Well, that's it for Werder. They actually fought for a chance and then lost 2 games in a row at home, without scoring a goal.
Due to their history in the competition I hoped they would stay up, but the reality is that this season they really deserved to get relegated.
~10 years ago they lost the UEFA cup final, they were on a downward trajection since then.
It is a shame due to their history but other teams have great history as well. Maybe we will see hamburg in the 1st Bundesliga next season and if my memory is correct they were never relegated before this last bad season. At least, Werder is consistently bad, after I lost the money on them in first games after the restart I have now more than made it back with backing their opponents. Werder is not consistently bad. This season they do not have a good team but still they try not to be relegated. I think that they should stay at Bundesliga as they are a historical club in the league with a lot of fans on their back. Yeah indeed, although not a Werder fan but I hope they can make it and stay in Bundesliga. A win vs Schalke 0 and Freibourg, a draw against M'Gladbach... I mean after the pause they surely missed few opportunities but they deserve to stay. They have to win the remaining games (except Bayern)!

BvB have not yet given up the season and they had a tough win last weekend to maintain the 7-points gap with Bayern. At the same time, Bayern has stepped closer to the trophy and honestly I can not imagine how Bayern will lose the trophy in the rest matches of Bundesliga. They are so strong to lose the advantage of 7 points in rest matches. Thomas Muller has his best season in his career so far and with some matches left, he probably will break the record of Kevin de Bruyne with Bremen seasons ago.

Bayern thrashed all the tough opponents they were to face. There are still some tough opponents yet to face but i wouldn't consider much threat since they are also running through bad performance since Corona restart. Bayern vs Gladbach Werder Bremen vs Bayern Bayern vs Freiburg Wolfsburg vs Bayern Apart from Gladbach I don't think others don't have possibility to beat Bayern. Either way there is 7 points difference so need drop of points in 3 matches which i don't think would happen looking at the remaining fixtures.

In my candid opinion BVB chances of pulling an upset ended with their defeat at home 2 weeks ago against Bayern Munich. Dortmund also have a fixture almost as tough as that of Bayern's Dusseldorf (A) Mainz (H) RB Leipzig (A) Hoffenheim (H) Even while it's still mathematically possible for them to win the league, It's quite illogical to expect them to... It's game over, I'd say!
We've got DFB Pokal for the midweek, a chance at domestic double for Bayern Munich ? Saarbrucken vs Bayer Leverkusen Bayern Munich vs Eintracht Frankfurt **My predicted finalist in bold font.

Watching Bayern win everything would be very much boring. Would prefer some other to win DFB Pokal. At least would hope for a final between Bayern and Leverkusen to get some entertaining DFB Pokal final.

(...), i think that CL qualification is more important for them than Pokal trophy, maybe am wrong
For the club CL qualification is definitely more important imo, since it brings more money. For the players the DFB-Pokal is more important I think. Unless you play at Munich, it's not easy to win a title in Germany. And if you play for Leverkusen it is next to impossible In their long tradition in Bundesliga and with often very good teams, they just managed one title overall - the DFB Pokal in 1992. Internationally their only title was winning the UEFA-Cup in 1988. They came close to winning more (CL, Bundesliga), but always failed in the end. The DFB Pokal Final is always a huge event, but this year not of course in terms of atmosphere etc.. But winning this title is something you have forever and no one can take it away from you. No one will remember one year from now, who participated in the group stages in CL 2020/2021, but being victorious in DFB Pokal against (most likely) Bayern, people will remember and the players will be proud of it forever. Playing in CL next year will also be more attractive to a) sign new players and b) keep players happy that are under contract. The EL is not very interesting for the top players.

So Shalke 04 has the worst period of the last 50 years with 0 victories in the last 13 or 14 games which is hard to believe. For me is not so surprising as Shalke was fighting relegation a couple of years ago and since then they had a good year followed by a bad year and so on until this year when they kind start well. I was in 2012 at Shalke Steaua at Cluj Napoca in Romania and I remember the hole stadium stood up and cheering for Raul Gonzales. Anyway, I hope Shalke will find those 3 points this weekend.

For Shalke 04 good thing is they are middle of table and have nothing to worry but for next 4 matches all are very difficult for them and they have very slim chance to have points from these matches in next match they are going to face ruthless Leverkusen and they will try their betst to destroy them then they have to face frankfurt which is also not good place for them but they have time to think about this and have some good in nex season.

Schalke 0 is ruining the fun and everyone's bet. Here is how I feel the next couple of games for them: Schalke 0 - Leverkusen. It will be a training mode for Bayer Eintracht - Schalke 0. Cmon boys we should win dat game = result oO Schalke 0 - Wolfsbourg. Shit Wolfsbourg is a good team Freibourg - Schalke 0. What's the point of winning such game? Let's keep our awesome (0) record.

It is not about who you face, it is about the momentum most of the time. Werder has a very bad momentum right now and that means they may not be able to win no matter who they face.
I remember Watford like that, on the first half of the season they lost to whoever they played, doesn't matter who it was they were losing to almost everyone, something happened and a switch went off and for like 5-6 games they didn't lose, either got a tie or a win and suddenly even got out of relegation zone when they were insanely low, had like 9 points in 12 games and 12 points in 6 or so. That is the situation for Werder Bremen, if they actually fight tooth and nail and get back and have a good momentum, of course they could get out of the relegation zone, but if momentum continues like this, they could lose all the remainder games.

Not only that Schalke did not win in the last 12 games, during that period they scored only 4 goals. Incredible statistic, just for comparison they conceded 26.
They have drawn 5 and lost 7, collecting 5 out of possible 36 points. Form like that throughout the season would put them at last position, with 14 points collected throughout the whole season.

Look at that. Hoffenheim has dismissed his trainer, Alfred Schreuder. Must be the last straw to at least finish at the sixth place in the table.

Don't know if that was really the issue here because I don't think they planned reaching the UEFA Europa League at any cost. I was surprised when I heard the news because point-wise he did a great job imo. They lost some key players before the season with Amiri, Joelinton, Schultz, Demirbay. And on top of that he had to fill in the shoes of Nagelsmann. Not the easiest task for a new coach. Sure Hoffenheim didn't play that amazingly well and their games were sometimes hard to watch (from the games I have seen) but they could've atleast let him finish the season. Because sacking him now with only 4 matches left in the season and still a great chance to reach the Europa League is just weird. But I think that's business.

yeah, they have miserable second part of the season, Koeln had miserable first part of the season, and both will finish season in the middle of the table that is the usual case with middle table teams, and Schalke is heading to be one of these teams without ambitions, they were much better before, i remember when they signed Raul from Real, but that is long history now - Gelsenkirchen is also in downward route, since heavy industry is not priority for new green Germany, and support for the club is diminishing

So, a few weeks ago Bayern won 5-2 against Frankfurt in the league. There's a rematch tomorrow in the DFB Pokal. Can we expect a similar result tomorrow? I kinda want to add this one to my bet slip but i'm not sure: Also, Leverkusen are 2-0 in less than 30min...first finalist of the Pokal confirmed!

yeah, they scored third one as well, maybe one or two more until the end think that final with Bavarians could be interesting enough to watch, and would not set Leverkusen chances to zero

Looks like Saarbrücken hasnt got any chance against Leverkusen yesterday , havnt seen the game and just read it. Also i guess we will see the final Bayern Munich vs Leverkusen and i hope that Leverkusen will win that. But we all know that Bayern maybe has that luck and win that also.
