The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

What should do people, who sent JINN for IOTA? I talk about step 5.

First 3 steps are the same
Step 4: Send UNENCRYPTED message from the same Nxt account to NXT-Q4N3-V2QJ-S3GT-FW4Z9, the message must contain the address obtained on step 3
Step 5: n/a

so just to confirm,
I will only need to send a message containing my iota address. and it's done. nothing else right ?

Disagree. Everything we've said is happening like we said it. Website went up on the 22nd, as planned, it is functional and everyone can start collecting. The collection process itself is no big 'marketing happening', you can't DO anything with IOTA yet, and you got 90 days to collect it, so collect it whenever you feel like it.

omg cant believe that there are still about 60 days left : ))

else, if and when all the iota claims are made (there are still people who haven't claimed their iota), the devs will start the next phase.

Just to clear up this confusion:

Everyone got another 60 days to collect, yes, but we'll launch beta and full release way before that. It's just that after we launch you will have to ask us directly to send you the iotas instead of having them automatically in the genesis Tangle. So for all practical purposes: no difference and these laggers don't affect the development of IOTA.

We are still aiming for full release in early Feb.

Other updates include:

More projects showing interest in using IOTA and we are preparing for IOTA presentation at upcoming IoT events in the coming months. Anyone that wants to actively participate in moving IOTA forward: send me a PM and I will invite you to our Ryver.

Im following the steps to claim my Iota, and I generated an address.

It says to put it in the "form below", but the only one I see is the one for Nxters??

Is that the one I use? Is there a separate one? Is my browser screwed up and not showing it? IDK?

I think, NXT'ers must NOT use this "form below". They must Send unencryoted message to one Nxt-Account (NXT-Q4N3-V2QJ-S3GT-FW4Z9).

User who bought Iota with BTC, only they need to use this "form below". If you have made another error, you can always generate a another address by collect.iotatoken.com if you yet not send the confirm transfer with BTC. I do not know more, more information can give you devs.

Look forward to the presentation. With it we all can become the IOTA sales persons. After all, we all bought the software, right? let's re-sell the software to other companies.

Definitely not an investment. No way. It's a token, for users. Got it?

IOTA as lib

don't know how many LOC the current core has but a serious bounty to port the core
to C would be very usefull. many service and communication related apps out there
could benefit form a painless 'snap-in' solution.

not only for micro/nanopayments like mentioned here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1216479.msg13076239#msg13076239

sure, adding a small com layer connecting to a remote host is a another solution
but able to run a full node, wrapped into a language/OS agnostic lib gives
any app dev much better control no matter in what lang those apps are written.
