Congrats for Osaka for winning her 4th grandslam, hopefully she can continue like this as I like to see her play.

Mens final is under its way and it seems to be that Djokovic will win easily in 3 sets. He won the first 2 sets with 7-5 and 6-2 and is now up 3-1 in the 3rd set.

The current result in the third set is 4:1 for Djokovic and the match is practically over.
Djokovic once again showed why he is the best tennis player in the world and Medvedev is too nervous and has once again shown that he is not mentally at the required level to win the GS.

I also thought it would be closer (same for the match of Medvedev vs Tsitsipas) but congrats to Djokovic for winning yet another grand slam.
It was the 2nd grand slam final for Medvedev and probably more will follow. Next grand slam is Roland Garros and I hope that Federer will have returned by then.

Don't hope too much. Federer often decided to skip RG and clay season even when ready. I am quite sure he will give his 100% to be in top form for Wimbeldon and Olymipc games, everything else he will probably miss or play a tournament here and there for match fitness.

Cograts to Djokovic, he really showed his dominance once more. I was quite sure some of the new guys would take him out but his mental prowess is just on another level. In the end Fritz came closest and Zverev was the only one who managed to test him when fit.

Medvedev had a good journey up until the finals. Looked solid in his play but as Djoker mentioned at the end of his previous match that he's feeling a lot better going into the finals and was fully fit. Djoker is genuinely one of the GOATs. I know he isnt as popular as Federer and Nadal but on his day, he can outclass anyone. He has proven it time and time again. The fitness level that he produces is prime Nadalesque.

Congratulation to both players but once again I'm fascinated with Novak, the absolute definition of mental strength. He was on a mission and he made it, mentally present at every point, so focused, returns right under opponent's feet, served well (big thanks to Ivanisevic+ quicker court speed this year AO), destroyed opponent in cross-court exchanges (particularly backhand to backhand), had a dimension more (mix it up with net approaches and bh slices to interrupt the rhythm of a rally.
Opponent not so young but mentally not near the BIG3. We all expected 4-5setter and more than 4 hours of play but in the end it was stroll through the park for the world number 1.

Yes, I thought that we are going to see a five set match between the two, but Djokovic is still in the top of his game and didn't give Medvedev a change to comeback in this match. Djokovic is more of a cerebral tennis player as he mature. On the flip side, Medvedev should treat this as motivation for the next grand slam and not be discourage by the lost to Djokovic in AO.

Well deserved for Đoković. Australia is his favorite place by far, it's his 9th win there (50% of all his Grand Slam wins).

It will be really interesting to see his and Nadal's fight for the GS total. Federer and Nadal are on 20 each, Đoković has 18. Federer's practically done, Nadal is 34 and Đoković 33. Nadal will probably surpass Federer, Đoković can as well.

It's incredible that top 3 all-time GS winners all played during the same era. We will probably never see such quality of tennis again.

We are very lucky to witness three great players in history as I don't think we'll see this happen again in our lifetime depending on how old you are of course but to have three dominate players playing at the same time and dominating the sport might no ever happen again.

N. Djokovic is ready for the final with his performance which did not let Medvedev to repeated his success in ATP Nitto Finals last year.
Djokovics became one of the players with the most titles in one GS with 9 in AO and the rest in other GS tournaments, but Nadal tstill the most with 13 titles in RG.

Naomi Osaka is one of the most successful Asian tennis players, so maybe she will become a legend with many titles considering her age still young, currently She in seconds place after Barthy rank.

It sure is. These two play AO i FO like they play practice match. But lately Djokovic is also very good in Wimbledon. Considering this is Novak 18 GS and he can play for sure for several more years think that only Nadal is only person who can beat him in number of GS. Roger should retire already and be tennis commentator for some sport channel and enjoy he is done with tennis. He is trying to get back but he is old for it.

Novak and Rafa are players that will break Rogers record only question is on which number they will stop.

The young talent we are seeing in Men's tennis is very good but they won't get anywhere as long as the big three continue playing. The sad thing is that when the big three retire, most of the young talent coming through right now will be close to their 30's and some in their early 30's that's if Djokovic and Nadal can continue on to the age Federer is right now. Its going to be an interesting 3-5 years in Men's tennis.

@vella85 Djokovic was highly motivated to win this tournament, after all he had a terrible year and he wanted to silence his critics by winning this tournament. Furthermore if only had Nadal won his match, then I’m sure that the finals would have been more interesting to watch, but nevertheless I’m happy for Djokovic as he’s on the right track now.

For me there's only Federer. It is not just about the trophies, when we talk about the best players we have to take into account their style of play as well.

Đoković and Nadal are tennis greats, no doubt about it whatsoever. But both of them spent the majority of their careers playing reactive/defensive tennis, whereas Federer is the opposite.
He's the most brilliant player tennis has ever seen, he glides across the court even aged 40 and makes tennis look so easy and elegant.

I said years ago on here that Djokovic will most likely become the top Men's player to win the most grand slams because I could see how good of a player he really is and that the mental toughness to win even though he is down shows that he has what it takes to be the top grand slam wins. There is no doubt in my mind that he would of won last years US Open which would of put him 1 behind the top two but this was just a minor setback as we have seen he has now won the AO. Its going to be an interesting year to see which of the top 3 win grand slams.
