Honestly this is basically showing how much Lebron cares about JR. Smith and how he values his contribution to the team back in Cavs time as well. Sure he did one amazing and unbelievable mistake but at the same time he was one of the key players that helped them get to that point as well. So in the end if Lebron didn't intervene and asked Lakers organization to not hire him, that could mean that he has forgiven JR for what he did and he thinks that he is more helpful than useless with how many games left in the league. Plus we all know JR and Danny playing together with a decent point guard would mean a lot of shooting and Lebron can be that point guard at any given moment, and they would have a very good defense with that duo as well.
I think Bron's mentality has really matured, I'm sure he value much of JR Smith's contribution than one mistakes he made and it has been forgotten by him. And it will really bring the best of both players, they are comfortably playing along many years, and with Lebron playing point guard and finding JR in transition or even alley-oop passes will be good to see again. Unless the name of that player is Delonte West, LOL. I don't think that Lebron has fully forgiven him for screwing his mother. We will see how JR Smith will adjust, it's not just Lebron or Danny there's a lot of players and of course will he be a perfect fit for the Lakers.

There is also some sort of urgency as well, looking at the Lakers roster there is a good team there, I don't know who will join and I don't know who won't but I know one person and thats Avery Bradley, he will not be going to Orlando and honestly getting JR. Smith instead of him in a situation like this is awesome, that could be the best type of alternative they could find in this kind of situation.
So I said that Lebron probably forgave him but at the same time when reconsidering the situation I think there is also a fact that lebron is almost 35 (or is he alread?) and that means Lebron needs a ring very quickly otherwise he will be too old for another ring or at least matter during that championship. Which is why I think even if he didn't forgive him for that, he could still continue to be a professional about this to get another ring.

Nets actually didn't just acquired these two players so that they could actually compete for a ring, we all know that even if they are a good team and even though they are on eastern conference which has been on a historical run of not being as power as west combined (not championship but total wins and losses of conferences) that team is still lacking a lot of players. Kyrie Irving in no means is the best point guard in the league, there are few who are better than him, Durant could race for the best SF or PF but he is coming out from an injury, and rest of the team is league average at best, they are not great players.
When you face teams like Lakers who have 2 amazing players like Nets but also a great team around them, or Clippers who have once again 2 great players but a great team around them, you realize that championship requires more than just superstars but a good team around them.

Well right. It's most of them that will give a contribution to the team. And I also think that Lebron has already moved on with those issues and probably the management talked to him before getting JR Smith.

Right, no need for him to dwell in that JR mistakes, time to him to focus on getting another ring not just for him but for the Lakers franchise, thus cemented him as of the greatest ever, winning 3 rings with 3 different teams.

I think they need a better one to handle the ball well and I don't see JR Smith on that especially on passing ability, it's more like they'll rely on Rondo on that more like a reserve Smith on that or they can select Cook if he's playing. Right, no need for him to dwell in that JR mistakes, time to him to focus on getting another ring not just for him but for the Lakers franchise, thus cemented him as of the greatest ever, winning 3 rings with 3 different teams.
I think LeBron will still be fit on the league even by 40 just looking at his physique he can still handle that as long as he remains healthy.

Why are you even concern on who handles the ball, we have Lebron James who handle the ball for the starters and we have Rondo as a reserve, with that format they have been successful so I don't think they will change that. JR Smith is important as he is a good 3 point shooter but he needs to maintain consistency if he wants to help the team especially in crucial times. Right, no need for him to dwell in that JR mistakes, time to him to focus on getting another ring not just for him but for the Lakers franchise, thus cemented him as of the greatest ever, winning 3 rings with 3 different teams.

Lebron is smart and discipline so he will last in the NBA, with his current position now, he can focus on the assists and just contribute a bit in the points, that would not be a burden to him unlike his old role which he needs to be physical going in the right just to score.

I'm not aware about this, is this like a preseason before the NBA opens up their regular season? I believe the NBA will formally resume in July 30, 2020?

I'm not aware about this, is this like a preseason before the NBA opens up their regular season? Scrimmages are like friendly games, serve as practice. So yeah, it is somewhat similar to summer league that NBA has every year. While in summer league teams mostly use bench or G league players, in these scrimmage games teams will most likely use their main players, and each team will play 3 games. I believe the NBA will formally resume in July 30, 2020?
Yep, that's still the plan. But until I see the first game, I am not sure that league will start on that date. As expected, numbers are going up. But better to get it now, then in a couple of weeks, or even worse, when playoff starts.

I was going to say it but sir @Rikafip did it fast . Well, it is like what he was said. It is used to take note individual's ability, and chemistry to one another. It is really necassary for now considering the long break they have. They need to rediscover, and get their touch with basketball not to mention some others wouldn't be able to play with the exact same players 'cause others have sit out, and others got some temporary exchange.
Why are you even concern on who handles the ball, we have Lebron James who handle the ball for the starters and we have Rondo as a reserve, with that format they have been successful so I don't think they will change that. I kinda don't like JR Smith being included first, as the exact scenario of what he did is still fresh in my head haha . However, upon seeing your response/reactions guys on his acceptance, I think he would still do better, and I think he won't make bad plays like what he did back then, so silly but everybody commits mistakes. And after all, there's no good players available for Avery's replacement except him.

Correct because they still have time to recover from the virus but once the regular season start, we might not be anymore seeing news that a player is positive with the virus as they will not be leaving the camp. I believe the NBA will formally resume in July 30, 2020?
Yep, that's still the plan. But until I see the first game, I am not sure that league will start on that date. LOL, still have doubts? Me too.. I was thinking of a possibility that NBA might not successfully launch if things get crazy, you know when more and more players get infected that would make the game not exciting to watch anymore.

Which is still possible to happen since the virus still spreading, players and those people who are in part of the team can still be infected and still prone to every risk that brought by this virus. Unless we hear the commentators start to shout and welcome each player from the team that's the sign that the game really starts and the league is completely resuming. Excited but still concern with everyone especially the players who will play once the resume start.

They have measures prepared as they restart the season. We can find that information here - https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-disney-world-rules-revealed-details-of-how-the-bubble-will-work-as-league-plans-to-resume-play/Unless we hear the commentators start to shout and welcome each player from the team that's the sign that the game really starts and the league is completely resuming. Excited but still concern with everyone especially the players who will play once the resume start.
Once the season resume, I think there's less risk that the virus will spread as they will be staying in one location and there will be a drastic measures that will be in place in Orlando. But let's be optimistic that they will be able to finish the season successfully for their benefits and mostly for the benefits of the NBA fans.

They really need to find a replacement for Avery Bradley, but I don't know if JR Smith will take the first five position though. We will see, but definitely, he is good or even better compare to Avery (no disrespect to Avery fans). Jr is good when he gets into the rythm offensively, and Avery on the other hand do the same. But, I'd take Avery all day over Jr, I mean Avery's defensive hustle and awareness is underrated and is better than Jr. There's a series of defensive plays from Avery in this season on YouTube, on how he shut down most of the players who he guarded. Nevertheless, Jr would still be a good replacement for him. Can't wait for the season to start lol

But Avery is an all around player to me, and I wouldn't call it replacement though as Avery offers more in the table specially in the defensive area. We have seen him playing high intensity defense to some of the best offensive players we have in the NBA and I would say that he has successes as well. I would say that Lakers just needed to fill the gaps and Jr was the next logical choice for them specially with his history with Lebron (the positive one).

I was excited at first too, when I heard the news, but then I read that unfortunately those scrimmage games won't be televised. I don't know why though, as Summer League games are usually available on TV. Oh well, we will have to wait for a few weeks more, what else to do..
