Why are people scared of taxes?

I don't know why ppl are always scared of paying taxes.
taxes are actually a great thing but only if everyone pays them and if they are spend on useful things only. Just look out your window and you will see lots of things paid with your taxes you use everyday.

In my country, the most common reason is corruption. People tend to think that the salary that they earn minus the taxes will only go to the greedy officials. People in my country got their own mind sets that their money are being stolen away from them if the government meddle with it.

People with less income usually pay a greater percentage of taxes than wealthy and powerful people. It's not about being afraid.

That's not actually true at all, it's a well known fact the more you earn , the more taxes you pay and in reality that's not fair at all, everyone should pay their taxes according to a certain percentage equal to both the rich and the poor.

I don't care as long as the tax rates remain reasonable. But here in India, the taxes are always going up and it has reached the breaking point now. A few years back, the tax on broadband bill was 12%. Later it was increased to 12.36% and then to 14%. A year back it was increased to 16%. After the GST was introduced, the rates climbed to 18%. Where is this going to stop? At 90%?

People are scared of taxes because goverments lavy taxes unfairly. These vicious behavior of governmants makes people scare of taxes. Unfair taxes make people live in a poot lifesytle for sure.

Well I think, it depends on what country. Like in my country for example, the government has been known for being corrupt and their way is by taxes. So, people are assuming that if bitcoin were to have tax, the same thing will happen.

people are not scared of taxes.. they are scared of what becomes of their taxes. In many countries corruptions levels are quite high, and the taxes are ultimately losing their "purpose" which is to be re-invested into the community and make it grow (hospitals, roads, infrastructure etc.) the problem is many governments are pocketing the money, so people are reluctant to pay them in the first place. This is one interesting thing that BTC and other crypto's might solve, the fact that they are decentralized greatly contributes to reducing this kind of corruption

Well its possible that people are just tired of seeing nothing being realized with the taxes that they pay. It's not being afraid since we all have an obligation to pay taxes. If governments can just actually put to good use where people can feel that their taxes are going somewhere, then i don't think taxes will be brought in a negative light

They are scared of taxes because they don't want to see a large chunk of their monthly earnings taken by the government especially when they really don't know what exactly they use all those money for.

Your statement was quite good and correct. Getting taxes to anyone or citizens for me it is a legal law. Where all countries implemented this things according to your source of profit. The bigger profit you have is the bigger taxes you need to pay too.

It is all because to think that great portion of your salary goes to tax.  That amount that was paid to tax can make a big difference to your living.  It can actually buy many things and can improve your life.  But because of tax, and we are obliged to do so, we hate it.  And most of the times, we cannot see any improvement in our surroundings.

Probably because they feel that paying taxes is unnecessary, whereas paying taxes is a liability. At least we as citizens already enjoy the facilities provided by the state. Where can countries get money for public facilities that we use if we do not pay taxes?

I think it's just simply because they are scared that their taxes would just make the politicians wallet fat. Taxes are supposed to be used for social and public development, it should be used where people would benefit because it's their money. However, some politicians are corrupt, they are using the people's taxes for their own sake.

yes tax is necessary for country cause its helping poor people if its use as it have to, but sometimes tax are a fund to make a rich people become more rich cause they fund it and didnt intend to help people

So what are you saying? Are you saying that if we love our country, then we should pay our taxes? I would disagree with that logic. Loving your country doesn't mean allowing the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats to suck the life blood out of you. You can better spend that money in some charity organization or for giving education to the poor people.

I agree! Taxes are good for our country but the problem is the leadership that manages the people's wealth. Many of them in their own pockets put the people's tax and it was a huge burden for the development of the country.
