No it is not, because I can't buy anything with it in the local market to buy things.. Its not cash in hand... We can use it just for online transactions, that too many sites are not accepting btc till now. ..
you can't buy anything with bitcoin ? lol you lie. you never see google ?
you should look this, you can buy anything in the store. list store who accept bitcoin, any 75k merchants who accept bitcoin
https://www.shopify.com/blog/10480345-75-places-to-spend-your-bitcoins

If you read what he says he said there are not too many sites accepting it and that's true. The shopify site you linked to just lists a load of crap basically and I pretty much never heard of most of them and that's the big problem. At the moment bitcoin is just a niche thing. Sure you can spend it at a handful of sites and a load of crappy ones but none of the sites or shops I want to spend it at currently accept bitcoin and that's not very good for those who want to use it as a proper currency.

It's true that many people are not treating it as such, I have also seen this kind of behavior between some bitcoin owners. I can't understand this lack of seriousness to manage adequately their bitcoins, especially when there are thousands and thousands of newcomers willing to do almost anything to gain some of these amounts.

That's not a real and logic reason to say that Bitcoin isn't real money, simply because you easily could convert your coins into cash and buying which you would like to buy if you can't directly with Bitcoins, so i think it's for sure real money

Yeah, either you pay in online for shopping or else you get fiat currency in your hands by converting bitcoins to fiat, so at the end of the you have money in your hand, so its a real money.

Its real to me as I can convert my bitcoins to my local currency whenever I want, so If I am holding fiat currency which is real to all of us, then bitcoin is also a real money to me as I am getting fiat by converting my bitcoins.

It is now many people consider bitcoin as real as money to buy people are already accustomed to using bitcoin as transactions and rarely use the money, that's why bitcoin like real money.

Not only you can buy most services and goods with Bitcoins nowadays , but also it's easy to convert it into fiat anytime, using one of the multiple trusted exchanges online, and that's another reason to say that Bitcoin is real money

Bitcoin is 100 percent real money to me. I must ask myself why not ? You can do many things with Bitcoin and it has a value.
Bitcoin has a value, many people want Bitcoin. And it is not so difficult to get it. But you can buy it and you can buy things with it.

You mean it is difficult to mine it..
It is very expensive now if we look only 4 years behind

4years ago bitcoin isn't a popular in internet, and only a litle people interesting to mine it , that why the difficult is very low, now we can see some biggest company interesting to adopt and accept bitcoin, and the difficult rise every day.

I'm not sure I think of it as real money.  I sort of think of it as an investment right now, like gold or silver.  To me, it isn't widely used or accepted enough and the value is not stable enough to consider it real money.

There's a consistent theme that I see popping up on here that I find rather fascinating, and that is the way that many posters perceive BTC.

What do I mean? People doing things with BTC that they'd never, ever dream of doing with their dollars - gambling as an 'investment', or gambling at all, pouring coins into bullshit investment schemes run by totally anonymous showers of shit, lending on here to shambolic morons, asking the question 'where do I get free coins?'

Considering how much of a pain up the arse it can be to obtain coins and keep them safe and their future potential, I find it bizarre that there's such an extreme disconnect. I would've thought it should be at the opposite end of the scale but that's clearly not the case for many.

Why do you think this attitude has developed and where do you stand yourself?

I think that because of bitcoins inherent volatility and promise of great wealth in a short period of time (or, more likely, poverty in the same amount of time), it attracts the gambling-type of crowd. People who buy bitcoin are doing because either A, they believe that bitcoin is the future and over a long enough period of time, they will become very valuable - or B, they want to make a lot of money really quickly. I think the majority of people buying bitcoin fall into the B category, and I think the type of people who fall into the B category are the type of people who you are talking about in the original post.

That got a nice ring to it. The future of currency. Yes it is or can be an online currency and nothing else. Of course it will be replicated or some will try to recreate something like bitcoin. Actually it is happening now. If a future is seen in an object then someone will try to duplicate it or copy it.

yes bitcoin is real money as are many other cryptocurrencies.  you can buy things with bitcoin, you can buy bitcoin, you can sell bitcoin, you can get it exchanged, and the value fluctuates.  all of those aspects sound like its 'real money' to me.
