I can understand your logic. But the ICC need to make sure that such type of meaningless matches are avoided in the future. Think about the cricket fans. They take their time and effort to watch five days of play, and in the end they are getting this. And trust me, no one would do this if the WTC points table is not there. And I am afraid that in the future it will get even worse. Test cricket is dying and further incidents such as this one will make that demise even quicker. First of all, lop-sided contests should be avoided. Big-4 should play among themselves more often.

I don't think there is any future of test cricket in this fast pace world. People don't have time to watch five full days of cricket. Those who have joined the test cricket are the only one to play it for future as no new country in the world is interested in test format. There is hardly any interest in WTC by cricket fans but thanks for updating us about this event.

AFAIK, Asia cup was once played in T20 format (I don't know who the winner was). T20 is gaining popularity day by day and every team should develop expertise in T20 format to secure there future cricket. I am excited to see Asia cup in T20 format, trust me there are not much fans of ODI and Test these days.

Important point mentioned - but would that rule be applicable to every region with extreme weather conditions. And what about the pitches which are already mature. I think the pitch was given so much importance but when there was time. Teams did well on the dead pitches and made the game alive.

But, I have to say I like the ODI format better. But this change can certainly offer some interesting results in the upcoming Asia Cup.

There are no rules for pitches in ICC books because they have no balls for this, so we can't expect any positive thing it's all about relative board that they prepare good and supportive pitches for better competition and fans interaction otherwise this format will in more trouble even can lose more marketing with already lost very badly in few countries mostly we have empty stadiums and bore cricket.

As we can watch in West Indies we are in fourth day of second test and England plays 151 over now West Indies is already in 180 over so most chances this match is also going to end in bore draw, so we have two test series both are doing not good even having the worst things which are not good for them and this game.

I think with every match the match referee will compile a report regarding the pitch condition and if the pitch condition were dead then it will be reported as well. I am not sure what are the conditions that are said while preparing the wickets but considering how we used to see results in Test matches in the past several years, i think there is a benchmark.

After every match the officials will rate the pitch and the outfield and they will give a ratings according to the standard in which they were able to hold during the entire duration of the match or if it does have an unfair assistance to either batsman or bowler and if that is the case it gets a poor rating then it will affect the rankings in Test championships of the home team as a poor pitch will result in a 3 point deduction.

If you wanna see proper cricket then test is the format. Even odi was not considered proper format to check cricketing skills, it's T20 that has emphasised the importance of ODI. After the start of T20Is its looks very boring to see ODIs. It's also good that we have Asia cup happening and not postponed due to India Pakistan rivalry.

And look at the ongoing test matches, such as the one between England and West Indies, and the one between Pakistan and Australia. What you will gain from watching these useless matches. Both the teams make 500 plus scores and then the match ends in a draw. You want to waste 40 hours of your time to watch such matches?

Test cricket was invented in time when people have ample time to spare, it's not invented in current time. To meet mood of 21st century people, T20 has jumped in and so far it has done quite a fair job in promoting cricket to new countries. The second match between Pakistan and Australia was exciting till the last ball, as Aussies were looking for victory while Pakistan wanna draw.

Hands down to those who predicted a draw for Pakistan and Aussie test match. What a treific draw by Pakistan and what a wonderful performance by Muhammad Rizwan and Captain Babar Azam. I really like the personality of Muhammad Rizwan. Can't get my eyes off the TV when Riz is on the field.

Yeah... congrats to Pakistan for saving the match. But the man of the match award should go to the curator who prepared the dead pitch. To be frank, the pitch was not of international quality and it is a shame that the PCB needs to resort to such cheap tactics to get some points in the WTC. If they had prepared a lively pitch and lost the match, then there was some honor in that. At least we could have said that they tried hard. But for this series, from the very first day the Pakistanis went on the defensive. There is no honor even if they win a few points from drawn matches.

Rameez Raja already apologised to the cricket fan for what they did to the pitch. I am sure they have had tough time internally. And they will be very very careful and would not do such  blunder again. One thing is for sure - Pakistani sometimes become too over confident of their skills and ruin everything at the end.  Little knowledge is a dangerous thing - hence proved!

Test cricket is the first-ever format of cricket. But it really does not suit the modern generation and time. Life is so fast now and people don't have time to watch test cricket for five days straight.

Agree with your statement but still a very big community loves this format and want to in touch with this even on websites or through other media, but sadly we have no solid plans for having supportive things for this format because its doing good in this way for more than one century and now still have good charm.

Recently due to Pakistan vs Australia and now West Indies vs England have some good criticism for draw matches but still we have some good interest in these matches here now all responsibility on relative boards that they have done something for better results and attraction of fans which is indeed rather than their own interest.
Right now both teams are good like Australia and England, so opponents have flat pitches for their own players interest it surely needed some change or penalty for things like this.

Agreed and white uniform and less spectator  and lots and lots of balls and long innings has never been appealing to me. That looks too boring and is so time consuming - however cricket is about colour, Lots of noise and quick deliveries and fast decisions. I am not sure someone is that excited about test match - but being a fan we have to follow up!

Test cricket was exciting many decades ago, when we had players such as Brian Lara, Brett Lee, Glen McGrath, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Wasim Akram, Muttiah Muralitharan, Alan Donald and Alistair Cook. But the current bunch of players don't have any test skills and they concentrate solely on limited overs cricket. Only a few fringe players such as Pujara and Rahane are considered as test specialists in India. The same is the case with other South Asian nations as well. Test cricket is in a better position in SENA nations though.

Shaheen Shah did some good bowling to take two very important wickets - most of the people are predicting that match will end in draw. I assume the same.
And that's correct test match takes so much of our time it become boring sometime. But then there are exciting moment we dont want to miss.
