CCE (New VPS)

addnode=69.164.204.19

addnode also can use Domain names

addnode=cryptocoinexplorer.com

It appears using DNS is a recent addition to the Bitcoin client and not quite in the PPC client yet   Wink

Yeah seed nodes are down. Support ticket filed. Anyone can volunteer as addnode for the new nodes?

It seems to be okay now that the blockchain completely downloaded. Not sure if coincidence.

Did I help you today, or just like my style? Toss a couple coins my direction!

If you experience initial connection issues due to seed node outage, try adding dreamwatcher's old node:

ppcoind -addnode=84.200.84.74
ppcoin-qt -addnode=84.200.84.74

or add this line to ppcoin.conf:
addnode=84.200.84.74

Seems dreamwatcher's old node works better for me.

One can also add the cryptocoinexplorer.com IP address as a node to look for:

addnode=84.200.84.74

I do not restrict the number of connections, so one can almost always connect.

Hmm,

That is strange. Though i seem to have a lower then normal amount of connections on both daemons.

As for the new VPS, I hope you are not one of the addresses I am blocking  Shocked

I applied all the the rules over all the VPS this round.

Oh I c. Both of your nodes work, it's just that only ip address works, addnode a host name does not as it's probably a relatively new feature for bitcoin.

Hey, I used Paint to modify that image above to include the style we're working with now, just to see what it looked like. There might be some jagged edges. There's only so much I can do with Paint, but at least it will give you an idea of what it would look like. Maybe somebody can do a better version using Photoshop. I made two versions..

I like the top image best since it spells out P2P Coin. Hopefully it will help clear up the confusion about what pp stands for.

edit heres the icons :

The icons are pretty, but without text next to them they don't mean anything to me. That's the trouble with the existing site, pretty icons no substance not even a sentence describing what the site is for! Epic failure from a web development perspective, nice from a graphic art perspective. Remember, "function defines form", not the other way around.

Just looking at a theme and feedback before additional ideas and work, I was concerned that it may be too corporate for Sunny and his philosophy behind the coin.

Should be pretty easy for Sunny to just drop in the icons and text if that's what he wants to do. Heck, I'm not html wizard but if he's to busy to mess around with it even I could fire up BlueGriffon and put the modest changes together.

I don't think the design looks too corporate. It does remind me a bit of the KDE splash though. That's a good thing, it's nice and clean. I'd hope he goes for it.  Grin

Excellent, it would be a great start on the road to improving pp.org it shouldn't continue the way it currently looks for much longer as its not to be taken seriously in its current format.

Is that a Grand Theft Auto map in the background? Seriously, I looked at the website when I first learned of the coin and was like WTF? Luckily I looked past it and did some more research, but who knows how many people have been turned away because of it. This will be a huge step in giving ppcoin more credibility.

So, how do I calculate based on my balance and age of coins, what my PoS stake reward will be, what difficulty the block will be(and time to solve it)?
Self-bump.

Additional note, it's been waay over 31 days since my last transactions, but my coins are not stake yet.

Definately should have text with those links so wouldn't have to guess what is what.
