No, i would always have that thought of cashing out my BTC as soon as the price raises. I dont think its more real because maybe you cant use it for everyday activities atleast yet. I am a person who does not keep more than $100.

Bitcoin could become it's own currency one day.
Where bitcoin could be independent from any fiat.

One day that will just take years to be the number one.
Bitcoin is like a real money you can buy home cars or other things.

There is no way that bitcoin is no money because is just something that you can purchase and sell everything.

I do not view it as a real money probably due to the difficulty in exchanging it to cash or buy items with it in my country, I use it to pay for online items and transactions though.

You can buy goods and services with it. You can accept earnings in it, you can pay bills with it. So yes, it is money.

They are frivolous because of the way that they get the Bitcoins.  Whether it be from mining or something else that actually took little effort, they take on the hint of "found money".  The same would be true if you were walking down the street and found a $20 that you did not immediately need for anything.  You would blow it on something useless.  It is not the fact that Bitcoin is what it is, it is the fact that they did not work a 40 hour week to obtain the BTC.

A lot of people have been living on Bitcoin only for the past 4 years, ask if they think if Bitcoin si or isnt money. I think its pretty stupid to still be arguing if its or isn't money.

I feel bitcoin is more 'real' than normal fiat money.
Which can be tinkered with and produced with quantitative easing endlessly.  Wink

Well, it is real money for me. But the fact it isn't real money for everybody in the planet makes I risk it a little more than regular fiat.

I guess that's a good thing but it's not happening in near future. We might as well get half life 3 before this happening lol  Cheesy

In my opinion real money is money that can be used to purchase services and obtain goods, This can be done by BTC in a large number of fields plus BTC can be exchanged to USD and plenty of other currencies through exchanges and then used to buy items, it's real cash IMO

Yes friend Agree with you BTC is real cash now a day because there is nothing which you cannot do with BTC. If you are not able to use it then must try bitcoin debit cards. Hence now a day’s BTC is real cash because it is used in purchasing online and also offline in the form debit cards.

No, because I cant use it to pay something in my local region yet.. I hope soon there some shop in my region accepting bitcoin.

you can use it online, come on, anyone on this planet, minus third world have access to internet, there is really no excuse anymore to use bitcoin

i think people are more scared to lose their money when they buy bitcoin, that's the real reason, they still see it as an asset for investment, when bitcoin is more of a young currency
But it will takes much fees if use it for online thing, because I have to pay extra for shipping. That will cost much from my wallet.

Well that is just beter to collect bitcoin and trade or or hold it.
For shopping online is just better to just fiat for the in your country for shopping.

Bitcoin is nice to but something when if they are some discounts like in Black Friday.
I'm thinking this, well I would rather use fiat for buying something, I dont really like buying something outside my country, cause the fees..

well that is true for fiat also, so what's your point there? usually when you buy online you have fat better choice than with phisical shop
To be honest, I dont really like buying outside my country, it will take much fee. I would rather buying with fiat on online shop that cited in my country.

It was explained by above comments. I could pay many products using btc, like  domain, gift cards, host etc. I could use btc to donate to charity as well, receive some incomes in btc for the online jobs.

I am starting to feel more comfortable with Bitcoin compared to PayPal transactions. Smiley
Hopefully the price rises and I get some profit from what I bought.

According to Wikipedia, "Money is any item or verifiable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a particular country or socio-economic context, or is easily converted to such a form."

So I don't know what you mean by "real money." But since you can use Bitcoins to perform payments for goods and services and repayment of debts, I would consider it "real money."

But the purpose of this thread is to share the present status of bitcoin ecosystem in your county/city which allows you to use bitcoin as real money or not.

Secondly some bitcoiners, view bitcoins as investment and saving bitcoins even they are having many opportunities to use bitcoin as real money.

Yes, bitcoin can be a real money or an investment based on your view, amount of holding bitcoins and bitcoin payment adoption in your city.

In our city it will take some time to get established, as there are minimum people know about it. Uneducated did not even hear its name. And about the value of bitcoin, it is currently widely used as investment to increase his/her fiat with the increasing value of bitcoin.
So, for me bitcoin is still investment.

And you can do more transactions if you get more profit. Great thing is it is moving really great. It like a temperature where it rises and falls. Just be sure your on the right spot when that happens.

Bitcoin is always better then paypal transactions as paypal has heavy transaction fees and bitcoin is very cheap and fast, and I convert my bitcoin to fiat currency so bitcoin becomes real to me as I can buy goods online, convert it to fiat and even transfer it to my bank account in fraction of minutes.
