1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The ‘Bitcoin Family’ One Year Later on: August 21, 2016, 09:29:46 PM
It's good to see very young people joining the bitcoin world and I hope those guys will open and create something useful for the new generation which I think would be perfect if bitcoin will be integrated in the games that kids plays so they can learn and earn and spend bitcoin like the game coins inside.
1342  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: For those who need it: Quickly sign a message with your private key in browser on: August 21, 2016, 09:09:16 PM
If anyone of you needs to quickly sign a message without having the core client handy, feel free to use https://ordinarydude.github.io/offline-bitcoin-signer/.
The source code can be found at: https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/offline-bitcoin-signer

Disclaimer: Use at own risk! The software is using the bitcore nodejs module which I am not responsible for and which is too complex for me to verify in terms of security. The paranoid download the code and run it on a computer that never touches the internet!

Everything works perfect except one thing, why I can't copy the signature code? People can use this website to sign a message and then copy to send or post somewhere. It would be good if you can modify it and let people copy the entire signed message like this one http://wallet-2sx53n.sakurity.com/#sign

Good catch! Fixed!
I will make a js version tomorrow!

Good that you hear my advice, and I see that now it is fixed and working. What do you think to make a field that will generate the complete signed message format like this one :
Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
[This is an example of a signed message.]
-----BEGIN SIGNATURE-----
[Btc Address]
[Signature]
-----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: I want to gift BTC to my friend because his wedding. What method do you prefer? on: August 21, 2016, 09:04:52 PM
Hey Guys! Next week I go to my friend's  wedding. I want to present him with some BTCs, like 0.5 or something  Wink He never heard about bitcoins, have you got any idea how can I give him? A paper wallet or anything else?

Please help  Smiley

Or should I give him a pendrive with a lite client?

The pendrive is a good option too but if you don't find any other way to make a present for them I would go with 2x ledger nano or the hw1(cheaper), they are secure and can be used with a chrome extension which you can setup for them and introduce to bitcoin. Btw onlinedragon's idea is perfect.
1344  Economy / Economics / Re: What would it actually take to make BitCoin the most used currency in the world? on: August 21, 2016, 08:50:47 PM
I think that in countries that bitcoin is not supported and banned from their government bitcoin is being used in the illegal way of course and if these countries legalize bitcoin then I believe that bitcoin price will be increased but to be the most used currency I think people should move their big shares in bitcoin

Not the people, but big companies would have to move their big shares in bitcoin in order to make it one of the most used currencies in the world, because without that it would never be able to reach mainstream if it is not adopted by big companies around the world.

One of them are amazon, aliexpress, walmart etc those that have millions of costumers and from many different countries in the world and when they expand accepting bitcoin then it will make bitcoin price rising even more.

That would obviously rise the price of bitcoin if those sites accept bitcoin, but it would just spread in the world of internet but we need adoption to a large extent in physical world, so that the people unaware of bitcoin or having different or negative ideas about it start learning and knowing its usage.

When people see that bitcoin is listed in the popular websites that I mentioned above then they will look at this new way of payment and buy (especially when there is a better discount through bitcoin) or invest at all and join the bitcoin world. Another thing is to have a bitcoin logo on popular shops.

1346  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin ATMs on: August 21, 2016, 08:29:59 PM
Hey guys. Just a conversation here Tongue

Does your country or city have a Bitcoin ATM?

In Croatia (where I am) we have only one Bitcoin ATM in Zagreb. It's in Tkalčićevoj 68, Zagreb if anyone wants to sell/buy some Bitcoin there.
When you buy, there's only a 3% fee! That's pretty great to be honest because usually, on forums, the fees are 10-20%.

So do you have a local Bitcoin ATM?

3% fee is not a huge fee comparing with those that require you lots of documents and verification process which sometimes can take many business days. In my country I haven't seen any atm bitcoin but if i ever see any I would go there and try how it works (with small amounts of course)

1348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin" is the hottest topic for me.. on: August 21, 2016, 08:00:51 PM
Today one of my friend in Facebook told me that he want to Start his blog and start earning money from blog.
he asked me to suggest him a hot Topic to blog which is very good for bloging and also have rich Keywords..

I just replied: "Bitcoin is the hottest topic for me"

he don't even know what bitcoin . but I think only saying "Bitcoin" is also enough for someone who know about net and know about google little bit.

Don't you guys think "Bitcoin" is the hottest topic on the web?

I don't think bitcoin is the hottest topic on google, news and indexing because bitcoin becomes the hottest topic only when a big hack happens, only if bad people use bitcoin for the dirty jobs and when a new ransomware happens which victims are the people.

1350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I need your Opinion on this guys! Please help. Best BTC WALLET for you. on: August 21, 2016, 07:29:16 PM
The Higher the votes next to my choices will be my PICK and I will sign up to voted BTC WALLET.. Thanks in advance.. Smiley

I checked the result and I should recommend you another bitcoin wallet and if you have some money to invest buying then trezor is one of the most expensive hardware wallet but it worth buying it if it fits your budget, otherwise a ledger hardware wallet does it job as well.

