Major ICC events are primarily elite teams that are favored by the ICC. England, Australia, India are definitely on top of this list. In particular, ICC prepares the schedule for major tournaments according to how India wants to play and when it wants to play. If India has a problem with playing a match then ICC postpones that match for India. Basically, India bears a large part of the expenses of the ICC, that is why India gets so much advantage in all kinds of tournaments. In front of Women's World Cup and ICC first proposed to India whether they will host the World Cup but India did not do it so it is very likely that the Women's World Cup is going to be organized in Bangladesh while this Women's World Cup was supposed to be hosted directly by Bangladesh.

Let's go with the recent example of T-20 WC in the Caribbean and USA. The timezone was ridiculous for obvious reasons and raised a few eyebrows as far as Indian fixtures were concerned. Broadcasters paid billions of dollars for the Indian market so they had to facilitate the Indian market with a Prime time slot. If not, then no broadcaster will overpay for the ICC tournament, which was the case in this cycle and no wonder it's already loss making affair for the Stars and they are about to merge Disney India with Reliance JIO.

And it's not the worst case. The worst scenario would be no broadcaster paying too much money to ICC, it will directly affect all the parties.

Regarding Women's WC. Firstly, ICC didn't offer BCCI anything, The ICC tournament is based on a rotation basis and Bangladesh was chosen (way back in 2022-23) for the 2024 Women's T-20 WC but recent turmoil in Bangladesh created a headache for ICC and then ICC requested BCCI, which they declined because why would they host back to back 3 ICC tournament? It's not 70s-80s.

Last T20 World Cup was a disaster. And not just because of the time zone. The tournament was scheduled during rainy season, and a number of matches (including those involving the Indian team) were washed out. A few more matches were impacted and overs were cut short. The broadcasters were pissed off, but the ICC just ignored their concerns. For the next cycle (2028-31), I am not expecting a repeat of the $3.04 billion deal that they got for the current cycle. They would be lucky if they get $2 billion.

Congratulations to vanuatu for their upcoming matches and for winning this game. Vanuatu played a fantastic match. They will continue to play like this in the future. Vanuatu won the game by 36 runs. The 4th match between Vanuatu and Fiji was held at the country faleata oval stadium. Fiji won the toss and elected to batting first. Andrew Mansale is a very talented player for Vanuatu team member. Vanuatu total runs for 157 and wining the match. Fiji total runs for 121 and lost the match. Fiji played a very bad match and they made their fans very angry. Their team needs hard work now. Vanuatu performed well in this match and deserve to be congratulate.  If they continue to play like this from now on it can only be beneficial for them.  And it a good team too.  And it was not a simple margin win, it involved a lot of hard work and pressure from their bowlers.  And the real win role should also go to their bowler.  Vanuatu batsmen need to work on their pace.  Because most teams reach the target of 150.  So their batsmen should be able to target up to 170.  And their bowler also took 9 wickets and won the match by 36 runs.  Congratulations to them for their win and Fiji batsmen need to work on their pace as they did not meet the target of 150.  And if they cannot succeed in this they will continue to fail.And the opposing teams will continue to win matches and strengthen themselves.

You're right that India is a far better team than Pakistan but still Pakistan has good players who on their day can defeat any team and this is the reason people like to watch to Pakistan Vs India matches more than any other matches. It doesn't change the fact that broadcasters overpaid for the current cycle and made losses despite 2024 t-20 WC beating the previous numbers (the last 2 t-20 WCs), yes there was a significant spike in numbers for the 2024 T-20 WC and not because of some miracle, its just Indian team had a fine campaign. Yeah, course correction will happen as far as the next cycle is concerned and for the right reasons.

Reminder that I posted this way back in 2022 when the auction concluded and considering the current drama it aged nicely.

-There are total of 179 matches in 4 ICC tournaments and India is playing 26 matches in 4 ICC tournaments then we have additional 8 semifinals and 4 finals (knockouts).

- From the broadcaster's point of view if they are targeting the Indian market only, then they have only 26 (Ind) + 8(Semis) + 4(finals) = 38 Important matches out of 179 in the ICC tournaments.

- If we look at important matches only (38) then according to $3.02 Billion bid it every match is worth close to $80 Million.

- And if we are looking at every ICC match which is 179 then every game is worth approx $16.8 Million. Point to note that 1 IPL match worth is $13-ish million, that's a recent benchmark.

Remember 179 - 38 = 141 non India/ non knockouts.

Now tell me which broadcaster will pay close to $17 million bucks for Aus vs SL, Pak vs SL, SA vs BAN or even Eng vs Aus for Indian or any market?

The 1st match between Kuwait and Hong Kong was played at the country Selangor turf Club. Kuwait won the toss and elected to batting first. Kuwait is a strong team and amazing playing for won the match. Kuwait total runs for 169 and Won the match. Hong Kong total runs for 168 and lost the match. Hong Kong and Kuwait both are good teams, and they both played well in the match, but Hong Kong lost by just 1 run, no worries. Hong Kong will perform better in the next match.Kuwait won by 4 Wickets and 7 balls. Also many times, he has taken the risk the fielders of Bangladesh has not have fast running and don’t have the perfect angle to catch which is why he was safe for much time as well.

He made 29 runs while Agha Salman scored 19 critical runs. Let’s see what will happen in the next days as this game is going very interesting. I have a feeling that Bangladesh will bat well too on this pitch.

I agree. Did a decent job as the BCCI president. And when compared to the mafia that we had during the UPA times (Narayanaswami Srinivasan/ Sharad Pawar), this guy do look like an angel. And many of those who complain about him would be extremely happy if the mafia comes back to power. Apart from WPL/domestic salary, a can note down a few other positives from Jay Shah's term as the BCCI president. He finally agreed to cricket being included in Olympics (all other BCCI presidents before him were against that idea). And Jay Shah as the ACC president actually contributed a lot to growth of cricket in countries such as Nepal.

Bangladesh started pretty decently. But after that, Pakistan had a great partnership. 141 from Shakeel and 171 not out from Rizwan actually took the game far away from Bangladesh. And now the second day has finished and Bangladesh has started their first innings. Pakistan put on 448. That is a huge total for a team like Bangladesh, especially in test cricket.

I actually think Bangladesh is already thinking about going for the draw and not thinking about winning.
