Why are people scared of taxes?

Like in my country in the Philippines where the tax is too big and you cant see where your taxes are going. It becomes very hateful for us to pay our taxes knowing attorneys,doctors and other occupation where they are earning a lot without paying their taxes. It became unfair for everybody. Government projects are only for the poor and never for the middle class who work double time and pay their bills right.

Exactly the same situation is present here in India as well (and perhaps in the other third world nations as well). The government completely ignores the middle class and taxes them to death. All the government schemes are for the poor only. The politicians only care about the votes and they never care about the middle class since the numbers are low.

There is no reason to be scared of taxes.Taxes is one of the resources of a certain country to be developed like roads,bridges,government schools and hospitals.The amount is too small compared to the infrastructures we see in our daily lives.Its a great help for the country.

Any responsible and good citizen ought o pay for their taxes it's like giving what is due to whom it is due, paying taxes gives you opportunity to help and support your government project for the good of the citizen

Can you really blame them,after working so hard to get your salary,  the government says you should give a piece of it to them for God knows what reason, they don't even account for the money they collect.

They didn't mind if our nation will progress, because many people wants only to have more in their own.. but they become rebellious by not giving their taxes. I think we should abide into our constitutional laws in paying our taxes.

People are scared of taxes becouse people think,when pay taxes,they are on the loss. And they feel as somebody takes somethnig what belongs to them. And so they feels like a slave, and that is not in human nature. That causes anger to texas, and anger causes scare.

Tax in my country normally for people who have high income.
If i have high income so i will be pleasure to pay tax.

Many people are really scared of paying taxes specially those who lived in middle class societies, because most commodities nowadays are too expensive. You need  think about such payment from entire needs of your lifestyle, then you need to understand and accept the fact that you need to pay your taxes behind those needs in your lifestyles. taxes are actually a great thing but only if everyone pays them and if they are spend on useful things only. Just look out your window and you will see lots of things paid with your taxes you use everyday.

People are scared to pay taxes because of the people who corrupt the money that people pays. Are you going to pay tax if money will go to a selfish people? Me? I'm not going to pay tax if thats whats going in Government.

No, you are getting it wrong and probably you are not yet a tax payer or you are not paying your tax since you don't know how the BIR works. Actually tax is just fine, nothing is wrong with it and besides there are people who are exempted in tax and you should not worry if your salary doesn't reach the minimum, you won't be having tax for it. With regards to your property and other taxes such as capital gains, or whatever, just pay it, our country needs your tax, otherwise some of its projects for poor and for everyone might halt.

Don't worry about the corrupts, they are common, not just in the Philippines.

People are mostly afraid of taxes for one thing, it is costly. Would you struggle a month of hard work with stress and deadlines knowing that almost half of it goes to tax? People want to make the most of what they earn, I’m sure of it.

Collection of taxes is very active but the public is unaware of the fact that where these taxes are going. The officials are very corrupt, they are putting each penny in their pockets. The public is provided with less chances and less opportunities and the taxes are very high, public is unable to pay such high taxes with less money.

Maybe their taxes are too high that it is almost equivalent to their salaries thats why they are afraid of it.

Yes. That is the problem. The taxes are too high. Consider the case in my country. Those in the topmost slab are paying a tax of 31% on their incomes. And that is not all. There are mandatory reductions for Provident Fund and Mediclaim. And all this is on top of the 5% to 28% indirect tax, which we pay as the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
