Schalke somehow reminds me of the HSV. Also a team with a huge fan base that is falling way behind the expectations, with financial problems and with a lot of drama in the management and the executive level (Kühne, Tönnies).

Yes, I think this is beginning to be very comparable. The problem with HSV was that they kept saying "This year, everything changes. This year we are starting." And that attitude broke their necks in the end. If they had started everything slowly, had smaller goals in stages, things would look different today. But the financial commitments and personal ambitions were simply too great.
Schalke must be careful that the same thing does not happen to them.

I'll never know how it feels like to be a fan/supporter of such a club but yeah, when I look at the lower leagues in La Liga or English leagues especially, seeing former great clubs like Deportivo Coruna, or even Leeds who just came back up, and I can understand how frustrated people are. Money seems to be the answer, but to even get out of the lower leagues is a challenge and as you say, pouring money into the club is a huge gamble, so everything must be built from strong foundations or you are broken even if you reach the summit.

I was really believe in Dortmund after the halftime and they played better as Bayern in the second half til Haaland left the field.
And as many times Bayern Munich has got the luck in the past the goal from Kimmich was a very lucky one and has given Munich the win.

But i guess Dortmund can beat Bayern this year in the league possible.

Dortmund played way better then Bayern. Bayern just had the luck with that goal of Kimmich which was great to see by the way.

I didn't got all the substitution Dortmund made.

BIG WINNER!

Yes. Build from strong foundation. That is so true. But unfortunately nobody is willing to acknowledge this and then implement the right measures. Actually, in such situations every stone must be turned over, every process must be questioned. But that is not done.

Money isn't always a solution. Sure, it helps a lot to become successful but money alone won't be enough when you spend it on the wrong players and have the wrong executives.

In the end it's exactly like you said. It's a gamble, a bet on more successful future. For a long time Schalke and its fans were used to travel through Europe playing Champions League and Uefa cup / Europa League. But to reach these competitions and receive the financial bonus for these extra games they also needed to invest. And when these investments start to not pay off at some point because you miss the international competitions, you also don't get that extra money you were hoping for .... It's really a vicious circle where you can end like Schalke with hundrets of million of debts (220 million Euro or something like that). Or even worse. You end like Hambur, Kaiserslautern, Nürnberg ....

What I find so sad about the relegations is that so much behind is also broken. Jobs within the club. Tourism like hotels, restaurants. Many fans not only go to the games but stay for a few days more in the city. Especially if it is a bigger city like Hamburg or Nürnberg.

Going for one risky bet today in Bundesliga in Union Berlin vs Mainz match.
Both teams have no win record so far and Union Berlin have good shot here against Mainz who fired coach after losing 4:1 in last round.
There will be limited supporters in stadium, and Mainz have more missing players for today.
Looking at h2h my bet would be asian handicap Home win or draw no bet Union Berlin.

Because we are talking a little bit about Schalke 04 in the last days here. The board of directors is complete again. It is even the first woman on the Finance Board of Schalke 04. Christina Rühl-Hamers has been given the responsibility for Finance, Legal Affairs and Personnel.

Me too. I think placing my bet on Union Berlin is good. They have the advantage to play at home. But what make me a bit unsure is that Mainz has a new coach. And the saying is Germany is "A new broom sweeps clean".

I'm unsure for the other games too.

Where is the risky part in that ? Wink Unless you play some AH-1 or more on Union, but your second bet doesn't suggest that. Union dnb looks pretty safe, nevertheless I am putting my money on Mainz today @3.35. For me it's pretty clear that Mainz players wanted their coach Beierlorzer gone and they did get the job done and he was sacked. A new coach, some unknown, was installed and I expect Mainz to be super sharp and motivated today and at least not lose. If they'll win is another topic, but I still don't see Union doing much this season. The draw at Gladbach was good for them, but they lost to Augsburg at home before and I rate Augsburg and Mainz pretty equal in terms of quality. Mainz has some issues with their personnel and sold Baku to Wolfsburg yesterday for 10mln, but I am not worried with that, this is all about motivation and passion this evening. I am more worried with the latest signings of Union (Karius, Pohjanpalo), but maybe they won't play already.

More risky would be clean Union Berlin win, and anything can happen here and I don't suggest higher stakes whatever outcome here, asian handicap or not.
I would never bet on Mainz here, but you can do anything you want with yoiur money, let's talk after match is over Smiley

Main is a very badly run club in my opinion. It had great potential and inevitably looks like 04 a bit for now

Guys what do you think about Kramaric's moving to Bayern from Hoff? Do you think it would be a good choice for Bayern and would that be a good career move for Krama?

I think that he should stay at Hoffenheim this year and pound in a great season if he stays injury free, going to Bayern now would hinder him in my opinion, but potential is there.Flick likes Krama and Lewa and Muller are not getting younger so he could be a good replacement and get a first 11 position there within a year and a half.

i think that a healthy and fit R. Lewandowski will always play in the important games. Kramaric would then be more likely to be substituted in the games like in the dfb-cup or if at all in the second half, with a clear bayern lead.
or bayern munich plays with 2 strikers when it comes to all or nothing in a game...

Agree with you. He will be built up slowly.

I think we can already congratulate the winner of today's match on Friday. Mainz should start playing football slowly. Otherwise they will be at the bottom of the table in the next few weeks.

Ain't gonna happen. Not for the 40 million that Hoffenheim is demanding. Bayern has some other positions in their team where fresh blood would be more important. Also about the age ... Kramaric is "already" 29, only 2/3 years younger than Müller and Lewandowski. So not the young talent who could replace one of them one day.

That match today was an application for one of the relegation spots. Mainz really has a hard time lately. Both on the pitch and in the media. The whole drama about Szalai, the strike of the whole team, the sacking of Beierlorzer. And then their choice for the next coach. Lichte was assistant of both Schwarz and Beierlorzer, both coaches were fired because they didn't bring the expected results. What makes them think Lichte alone will do much better now?! They should already start to look for another coach.

Easier than I expected Union Berlin destroyed Mainz with 4:0 result, they played better, had more goal attempts and shots on goal.
You can't expect to have any positive outcome for Maniz without single shot on goal... not much work for goalkeeper Andreas Luthe.
Bets won.

More interesting matches for next day and I have few more picks to add later.

Kramaric? He is indeed younger than muller or lewandowski but seriously bayern willing to spend the money on him? For how much? They should consider a long term contract striker who can develop and settle there for long time , are they run out of choice? Timo werner should have be a perfect choice but chelsea way ahead of them .

6 goals in the last 3 matches is indeed quite impressive, kramaric could continue this awesome performance with hoffenheim but things might will be so much different when he is in bayern.
Kramaric is 29 years old now and he might could help backing up lewandowski for a couple years ... not as a main striker tho.
Not sure it's gonna be a good option for both parties, kramaric is the first choice at hoffenheim but probably not if he choose to move to Bayern.

Wonder know if it faced Bayern what would be the result... Mainz, Schalke, Koln, Bremen are threatened of being relegated this season and it doesn't seems they are trying to do some efforts to change the situation..and look what we have, Leipzig vs Schalke and Koln vs M'Gladbach, spicy 3 red strikes by tomorrow in the bottom of the table?

Glad to read that Union Berlin has won there match about Mainz and my bet was right on the win !
Havnt expected that they win with 4 Goals and Mainz dosnt scored a single Goal but im good with that.
Lets hope there are some other matches today also that i have placed a bet on it .
