It should be mandatory to dress like gentlemen in the next Bitcoin Meeting, so we can speak about real world domination.

so when are we gonna hit 10k/coin, as OP suggested.
four years and seven months. Certain events have to take place first. Enjoy the next four years the whole world will burn in economic collapse and then will rise like a phoenix on PM then eventually, Bitcoin. january 2018, personally i dont want to live in a world where ive gotten rich off bitcoin, which is still to this day very much a closed shop in terms of becoming accessible to the mainstream population, while all around me people are suffering because the idiots who are supposed to be running our economies got it wrong, or deliberately made it fail ... im a capitalist, i dont like elites of any sort, monopolies whatever you like to call it, but if indeed we see worldwide fiat collapse and PMs and eventually bitcoin do rise up to become the "New money" do you really think the millions who havent got it are going to give a damn about it?

My bet is on Bitcoin the payment system and not Bitcoin the currency.

Why does money suddenly make people gentlemen?
Well, let's break that word down, shall we? Gentlemen comes, obviously, from a contraction of 'gentle' and 'men'. Men - noun, plural of man. Man - noun 1. an adult male person, as distinguished from a boy or a woman. 2. a member of the species Homo sapiens or all the members of this species collectively, without regard to sex: prehistoric man. 3. the human individual as representing the species, without reference to sex; the human race; humankind: Man hopes for peace, but prepares for war. 4. a human being; person: to give a man a chance; When the audience smelled the smoke, it was every man for himself. 5. a husband. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/manGentle - verb, adjective1. kindly; amiable: a gentle manner. 2. not severe, rough, or violent; mild: a gentle wind; a gentle tap on the shoulder. 3. moderate: gentle heat. 4. gradual: a gentle slope. 5. of good birth or family; wellborn. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/gentleLooking at that, it says to me that calling a rich man a 'gentleman' is a nice way of saying he's weak and soft, and otherwise quite un-man-like, despite his biological gender. Therefore, money makes you a gentleman because luxury makes one fat, weak and soft. I'd say one pretty much leads to another. unless you're to much of a man to become 'gentle' regardless of your finances.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."
- Carroll Quigley, CFR member, mentor to Bill Clinton, from 'Tragedy And Hope'

How much do you think that would be the amount of BTC that you should at least to hold in order to be member of this new elite in the near future? How many Bitcoins it takes to get into 1% of Bitcoiners. 100? 210? 2100?

There will be only 21*10^6 btc, world population is about 7*10^9, thus average person/organization will have no more than 0.003 btc... I am about 6 times richer with my 0.02 btc, but when I own 3 btc, I will be 1000 times richer, so I think 3 btc is definitely enough.

10btc I suppose even 1BTC could make someone rich depending on how widespread BTC becomes. Also, the value of a BTC will vary depending on where the person is perhaps. And to be in the top 1% will just depend on how much coin the early adopters sell off. If the average person only has 0.0001 BTC then 10BTC may very well put them in the top 1% at that point. But the fact that even 10btc could make someone rich someday is why I have told a few of my friends to invest and at least buy a few. Who knows right? It could be worth nothing or thousands! I think logically it will be only one of those two choices. So many of us are here for the long term to see how this plays out.

the growth will only be fueled by the adoption of bitcoin and businesses being opened with bitcoin, so with this said, it is a community effort to get everyone involved and be a part of the economy. We need more businesses and less speculators.
We are kindling. Eventually the spark progresses to inferno and becomes self-sustaining, grows without our active help. We have not yet reached bitcoin's tipping point. But things will happen very fast at that point. Can't say when and how, but it will be a very interesting and unforgettable series of events, the end of fiat and the ascendancy of digital currency, the last form of currency humankind will use for the rest of time.

Since then bitcoin has gone up, now at $100 a coin. But if something like government regulation/tax comes in the value can drop down a lot.

Supernode thread is addressing these same issues. It is best to think of this as a very real instance of a Alternate Reality Live Action Role Play. Just jump in by buying bitcoins, start to act as if they had tremendous value (which will cause them to have the value) and take your role as a Nobleman or Freeman! The power is there for grabs!
The registration fee is 0.5% of your bitcoins and that already buys you many things. We literally divide the world among us. Be prepared to spend 5% of your bitcoins annually on the game - flight, hotel and restaurant expenses, general living according to your lot, meetups and other marketing. Note: You are also expected to setup bitcoin businesses and you will have the chance to make the money back with interest. If not, at least the 95% are very much more valuable because of the interest you have been keeping up with the Supernode lifestyle. Jun 13:Bitcoin Capability Classification (BCC) is a general scale for classifying the capability of people in the Bitcoinworld. The system is logarithmic. It encompasses the previous Supernode classification. ULTRANODES
00-05 unestablished regal titles (one or more)06-10 Duke (approx. min. 10,000,000m BTC and behaves like that) HYPERNODES
11-15 Prince (approx. min. 3,000,000m BTC and behaves like that) 16-20 Marquis (approx. min. 1,000,000m BTC and behaves like that) SUPERNODES
21-25 Earl (approx. min. 300,000m BTC and behaves like that) 26-30 Viscount (approx. min. 100,000m BTC and behaves like that) Everything above this will collectively be called "Supernodes". Everything below this will never be called "Supernodes" so make sure to acquire and hold the 100 bitcoins required, if you want to be numbered in the Register of Supernodes! Now they are so cheap. Bitcoins, I mean. MININODES
31-35 Baron (approx. min. 30,000m BTC and behaves like that) 36-40 Baronet (approx. min. 10,000m BTC and behaves like that) 41-45 Knight (approx. min. 3,000m BTC and behaves like that) FREEMEN
46-50 Freeman 1st class (approx. min. 1,000m BTC) 51-55 Freeman 2nd class (approx. min. 300m BTC) 56-60 Freeman 3rd class (approx. min. 100m BTC) 61-65 Freeman 4th class (approx. min. 30m BTC) 66-70 Freeman 5th class (approx. min. 10m BTC 71-75 Freeman 6th class (approx. min. 3m BTCThese guys (above) are about 300 million in number, and hold more bitcoins than an average person in the world. More than 90% of the coins will be held by them, so the inequality of distribution of liquid wealth will stay, should minicoin reach $300 quickly. 76-80 Freeman 7th class (approx. min. 1m BTC81-85 Freeman 8th class (approx. min. 0.3 BTC86-90 Freeman 9th class (approx. min. 0.1 BTC91-95 Freeman 10th class (less than 0.1m BTC but can take care of himself) THE DESTITUTE 96-100 The Destitute People who are destitute cannot take care of themselves, for which reason the other must take care of them. It depends on the climate, political system (e.g. minimum wage), relative living standard and acceptable living standard for a destitute, how many there are. It can be up to 20% but can be as few as 2% of the population, how many are destitute. Currently even "the destitute" in Finland can typically buy several hundreds or thousands m BTC with different kinds of social aid. After a few months they are very well off. But we will have another group of destitutes soon when the Government money runs out. ::END::

While I share the belief that bitcoin or something very like it will play a major role in the future, I think the road there is going to be a lot rougher.
I imagine we will see a huge boom then a bust, after that those who stick around will build the meaning full economy that will allow bitcoin or its successor to dominate.
I don't care about the busts. I am riding this pig wherever it takes me. If it tanks, I'll have a helluva story to tell. I'm sick of half measures. I'm swinging for the fences and If I strike out, so be it. I won't be some mediocre drone living a life of quiet desperation. I believe in bitcoin and I'm going for broke, knowing the risks. I'm with you. Want to camp together if this shit burns? Topic: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen.Quote: I'm with you.
