Why are people scared of taxes?

Paying taxes can improved one's income. Paying right taxes will the economy to develop and increase  interms of lively hood programs that will lead to successful economy.

Sure you take resources(money) from the productive, waste most of it on government itself and not productive(social) and anticipate that this will be good for economy. That makes perfect sense...

Nicely said . That's how taxes work and that's why people are scared of them and hate them. It's stupid that someone takes part of your income and redistributes it among other people someone decided are in need. What if I'm in need of your money Mr. Senator and I want some of your wage?
We are living in a society of masters and slaves. Not much has changed, really.

taxes are actually a great thing but only if everyone pays them and if they are spend on useful things only. Just look out your window and you will see lots of things paid with your taxes you use everyday.

Because the citizens of this certain country does not trust the government. They think that the taxes that the government is getring are just going to the officials own pocket and not for the sake and projects of the country.

As a taxpayer, my greatest fear regarding tax is not the contribution but the possibility that it might end up on someone else's pocket such as corrupt politicians. I understand that it is every citizen's responsibility to give taxes but as long as it will be used to improve tha country and the government services and it will serve the purpose why it was first collected.

People less interested in paying taxes because of the absence of direct incentives from the state. Taxes that have been paid are also not proportional to the benefits felt by the community. The public will pay taxes on the income it receives if they feel the public service is proportional to the tax payment, the fair treatment of the government and the clear legal process of the government.

Not actually scared but I got eye sore whenever my eyes run thru my payslip and my tax deduction are too high than expected. I end up thinking whom individual again will gain the tax of labor, it's like I am legally robbed.

I think, people are not scared but instead fear of the situation that the tax from the people are not properly managed but instead it goes to some corrup officials. People are working too hard to get a small salary with other deductions and taxes and all of a sudden the taxes that was paid by the ordinary employess will go to the wrong person who  is corrupt and used it for his/her personal expense.

Personally I believe that it is our duty to pay our taxes on time. Because as citizens of a particular country, we are obliged to pay the taxes and thereby help the nation building. But at the same time, as tax payers we have the right to know whether the taxes we are paying are used for constructive purposes or not. In my country, the RTI (Right to information) Act takes care of that.

Tax is really good had it been used to for the benefit of many. He in the Philippines, many people here are so disappointed in their government and not want to pay up for their taxes simply because they don't see any improvement. Imagine some of the towns here without doctors or health personnel. Roads that are impassable due to bumps and or destroyed asphalt. How can one be motuvated to pay taxes if these are the scenarios? The politicians just proves that they are corrupt lining their pockets with people's money.

Wow. That's a bit unfair and people would then have reason to be scared of their taxes. It's ok i think if peoplr are benefitting from such high taxes and if lives in general are becoming better but if not, then it's not worth it making politicians richer

It may vary from country to country. In my country's case, the government is so corrupt, that they use the people's taxes to have it on their own. That is why the majority of the people in my country, including me are scared of taxes.

You're an optimist, I do not see anything outside the window to be bought for my taxes. They simply create separate articles so that people from their income share with the government, and not give on the development of the state. There is no transparent policy, it is unclear where our taxes are going, this is the whole problem.

People are not afraid of taxes, they just don't wanna pay it, when people don't see any changes and anything that will benefit them, they tend to disregard paying taxes because for then its just a waste of money.

You are just comparing one tax without viewing the whole situation. For example in Russia and Ukraine it's very high tax on cars. It's 2-4x the cost of the same car in Europe. Also you are forced to use national currency and they are printing it like crazy. Hrivna inflated from it's creation to noverdays 27x. So I wouldn't say the combined robbery from the government is less in Russia/Ukraine. But the bright side is it's easier and safer not to pay part of them then in most of developed countries.

Mostly, people fear what they don't understand. Taxes are included. They don't know what taxes to pay, how much taxes they should be paying, when should they pay it and mostly how to lessen what taxes they pay. That is one of the reason they're scared of taxes. Next reason will be the penalties and punishment for not paying taxes, specially the ones you didn't know about

I dont think people are scared so much as they just dislike them. A small percentage of taxes get spent on something helpful or relevant so it leads people to not like them. And when the tax rate is high its also a negative. We do need them, just not on Bitcoin.
