I understand that Siacoin is on beta version where your team are working hard these days to get it into production.

I just would like to ask any approx date, we will see sia officially released. I don't mean a specific date. I rough estimate (this year, first half or second half of next year, etc)

Hard to guess. I imagine that by Jan 2016 we'll be ~stable for long term use, but still beta. Perhaps by June 2016 we'll release an actual 1.0. Depends on how many features we add before deciding that it's complete enough.

Looks like the transfer just didn't confirm. Note with the current low hash rates, blocks are mined very slow, about 1 every few hours. So, it might take that long, or longer, for your transaction to confirm.

Looks like the transfer just didn't confirm. Note with the current low hash rates, blocks are mined very slow, about 1 every few hours. So, it might take that long, or longer, for your transaction to confirm.

If you don't have both nodes running all the time then you need to wait for a block confirmation before the balance shows up. I suspect you just didn't give it enough time, block rate is really slow right now because miners keep coin-hopping.

OK, but the wallet I created and sent those funds to disappeared from my desktop client. The whole client looks as though everything disappeared, and and the wallet is re-syncing from the beginning. So it looks like my funds are gone. Is there a way to retrieve this?

The explorer says that the coins are still in the address you sent them to. How did you get that address? And what version was the wallet? If you got the address from a 0.4.x wallet I can help you get the coins back. It'll be in your backup file, but you might have to do more than load it. (you may need to create a bunch of addresses - like 100 or so - and then restart 'siad' before the balance appears. We're working on making that unnecessary in future versions)

The nodes will do 0-confirmation transactions, they'll show up as 'pending' in the 0.4.x UI.

Right now we're using 2 data pieces with 10 parity pieces. That's a redundancy of 6. By November we're looking at switching to 3 data pieces with 12 parity pieces, for a redundancy of 5. We'll keep raising the numbers and reducing redundancy as the host churn drops.

Announcing PHP-Sia

PHP-Sia provides a library of methods for PHP developers to communicate with Sia.

This library will be expanded as I work on this for my own projects. I'm currently implementing an accounts system, for tracking address balances and payments.

For now, the library supports:

• sending funds
• creating addresses
• uploading/sharing/downloading files
• and more

Note that PHP-Sia uses some API calls that are deprecated as of Sia 0.4.2. I'll keep maintaining the code to keep up with new Sia releases.
