I don't think so. It's hard for bitcoin to replace dollar, dollar already popular around the world and for bitcoin, not all people know about bitcoin. It will takes a long time for bitcoin to replace dollar.
Well, many who say that, and indeed, the likely size would be like that. bitcoin will probably never replace the money, and because the price of bitcoin unstable

Nooo not in a hundred years why would the bitcoin replace the dollar soon. There will always be more people using the dollar than using the bitcoin as paying method. Maybe online he will beat the dollar but paypal already does.

The Bitcoin is not going to replace the dollar I am sure of that, the Dollar is to big to all of a sudden become replaced by the Bitcoin. The Bitcoin will need to be allot more popular for them to take over the Dollar.

Coinbase CEO believes bitcoin will replace dollar within 15 years.

Read the following news:
http://cointelegraph.com/news/114983/coinbase-ceo-bitcoin-will-replace-dollar-within-15-years

Do you think it will be true? Are you positive towards bitcoin's future status?

Nope. I very doubt government will want to relinquish control...

As a sub currency it could gain mainstream use but i think there will be much blood before BTC replace the Dollar.
i dont think that the bitcoin CAN change the dollar and that is because there are to many men who are using gold instead of bitcoins and does not matter how many users bitcoin has but gold will always be number one in paying methods.

Nah it won't replace the dollar or any other currency... what bitcoin can do is replace the way inter country
forex is done... I.E instead of a country having to deal with all sorts of forex like GBP YEN USD ZAR RMB etc etc
they can just trade against BTC... currency stays in the country of origin and bitcoins move between countries...
so to speak.

it wont replace FIAT its not supposed to is supposed to regulate FIAT and the best way is inter country transfers.
countries who are self sustaining would need less bitcoins to trade with the world. Less demand for bitcoins is a specific
country the lower the FIAT of the country to BTC ratio i.e stronger FIAT currency so on and so forth.

I think bitcoin will be 2nd main currency in the world, the 1st currency is local currency, then bitcoin, in this fact bitcoin will replace dollar (but can not be international currency as USD)
but not sure it will come in near, maybe next 100year.

I don't know but at my opinion that USA will not replace dollar, cause bitcoin is very hard to control and it's not profitable for USA goverment. Bitcoin is solo currency.

It's definitely not an easy question-it all depeneds on how bitcoin goes in the future and if more people start to use it and replace it as a tool for paying in their lives,it's definitely possible, but I have to say I expect people to use both currencies at least for now.
Well, when the CEO of coinbase believes so there must be a reason and I strong back that reason, whatever it is. Basically still people compare bitcoins to USD so yes honestly its tough to make guys forget about USD.

I don't beleive that bitcoin can replace any currency, cause it's nonsense to replece your own currency into uncontorlabe digital money that illegal in many countries.
yeah I also experienced the same doubts how bitcoin can replace fiat? whereas until now bitcoin bitccoin not so well known and still less with paypal as a payment method? I doubt bitcoin could beat or match fiat?
I think we still need a lot of things before discussing this

It's a good alternative. Dollar will always stay. I hope Bitcoin will come even good known as the dollar and the euro. If everybody found his way to the BTC, the future looks good.
The Bitcoin is not going to take over the Dollar because the Dollar has been around for to long so for the Bitcoin to take it over is pretty unlikely. Bitcoin has to be become more popular to even think about that.

It's too young to speculate that it will happen. Bitcoins needs to be tested more and prove in the future it's worth. That will only happen if we can attract more users and there will be a massive adoption from different business sectors in the business industry. Bitcoins is a good current for business and with online transaction can be done in a regular basis you can save with the fee and outstandingly fast transaction.

I dont think that it will happen soon and that is because there are still a lot of people that is still using Dollar as their payment method and that is really nice.
But you never know what is going to happen in the future later so that is the problem.

it will never happen. explain me, why would the us government ever allow something to replace their currency that they have no control over? that just doesn't make sense. if something is ever going to replace the dollar, then it will be something released by the us government, and no one else.

If bitcoin happens to replace the US dollar currency it would be possible.  Still the institute or committee behind the strong US dollar will be in control of the bitcoin.  They can finance anything in these planet to suck all those bitcoins they can hire  or even train anyone at any price just to make this happen.  So US dollar to bitcoin will just be a transition process still they will be on top of every bitcoin.

Our current symbolizes our country and the value depends on the status of our country so there is no equality when it comes to using each country's currency while with bitcoins there is equality regardless of what country you belong and I doubt inf the government will adopt with bitcoins.

Bitcoin can also possibly replace the US dollar currency if ever we have the capacity to do huge contractual trading between governments and other trading companies or institutions.

The dollar is way to strong to take over..its globally so strong the bitcoin is nothing compared with it.

One day it may occur that the true money tries to compromise with the fiat money. If this happens the dollar might be replaced by bitcoin. It takes centuries for that particular day to come. When people start to use bitcoin in all places that might be the start of such a scenario to take place in the future...