1353  Economy / Services / Re: Another signature campaign? on: August 21, 2016, 07:00:27 PM
Hi,
I am from Shopawl.com and we are considering a signature campaign for our website. Basically Shopawl is online store that accept bitcoins and altcoins. If you haven't checked do check right now: https://shopawl.com. We deliver world wide at cheapest shipping rates. Smiley

So what do you think should we run a campaign? is it worth to run?

Signature campaign and avatar and personal message are good to start with, pick a good manager which picks good participants and start with a small budged for example 10-20 people and experiment with the first month, if everything goes good then continue it and expand.
1354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: August 16, 2016, 07:18:59 PM
Whatever we think and that we don't want to see any other bitcoin competitive but saying the truth recently that coinbase has added Ethereum in their exchange website means that this altcoin is growing and will grow very fast after a short period of time, and I think that this is one of the reasons why bitcoin price is declining nowadays.
the question for me is why?
are the people just interested in coin as an investment or are they invested in it because of the technology behind it? ethereum is all about smart contracts and after the dao not to much is happening. so i am not to worried.

The more coins that are available the more the stability is destroyed, with the ethereum situation I didn't expected it to be listed on coinbase which surprised me also coinbase because they had only fiat and bitcoin and now that ethereum is listed I think they made traders to think or suggest them to use ethereum and then trade them leaving the bitcoin for a bit.
1355  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTER stole my bitcoins!!! Still owes users BTC from the hack! on: August 16, 2016, 06:10:07 PM
It is very hard for any exchanger to wake up from the hack and it is same for bter and i am quite sure many have already lost hope of getting their bitcoin back from bter. Bitfinex may also face same situation like BTER is facing now in future.

This hack has happened more than 2 years ago and they still haven't been recovered these funds neither they have earned from the exchange fee through this time? I think that they will never conpensate these money, from the pic above it seems that only 9.76% were sent back to the users. Bifinex is more popular and they have already returned 70%+ to their users and I believe that they will send the rest shortly.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cyrpto vs Fiat on: August 16, 2016, 06:02:39 PM
Sometimes wins fiat sometimes wins crypto. For a more stable value is fiat which its value decreases or increases slowly comparing with bitcoin or other coins which the value increases or decreases very fast, check the most recent price of bitcoin and you can see how far has dropped, bitcoin is good, fast enough and cheap to use but the value is not as we want.

One Bitcoin equeals one Bitcoin no matter what price the illiquid exchanges trade the Bitcoin for. Not many people trade at these exchanges, thats why any suden activity in trade can move the price a lot (up or down). But wait longer periods and average out and the short term price moves from illiquid markets are not big issue anymore - to accomplish this you might buy or sell small sums at regular intervals regardless of price for longer interval, then you get much fairer price from this averaging. But obviously if you dont need to buy or sell, you still holding the same amount of Bitcoins (or percentage of all Bitcoins) no matter what.

One bitcoin is one bitcoin but the price does matter really too much because people would not be interested if the bitcoin price gets at two digits or lower and if the price gets higher than now then people will be more interested and will spend their fiat to convert them in fiat.
One Bitcoin would be valued at one Bitcoin if I was able to buy the basic materials that I need for good X or Y straight from the supplier. Since that isn't a thing, we have to value Bitcoin in dollars because at some point it has to be exchanged for everyone to meet their needs. The only way that one Bitcoin could be valued as one Bitcoin would be if everyone can pay for everything they need in Bitcoin, going back to the very basic material suppliers. until that is possible, Bitcoin needs to have a dollar value associated with it.

Bitcoin price can be ignored only if those that have bitcoin mixers then the bitcoin price does not matter too much because they operate in bitcoin and are not linked to fiat or something that is valued in fiat. Otherwise fiat has its impact to bitcoin and we can't do anything about that.

1358  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Phone verification (country doesn't matter). It must be real numbers! on: August 16, 2016, 05:21:18 PM
OMG, is a android app that require verification to see that you are real, it will not charge you anything. I will provide more info if we have a deal and you can verify it yourself...

I can offer your phone verification but no SMS but only calling, I believe that they have a bot that calls and tells the PIN on the phone, if you are interested PM me.

1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitGo, Coinbase Vaut or Paper Wallet for secure long term storage on: August 16, 2016, 04:59:13 PM
From your list I don't find the best option because coinbase does not allow you to control the private key and your funds 100%,

I don't think that's true if you chose the multi-sig option:

https://www.coinbase.com/multisig

sounds like the Bitgo multisig wallet actually.

And you still think that you own 100% of you bitcoins? Sorry man but you have to make a research about this because coinbase is safe but not 100% as you think. Paper wallet is still a good option even though it is an old method but moving also to hardware wallet like trezor is a better option.
