Yeah only Sandeep so far, may be some one was in the squad but i've no idea. Having said that i do think if some players from the smaller country does better in these league then IPL franchise will pick him, he might not get into Playing XI but he'll definitely join the franchise ecosystem.

I don't think at current scenario they are going to increase overseas player cap, considering new local kids are doing satisfactory job. May be there could be possibility when they increase the team to 12 so that means in next 4-5 years.  

Even with 6 Indian players, there will be a minimum of 60 native players spread across 10 franchises. If it gets to 70, then there is a possibility that not all the franchises may be able to find promising players. And also, IPL is being branded as a global league rather than one that is restricted to India. That is the reason why the ICC has allotted a 2.5 months time window for this tournament. And also, we are talking about the upper cap, and not the minimum requirement. Give franchises the option to field 5 overseas players. If they are satisfied with the local talent, then they may go with 3 or 4.

IPL did went into globalized mode but it's still very much domestic tournament IMO as vast majority of audience is local. I think this number game should depend on quality only, if quality is going down due to local players then increasing overseas slot makes a perfect sense but they are doing okay job so far and local talent is ready to get their hands dirty. In last IPL there were many instance when franchise fielded only 3 overseas players in the playing XI.

Having said that if by any chance they are increasing teams to 12-14 then i don't mind 5 reserved spot for overseas players.

UAE has no shortage of money. So they can host a tournament as big as possible. They have the money to do basically anything. But the problem is they themselves don't have enough skilled players. And probably that is the reason why they have decided that one team can have nine foreign players. in the national UAE team, we can see that most of the players are foreigners. so even though they are very enthusiastic about cricket that doesn't actually have players who can play cricket at the top level. But as I said they don't have any shortage of money so they are going to make this tournament very big.

I think if Arab Am Rat can make such a decision then many reputable companies will express interest in buying the team Because UAE is a perfect place to organize something. Although maybe initially they will not be as crowded as the IPL, but still it will cover the entire cricket world.I think such an initiative should be taken by United Arab Emirates. I think if they can take such initiatives then the popularity of cricket will increase in many areas. Because currently IPL is the most popular domestic cricket in the cricket world.

The stadiums of UAE might not be crowded with cricket enthusiasts but there will be a lot of money entering and outgoing. And another reason why there might not be too many people in the stands of the stadium is because of the weather. If I am not wrong the weather in UAE is very hot during the day and very cold at night. Not many people are very accustomed to this type of weather. But UAE is rich. And I am quite sure that the organizers are going to give importance to different media platforms and social media platforms a lot more.

We have seen how cricket matches were conducted without spectators during the Corona period. Where many viewers were available in tv media or online. Hot or cool it doesn't matter. If there is no restriction there will be no shortage of visitors. People from different parts of the world including Pakistan, India, Nepal and Bangladesh live there in United Arab Emirates so I believe there will be no shortage of visitors. As it will be a big budget game so cricket lovers won't miss it.

If someone watching each n every game then ofc fatigue is natural but fans hardly do that.

When any event goes for longer period of time then spectators become selective, they opt to watch only their fav players or their respective franchise fixture or interesting match-up. In next 5 years i do see tremendous possibility of IPL going into 12 team format or if BCCI get lucky then even 14.

Reserved spots of five players for overseas could be cut in near future as we have some more quality leagues like right now we are heading for ILT20 even it's Indian based but good for many players and specially for associate countries specially when no Pakistan player involved again because this will also associate players chances for having their spots in this league.

Still, here we need some ICC involvement in this all because foremost they need to sit and talk with all big leagues about their schedule which is very important if they are able to settle and giving all fair chance then surely future is bright for them even window is just available for IPL and no other country eligible for this and can talk about this as well with ICC or other boards.

And there is a real possibility that the share for associate members may go down even further. During the last cycle (2016-23), the allocation was reduced from $52.5 million per year to $20 million per year. That is around $200,000 per year to each of the associate nations. Ireland and Afghanistan may demand a greater share, since they are also full members. In that case, the allocation for the associate members may get reduced.

ICC with their big stakeholders are currently most corrupt and poor management sports authority in the world because they have never been in professional player's hand which is hurting badly this game, and it's all system but sadly no one can't do anything because they are powerful and have strong hold on this all.

I was feeling we need some system like UEFA but sadly recently we have some corruption charges against them also but still they are doing good for the sack of game and improving their system and quality which is the best part of their organization but sadly here no one is doing specially B-4 are trying their best for hurting associate countries which can do much good for this game in long run.

T20 format is revolutionary for all as this can bring good profit in short term for all countries and ICC, but for this they have to do some good work and better planning with the help of all stakeholders.

I've no problem on BCCI getting backlash for right reasons but it shouldn't be one way street, which is the case right now especially from SENA media and Pundits ( Barring SA).

Barclay deserves whatever backlash that is directed against him. The only instance when we had a worse chairman for the ICC was when Sharad Pawar got in to that position. And interestingly, elections are due in a few months from now. Barclay says that he wants another term, which may not be acceptable for the BCCI. Sourav Ganguly has given hints that he is interested in this position. Kumar Sangakkara is another name that has surfaced recently. Either of these two will be a lot better for cricket when compared to Barclay.

Amazing stuff from cricket fans even we have limited members those are interested in this topic and cricket but still a big achievement but if we have no other few threads then surely right now we have almost double of these figures because I just check we already have around 30,000 posts on other three threads with around 300,000 views which mean this could be near one million and posts could be almost double but still a good achievement for all cricket fans here on this forum.

Hopefully this love for cricket will be gone ahead by time despite any personal or national issues because sometimes I feel we have few members those go beyond limits which is good but still staying into better environment is good for all of us and this community.
