Can we have look at the website ideas ?

This is the initial concept for what will eventually become roadmap.peercoin.net. Colors still need to be adjusted somewhat though and we have yet to put in any actual details for v0.7. What this currently shows is how you can see a timeline view of both protocol releases and community projects. We still need to build it and make more adjustments, but this is to show that progress is being made.

What are the current thoughts regarding private transactions in Peercoin and/or Peerassets?

Should private transactions be a separate protocol outside the chain and just use other chains like zcash and monero?

Should private transactions be incorporated into Peercoin or into Peerassets? Or another layer on top of Peerassets?

As mentioned earlier, v0.6.1 has been released. This version should solve the issues people were having earlier with the client minting before the blockchain is fully synced. If anyone is still having this issue, please report it here.

Also, a troubleshooting guide has been added to the release thread here...

Well done, team
Very smooth, and all to easy Smiley

Hi all can anyone inform me how many coins for a weekly stake at this moment, give or take ...

Cheers

Hi there,  for a weekly stake I think we're talking tens of thousands ppc on the wallet. May be 20k? I think so at least,  if anyone has got better estimations please feel free to add.

BannerView.com has added Peercoin payments as part of its BannerCoin project. The BannerCoin project is enabling website merchants to accept a variety of cryptocurrencies alongside credit cards and Paypal under a single integrated solution.

PPC payment acceptance can be seen in action in the BannerView.com Website Marketing store and it's also accepted for BannerCoin purchases.

BannerCoin - officially trading on EtherDelta.
BannerView.com - Energize your Business Online, powered by BannerOS, the platform that turns your website into a powerful business tool.

How much is hard cap?

There is no hard cap. It is a hybrid PoW/PoS network, the first of its kind. PoS is 1% every year and PoW block rewards are dynamic. If hashing power put toward the network goes up, the reward goes down. PoW inflation has been trending downward over the past several years now.

Ok, I checked that out, and I am wondering how often you will receive PPC. Say, I am staking 100 coins, and it has been 30 days will I receive a fraction of PPC or will I have to wait till the end of the year to receive my roughly estimated 1 PPC?

you can receive fractions of PPC

Peerbox has now been updated to v0.6.1. Upgrade instructions here...

https://talk.peercoin.net/t/how-to-peerbox-support-thread-updated-to-v0-6-1/3827/174

Quote from: peerchemist
v0.6.1 is package is now in the repository.

To upgrade:

sudo apt update

sudo apt remove ppcoin

Now follow same upgrade instructions as desktop Peercoin release: https://medium.com/@PeercoinPulse/peercoin-v0-6-release-2831fb4394ad

(cleaning the old blockchain data)

reinstall:

sudo apt install peerbox

Fresh install is easy, business as usual.

I will repair bugs if there are some, but please note that this is last Peerbox update. I urge someone to take over the development, I simply no longer have spare time to do maintenance and introduce new features.

Before Peercoin's been following litecoin why now everything has changed who knows?

I guess it has to do with two factors:

- Litecoin has sucessfully "rebranded" as the first larger cryptocurrency that activated Segwit and is implementing the Lightning Network. Analyzing their price charts you can clearly see the impact of this decision.
- Peercoin had a loooooooong time without substantial updates. Even the new 0.6+ version is still based on the olde 0.8 code, but it's a significant improvement and developers - as far as I know, I asked in the Peercointalk forum - are now preparing to update the code to a really modern Bitcoin version.

So if you asked me - PPC may have bottomed now, and may be an opportunity (Disclaimer: I hold a few Peercoins).

Me and my uncle bought about 40 PPC at $1 each. Plan to hold them long term, felt it was a good investment because it is the first POS coin, im amazed its not gone up before now to be honest.
