Why are people scared of taxes?

I don't fear taxes, I loathe them. They enable a class of career politicians to get fat and pander to the lowest class to get reelected.

Nothing pisses me off more to read about an illegal immigrant from a sanctuary city, driving a new car, with an Obama-phone, and 4 EBT carts in her purse, causing a major accident up here.

I think that people are not really scared of taxes. I think it is more of the people not seeing the importance of giving taxes as they can't feel that paying it is worth it as they can't feel that it is being used as it should be.

I am not afraid of taxes.  I'm afraid on how the government will manage it. In a third world countries, usually taxes goes to the deep pockets of corrupt politicians. They are the ones who manipulate and doing things not good for the people.

That's a useful and educative conversation. Maybe people don't trust their governments to properly use the money they pay as taxes anymore... and that is why they are beginning to see taxes as theft. But in some societies - like the Nordic countries - most people are happy to pay taxes. And the money are really used properly. It works for everybody.

Because tax is sometimes is the reason why some people feel that their hours of work are worthless because of the tax that are being taken away in their own salaries.

People are not scared of taxes, they simple don't trust the government. They think that those taxes that they give to the government are lacking on what the community really deserves.

people are not afraid of taxes, it may be more appropriate that people are lazy to pay taxes because the funds collected from the people's taxes are not in proper use, there is a lot of corruption by tax officials, a lot of misuse of tax funds collected for their personal interests.
it would be nice if the tax funds collected from the people used for the benefit of society, used to build the country and all the interests of the country.

in russia one of the most covered taxes, direct plus indirect taxes reach 85-87% and back they are not returned by the state. Here the taxes are huge, but there they are expelled and health and roads and pensions .. and the other manna is heavenly and we have a cue from the roads up to pensions as you polublyush all this, and the level of taxes is depressing. . tataromongoles took a tithe of ten percent, and one of the ancient ones when dinosaurs were uttered for the prosperity of the state needed only two things stability and small taxes ..))

in my country tax fees are anormal if you bought a car you buy 1 or 2 more for goverment what kind of tax is this ? how do they use the taxes for people ? all lie.

Actually taxes are good, taxes are used for social development and to improve economic situation and to fund government projects. However, people are aware that some government officials are using taxes in a wrong way. Some are stealing taxes just to make themselves rich. That's why people, as much as possible, want to avoid paying taxes because they know that it is not being used properly.
