I think advcash has a much greater business than just debit cards. It's a kind of paypal (i didn't know them if not for the card anyway). They will not be much affected by this shutdown I think. For example xapo and wirex will, instead.

read their announcement today.

the dont even accept bankdeposits/withdrawals anymore from today.

looks like a coincidence of bad situations. don't think has something to do with wavecrest issue.

We'll see what's going on, they mention a new provider for their card but not more info for now.
By the way I just received my card from epayments.com
Luckily I registered with them a while ago, they allow transfer from a bitcoin address to your wallet. I'll try the card later.

Yes it does.
The day after the westcrest problems, all the banks in the world decided to ban all exchangers. And also they have rejected to ban trading for all bank-employees.
The banks is saying it is an "unmorally" coin used for moneylaundering.

Seems that everyone have to move on.

It is a shame, and there is a big market there, for sure a lot of people is working hard looking for sollutions.
Meanwhile, I will try to fund my VISA wit CEX.io, lets see (don't like very much this option, but may be is faster than bank transfer)

Let's see some news. I do not think that they would shut down cryptos so easy

I have very little hope for this kind of service to come back. I think the BTC cards are over.

I've searched around some information on the wavecrest shutdown, and found a couple of articles with visa declaration that it was not an actions agains cryptos:

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/05/some-cryptocurrency-backed-cards-dropped-from-visa-network.html  (last part)

let's keep fingers crossed.

Excuse me, but are you blind?

"Our actions were not specific to cryptocurrency," Visa said in the statement, "but rather reflect the issuer's failure to comply with Visa's policies that ensure the safety and integrity of our payment system."

"Visa's policies that ensure the safety and integrity of our payment system."

They even admit they are on a war against crypto, and is cutting the helping hand.

No - maybe this was not "specific to cryptocurrency", - however, this was specific "to all mandkind who is trying to compete with us"

But who else is competing? Do you see this hit other currencies or companies, than BTC exchangers? No..............

This is both a war, and the start of a more regulated Bitcoin market.

If you ask me, its the people in the EU parlament who can see all these money, and they just want a part of it in the local countries around the globe now.
Those fuckers down their are so greedy and knows how to play their cards.
They have connections to exactly the type of people who is behind VISA.

First of all, I must clarify I am basically pessimistic like you and sadly I agree with the "war theory"

But, I also wanted to point out that visa told not to be in war against cryptos but against wavecrest violations.

In another declaration they told "to have other business currently working and involved with cryptocurrencies"

at the current stage, the "war theory" is only an hypothesis.

Because in reality it has already stopped, and theres no reason people put in $15k with 7 days left, and 1000$ withdrawal limit per day.
It stopped to give people a chance to empty their accounts.

https://www.skrill.com/en/siteinformation/fees/

For people whos able to use skrill.

However you cannot withdraw USD/EUR which has been deposited via BTC (exchange fee 1% when you deposit BTC)
But you can transfer like 2k usd to a bookmaker, and play a little, and then withdraw to Skrill again. When you recieve these funds from the bookmaker, its cleared for withdrawal on mastercard.

Finally someone admits this is a war against crypto. I thought it would come from VISA itself though, and not Discover.
As i said the whole time, and this is proven now - no company in the world who has license to create mastercards/visa/any plastic, will ever be involved with crypto again. Unless their company focus more on crypto than on fx. swift/wire.

All there is left, is to create an offshore bank account, and go there with cash in person.

Not true! Mistertango and Wagecan still offer cards with crypto connection. And even Viabuy can be loadet by Bitcoin at the moment.

Because they have an actual "EU-bank-license", which members/exchangers of west-crest didnt have (only west-crest had one), but they used it in a way VISA didnt like.
I talked to an exchangers director today in-person, and he told me that was possible, if you have obtained a bank-license.

Wagecan is known for rejecting people at the moment though, and saying its because of "risk of fraud in the certain country", even though its whitelisted countries. So i dunno.
The day west-crest got fucked, i ordered at all places online. Still havent heard from anyone.
