In your command line or batch file that you use to launch cgminer you need to put your own btc address (or user name) in for the user, and your password if the pool requires one.  If you post up your batch file we can show you exactly what needs to change.

Change what is in bold to your bitcoin address or username depending on what the pool you are using requires.

are you sure you double clicked cgminer_run?
now it looks like cgminer.exe is running without the settings given in that file? maybe because you double clicked cgminer.exe instead of cgminer_run.bat

You can't mine Eth with that device it is for SHA 256 coins only  Sad

You need a good video card like AMD 7800 series (some Nvidia cards work too) & up to mine Eth  Wink

I've recently bought the Compac, but when I try to mine Emercoin it gives me the following messages:
Code:
[2016-07-30 21:25:44.484] Started cgminer 4.9.2
[2016-07-30 21:25:46.553] Probing for an alive pool
 [2016-07-30 21:25:46.850] Pool 0 difficulty changed to 8192
 [2016-07-30 21:25:47.554] Network diff set to 485M
[2016-07-30 21:25:58.132] COMPAC 0: No valid hashes for over 10 secs, attempting to reset
 [2016-07-30 21:25:58.133] COMPAC 0 attempted reset got err:(0) LIBUSB_SUCCESS
COMPAC 0: Device failed to respond to restart
 [2016-07-30 21:34:24.101] COMPAC 0 failure, disabling!

And it does this with seemingly no end, what am I doing wrong?

the problem there is cgminer is thinking the stick is dead because the pool difficulty is too high so your not getting a share within a min or 2 (so its resetting it)
the solution is to find a lower difficulty port for that coin, and if u can't get lower dif port you will need to find an "easier" pool to mine at ;/

hope that helps Wink
your technically not "doing anything wrong" the difficulty of that pool is just too high for your little stick ;/ ( its at 8192, you need like 8 )

just unplug replug the miner while cgminer is running Smiley

but if the difficulty is still 8192, won't cgminer just do the same thing in a few mins without shares submitted even IF he just "replugs the miner"?
cause isn't it doing that because of the high dif?
just saying, telling someone to "reboot it" dosen't really give a solution is all haha

The pool's diff has nothing to do with shares detected within cgminer. Pretty sure that's been gone over two or three times in this thread already. Your advice is fallacious.

Bitmain's chip submits all diff-1 and greater shares, which is why the Compac's LED flashes as frequently as it does. Cgminer's activity timeout is based on the hashrate and the expected time between diff-1 shares, so if it detects no shares (or only errors) within that time it assumes the chip is having problems and attempts to reset the device. The vardiff sent by the pool only affects what shares cgminer sends to the pool, not what shares the Compac sends to cgminer.

These don't seem to work at all in a USB 3.0 hub.

I bought one and it works fine on USB 2.0 but 3 is a no go.  Any thoughts?

Drivers?  Yes, I used Zadic and the driver installed fine.
Powered?  It's an Anker, so yes.
USB hub works?  Yes, I have other devices on it that are working fine.
Software?  cgminer (Gekko release) and bfgminer (latest).
Works at all?  Only in the USB 2.0 ports of my PC.  The hub(s) (I have 2 different ones) are a no go.

If I can get these to work on USB 3, I'll be happy to buy a few more.

Thanks
