As many people have said, bitcoin won't replace the dollar. S country likes to have control over their primary currency, and they can't really take money out of your cold wallet, can they?
It is true, not possible a country to change its currency to foreign currency, the dollar will remain, impossible for bitcoin to replace the dollar Yes exactly true no matter how worst Dollar might down but still Bitcoin cannot replace dollars as the local currency any country. Probably a new born country can use Bitcoin as their currency but any established country will not give up their national currency for Bitcoin even though Bitcoin is much much more valuable than dollar and other currencies. yeah right we can see today, the government's efforts to keep their currencies from bitcoin, namely by banned access to the bitcoin in their country

Not soon... Because the technology is still quite young and we need more adopters.

Coinbase CEO is drunk, bitcoin has been fluctuating so much in the past several years, and USD is very strong right now, there is no way bitcoin can and will replace dollar any time soon.

Not necessarily drunk, more likely promoting his services and attempting to generate more interest in the technology so he can make money off of it. There -technically- isn't anything wrong with that, but it doesn't sound logical to the average person, so it probably isn't the best. I wouldn't say the USD is very strong, but it is not weak enough to be replaced by a digital currency yet. More things have to happen for the value and position of the USD to be challenged.

I think it will not replace fiat currency at all because it's still a new concept to people... It needs to be perfected before it can be used in a mass scale. Thats just my opinion though, you can have your own, of course

i do not believe that bitcoin will replace the dollar within 15 years, it is still too soon, though within 15 years bitcoin will be more popular, but it will not replace the dollar.

Exactly it will take a long time that bitcoin will replace dollar and I don't see this is near future, as I believe that btc can never replace any major currency as still bitcoin is new to many people around and they would surely have more faith in dollar as compared to bitcoins.

I don't think it will until the fiat bubble collapses. And even then there might be better cryptocurrencies than bitcoin.

I think it has the potential to replace BTC but soon is just a little too much, I think it would be good if it is able to replace USD someday but saying soon is really asking for a huge change very soon.

USD can simple not be replaced by a digital (crypto) currency as there should be changed lots of things. It can only be a simply additional payment which we want to be seen mostly in every shop.

Personally, I doubt that any digital valuta would, or could, replace the mighty US Dollar - since the implementation of the Bretton Woods system after WW2, the US Dollar has gained more and more 'trust', which led the US Dollar as the most used currency for multinational trade, which it also is today. That's my reasoning on why Bitcoin won't replace the US Dollar in a near future.

I do agree. The future of the USD is endangered of other currencies such as the Japanese and Chinese Yen and the Euro in international trade - but a currency not controlled by a central bank would never take over the USD as an international currency and especially as a national currency.
