I think it's time PPC get it's own forum.

Home page forum link will be updated to point to ppcointalk.org soon.

Due to the flood of new altcoins directing new ppcoin user to this forum is confusing to say the least.

However I will continue to put my 80% forum time here because this is an important forum to communicate ppcoin's message and innovations, to a broader audience with interests in cryptocurrency in general.

Bounty plea:
http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=188.0

Please read. Consider it marketing if you need a tax write-off ;o) of course consult your tax professional first.

I want to add that I'm willing to give ppcointalk a try again. I did try before 95% of people did, but views were negligible then. Hopefully they increase.
Thanks all.

*edit I like to throw out random % guesses so some one takes the time to actually correct me. Can you tell me how many people joined before/after me? ;o)

** double edit ok sorry I didn't realize that ppcointalk had a members list organized by join date. Nevermind too easy ;o)

Any one getting proof of stake coins ?

I have plenty of coins that are 1.5 months old. but still no proof of stake...

wallet is 'unlocked for block minting only'

how much luck is involved? is there a calculator to gauge avg times?

Well, I found out, that my 415 coins at pretty much the same age as yours, would take about 80 days to find a PoS stake block. However, the more they age, the more the days to find a block will decrease. But at the same time, the PoS difficulty can rise, which in turn will raise the days to find a block.

Some of that is available here: http://proofofstake.com/
But if you want more accurate information, it's probably best to directly pull it from the blockchain.

http://www.cryptocoincharts.info/period-charts.php?period=6-months&resolution=day&pair=ppc-btc&market=btc-e

If it drops below .00132, I would predict a freefall. Now could be a rebound period. There is about a 30 BTC support right now. 30 BTC up on the sell part would raise price to .0015..

eek, not sure what to think. Good chance PPC is gonna die...

I am a strong believer in this currency, long term. Now would be the time for the PPC community to come together to promote, grow and stabilize the market. There is an explosion of interest coming into crypto every minute at this point, let's get some of them on board.

Is there an agreed upon logo for the coin? Also, please take this as a critique only: the website at ppcoin.org leaves something to be desired. When I first browsed there my mind automatically jumped to the conclusion I may have typed in the URL wrong, what my eyes were visually taking in was not congruent with what I expected to see for the Portal into this great currency.

Easier said that done, I know. I would much prefer Sonny to not focus on such things that will take away from his core focus and expertise. We have a spoil of riches with artistic talent on these boards. I know this because I have seen some of the great work posted on this very thread. Anyone willing to put something more appealing to the eye would be welcomed.

Is there an agreed upon logo for the coin?

Not yet. I think people are taking a break from it for the moment. I'm no expert in Photoshop or I would whip up something right now. As I said on ppcointalk, I really want to see a designer merge the following three coins...

Photo A:

Photo B:

Photo C:

I believe the overall design of Photo A is a winner, minus the date on the coin. The only other problem I see with it is the color. It looks more bronze to me than gold. On the other hand, D3tail's designer made photos B and C, which I believe are the perfect colors for gold and silver, plus the reflection and sparkle of the coins. What I want to see a designer make is two face down versions (No angle shots unless it's in addition to face down shots) of coin A, minus the date. The first version will use the gold color from coin B and the second version will use the silver color from coin C. I think the silver version would be our perfect ppc coin. The silver and green just go together better in my opinion. I'd ask D3tail's designer to help us, but she's busy traveling. I've tried to get other designers I know to help me with this, but everyone seems to be too busy. All I can do is wait for now.

Aside from emblems, what is going on with this coin right now? Can we get an update about anything? Aside from The Free Market launching what future does PPC have at the moment?

+1

I think there's 10x more designs for the logo then actual merchants accepting this coin right now.

We seem to have stalled for the time being, more positive momentum to come soon.

With the litany of new alt-coins flooding the market and competing with PPC's share of it, now is the time to differentiate PPC from these challengers. The fact that it trades as low as it does relative to all other alt-coins that offer nothing new to the cryptosphere tells me PPC is seriously lacking advertising, marketing and appeal to new-comers.

1. Get a dedicated, identifiable logo so that human beings can start to relate an image to the currency, something that makes sense

2. Where is the promotion of the coin? Don't promote it and you can expect a Litecoin clone to bury it in market value and attention despite offering nothing new. This is how positive momentum works. Worst yet, any new, innovative coin with the proper marketing could surpass PPC very easily right now. Clones of clones of Litecoin have already done this on a short term basis.

3. PPCOIN.ORG - This does not look like the portal for a inspirational new Cryptocurrency. I have witnessed first hand the power a poorly designed website can have on newcomers: "This doesn't look very legitimate, going to stick with Bitcoin for now" << This has been the remark from several would-be investors who decided to stay away from PPC due to it's image. All I can do is educate them to the fundamental power behind the coin and hope that is enough to overcome the lack of design, marketing and community support.

4. One Man Show - Let's assume we work out some of the optics of PPC and it continues to grow. With growth and exposure comes more work, responsibility and accountability. Can Sunny King handle all of the work on his current plate in addition to what will be expected and needed from him as this ecosystem grows?

If the answer is "Only Sunny knows", are we all setting ourselves up for disaster? Is this Sunny and a lot of investors hoping he keeps pulling a rabbit out of his arse, or does he have support flooding in? These questions are not going to stop as they are logical at this point, hopefully we find some answers soon.

PPC has an Image issue, deny this, do nothing about it and suffer the consequences (in the from of losses in this case). This is the Wild West days of cryptocurrency, I would not be sitting on my ass right now with all of the competition gunning hard. Time is your best friend, until it isn't any more.

legit statement.

i think ppcoin.org should have the REAL logo of ppc; that ppl will imagine in their heads when they think of ppc; and infos about what ppc has to offer that differentiate it from other cryptos.

it can be a very simple look as it is now but without grand theft auto china town.

I myself can confirm that the website keeps people away from ppcoin. I was very weary of investing in it and almost didn't bother. But I did some more research and realized the website was only temporary, that a small community was building around the coin and that the coin itself had a potentially great future because of the way it was designed.

That website almost kept me away though. It's a much larger problem than people think it is. That's why I think the logo is so important to finish soon. The logo will go on the redesigned website. I wouldn't bother advertising ppcoin until it looks appropriate enough to point people to it. Advertising it now is just a waste of time because people are going to look up the website for more information and then lose interest. We need to finish this logo design so we can finish the website and then it would actually be worth our time to advertise.

Makes perfect sense.

We can start with getting something appealing and identifiable out there to relate PPC's best attributes to the currency itself, energy efficient, etc. Once you have a professional look to the coins logo and website, you can start to built upon that. Right now I feel we are working 2x to 3x as hard as we need to be to get more exposure to this.

I have seen some beautiful designs, let's get something agreed upon and up there.  The mock up posted by dcl595 looks nice and is an improvement, can we get Sunny's input on this and blessing? This is his baby and I certainly do not want him to feel some of us are trying to move the coin in another direction. If anything, I want to work with him and allow him to focus on what he is clearly talented at.
