin debit card which has zero balance but I'm not sure it will be accepted on xbox live? I can assist you and we can try if they accept it, btw how much are you gonna pay for this?
1395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value of Bitcoin at end of 2016, beginning of 2017 ::: Predictions? on: August 11, 2016, 09:15:02 PM
I'm not sure when exactly the new megaupload file host by kim dotcom will be available but seems that his "event" will affect the price and I think that at the beginning of 2017 the price of bitcoin will be somewhere at $800. At the end of this year the price I think will be increased up to $700.

1397  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Need someone to do a money order worth 124$ , I will pay 126$ in btc on: August 11, 2016, 06:44:28 PM
I want someone trusted to do a money order to USA , I will pay the same in btc with a tip.
Let me know if anyone could do this.

What exactly do you need, purchasing something online through paypal, credit card or? Is that a digital good or a physical good, does it need to be shipped? There are many scenarios that I would accept and not accept so let me know your request!
Thing is related to PayPal , I have negative balance in my PayPal and they closed my account, so I contacted them and asked how can I get my account back and they said me to deposit 124$ to them and my account will be there for me after some days.As I am not from US but my currency in PayPal was USD so I need to deposit money to USA only.
I have no choice.

I see that many member offered you to help but Have you made any deal with anyone here? or still looking? Since my paypal is in GBP does it work or maybe will not work to deposit in your paypal account, hope you will find here someone!
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US is auctioning $1.6 million on: August 11, 2016, 06:32:35 PM
I saw this news on thenextweb and was a bit curious how this auction will end, can anyone participate on this auction for example bidding only for 1 bitcoin or the bidders should bid for the entire amount of bitcoin? I'm afraid that the price will get lower because of this auction

It's all on the auction page. This auction will have one block only (and blocks on previous auctions were way bigger than 1 BTC... Cheesy)

This auction seems interesting, single block and all funds will be transferred to a single address. "You will not have the opportunity to view other bids. You will not have the opportunity to change your bid once submitted." This makes the auction to be high competitive as the bidders don't know if they won or not until the auction is over.
1399  Economy / Services / Re: Knightkon's Escrow Services on: August 10, 2016, 07:48:42 PM
Just one line? I'm afraid that people will leave you negative trust! Check the latest escrow thread from a full member user and users are not 'accepting' new escrows especially those that do not have positive trust https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1574265.0. Seems that you offered your escrow service before but as you saw its not needed to open another one now Sad
1400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Losing Passwords & Wallets... on: August 10, 2016, 07:27:47 PM
This isssue is still relevant folks, especially after bitfinex hack!

It is still relevant and so will be as long as the bitcoin exists. While people ignore the suggestion made by others then this will happen always. About bitfinex hack people got a good lesson but still people will leave their coins on the exchanges.
