I don't think so, maybe the the goverment won't agree that bitcoin will replace dollar because first of all bitcoin was not created by the government. We can't say when bitcoin can consider a real money because we can only earn it in the internet. Maybe one day bitcoin can replace dollar someday.
Well ofcourse the government will always oppose the Bitcoins as they are not controllable and no govt wants the people to get finial freedom. But still bitcoin will replace dollar soon by people themselves giving up dollars and adapting bitcoins. When bitcoin will become more famous and people will like only this currency for their international business the governments will not be able to prevent people to use this currency and then the governments will also go to adopt this currency. But if the government does not encourage Bitcoin, no way it will become famous. Even if public demands it. I wish it would be true that Bitcoin becomes very famous and I can leave my PayPal soon. Bitcoin is very different from paypal, fiat because they have their own purposes. Even if the bitcoin will be so famous it will not be enough for bitcoin to replace fiat or paypal because they are very different and other people are comfortable with paypal and other people are comfortable with fiat and so on... So i don't think it is not necessary for currency like bitcoin to replace others because it is just an addition.

Currently the us dollar is the most popular currency in the world. Many countries keep their reserves in dollars. This makes America's economy stronger. No, bitcoin will never be able to compete on an equal footing with the dollar.
Exactly, there are many powerful hands behind who have control on dollar and they don't want bitcoin to replace dollar because the main reason is bitcoin is decentralized and there is no central power who control bitcoin and one thing more dollar is accepted as a direct payment method in different countries of world and more people are familiar to dollar so it will never happen, that's what i think.

A lot of countries all around the world are constantly racing to get their reserve of gold and dollar, the current economy makes the dollar dominate the market since we import things from us like gadgets, food and other things, and I don’t think that bitcoin will never be able to catch up to that at least not at its current state. there are many powerful hands behind who have control on dollar and they don't want bitcoin to replace dollar
Fortunately no one single country nor some group of people will not be able to compete against a community. Bitcoin community is growing strongly and hence we could expect bitcoin replacing anything and it is completely beyond control of anyone.

Bitcoin has no power to replace the dollar, and i doubt it could replace any other currencie, knowing its a limited currencie, and the price is around 1000 dollars at the moment, this isnt enought to cover any currencie as i know, besides the fact that some of those coins are lost forever. Bitcoin is good for online transactions, even with fees becoming out of control, countries wouldnt let this happen even if it were possible.
Bitcoin has the power but it is not possible at this moment, Sooner or later it can replaced the Dollar. What do you mean by limited? Dollars also is Limited and any currencies, The production of money is controlled. Bitcoin is a decentralized currency which is the best to use world wide, And as per what you have said regarding bitcoin was good for online transaction, That features may also trigger for people to change preference, But for the record, Bitcoin is still impossible to replace Dollar ATM this thing will never happens because government will not take a risk to get this thing involved in any currency. This will be bad for them because they can't even control it for now. And let say if they can control it, who are responsible for everything that will be money laundry here? No one can really trace it here because it will blend with all of the address here without no one noticing. This technology is too good for government to take control of it

It may overtake dollar. But I don't think it will ever replace dollar. Moreover 15 years is a very short period of time, for such a thing to happen. Eventhough bitcoin has gained a lot of acceptance with the passage of time , But I don't think replacing the dollar or any other Fiat is easy. But yes with in few decades it may be used more than the Fiat currencies.

Brian Armstrong looks very serious about replacing dollars with bitcoins. Well in my opinion it is just true for those who really know what bitcoin is exactly! Not all the people in the world knows what bitcoin is, In my country I doubt 50% population know nothing about it and guess what my country is third most populated in world. Though dollar belongs to another country but it indirectly depends on global exchanges which may not be implemented with bitcoins. Can't imagine people exchanging with something that they really don't know about. So this is another side of moon so called dark side of the moon. I know I am not expert on this but if you think in a way of common people think then this is the core truth it may not happen so easily. What if this change brings economic crash to the country? Government may not be ready to do this as they having their stakes on paper money and those real world transactions. Changing them slowly also not possible because there is not enough bitcoins in the world and it can not feed vaults of government so fast. So in my perspective it may not happen. :-)

It is sure that bitcoin will not be able to replace dollars, bitcoin is just a shadow of the fiats. And dollar, used in nearly all countries in the world are not the only reason why. There are a lot of problems in bitcoin especially their scaling and volatility. Bitcoin's price are really not that stable, so why will we have a currency that is not having a stable price. Another one is it's transactions can be private so they can send bitcoin to anyone without no one knowing, which can be used to crimes and other illegal activities. It will stay as a digital currency and an asset and it will never replace any fiat as long as it has these problems.

Yes. You are right, the governments of some countries are very hostile to bitcoins. But I want to believe that they will change their attitude to the cryptocurrency. But the fact that bitcoin will replace the dollar is still too early to say

This technology is too good for government to take control of it If they can control it, then they can probably trace the transactions as well. They can create a universal bitcoin wallet whereas you have to identify your identity first before you can have a bitcoin wallet. This is totally absurd but we are just being hypothetical here. What do you mean by "it will blend with all of the address"? Every address is unique so if you sent to X address, if someone looked up the record of X address, they will see all the transactions from and to that address. There's no "blending" amongst the crowd happening here.

Don't doubt it, I'm sure that bitcoin isn't going to replace dollar anytime from now. Dollar will always be the main currency of US. And how come they will just simply allow a new crypto to change their currency which is decentralized and can put their economy in danger. They will only treat it as an investment but not a real currency.

Come to think of it, bitcoin will never be able to replace the dollar, I don’t see it happening, the stability is one of the reasons why it can’t replace it because its price is high and it could just go down at any moment, and the other reason, is that governments won’t allow it, because they don’t have control over it, they may use the idea of a digital currency to make one that they control.

Very well said man, I think you have already said all the reasons why bitcoin can't replace dollar. But when it comes to possibility, everything can happen because only change is constant. We need more 13 years and it is a long time many things can improve the bitcoin.

you're right. dollar is the most stable currency in the world. anywhere in the world, you can use dollar in purchasing things compared to any other currency. in short dollar can be consider as a worldwide currency.. i dont think bitcoin will be able to replace it. bitcoin is still new even if compared to other currencies which is in low with dollars. there still need a lot of work to do with bitcoin in order to replace any currency especially dollars.

If the Americans will give the opportunity to earn dollars on the Internet then this may significantly reduce the demand for bitcoin. In many countries, the wage level does not allow to earn enough money for living. They are looking for earnings on the Internet and the currency which will give them the opportunity to win in the competition.

Well bitcoin has its own use and a lot of great features but i think it still can't stand on its own and would probably depend on the dollar or fiat in general to survive. If we're looking at the next 10years, i don't see any way that btc or any alternative currency can replace the dollar. Though we may be looking at a great alternative to do transactions with the emergence of btc

Just look at Fiverr and other freelancing websites, most of them use USD for rate and they use Paypal to pay other people. I don't think it reduced the demand for bitcoins at all but I think it's actually the other way around. Back then, I used to do money making apps on my phone just because it's the only thing that's available or it's the only method that most of us know to earn money online. Now, there's bitcoins and the use of bitcoin have opened a lot of opportunities to all of us.
