Is there any other wallet currently available that supports Trezor? I've been having problems with it freezing at the loading screen on myTrezor.com and would like to try out another wallet to see if I have the same problem.

Electrum does, but there hasn't been a binary release made available yet, you have to get it from source.

I do have Xcode and Brew. What should I do then? BTW, I'm also seeing people pointing out to python-trezor so that's yet another thing I'm trying to make sense out of it in addition to the Electrum plug-in for OS X.
Thx for your help.

I sucessfully installed Electrum 1.9.8 release from the github repo following the MacOSX instructions here
https://electrum.org/download.html

As you already have xcode and brew installed I assume you are comfortable with the command line !

I haven't yet tried the latest master with the Trezor commits as I am still awaiting my classic first edition to reach me.
https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/commits/master

This plugin
https://github.com/m0mchil/electrum/blob/master/plugins/trezor.py

clearly requires python-trezor
https://github.com/trezor/python-trezor/tree/master/trezorlib

Code:
try:
    from trezorlib.client import types
    from trezorlib.client import proto, BaseClient, ProtocolMixin
    from trezorlib.qt.pinmatrix import PinMatrixWidget
    from trezorlib.transport import ConnectionError
    from trezorlib.transport_hid import HidTransport
    TREZOR = True
except ImportError:
    TREZOR = False

The webbrowser plugin is completely different, you need it to setup your Trezor with myTrezor (unless you want to setup/restore your Trezor with the python tools)

Are you referring to installing the Ubuntu's *Development version* and not the "Latest release" in that link?

Does your install process for OS X create any .app entries as well in your Applications folder. I was able to get Electrum wallet to start via command line only but couldn't locate the .app/.dmg file that the github *Developer version* README file refers to.

Does the python setup provide additional features not available in  myTrezor (order of change address spending, freeze, etc?)

In the long-run, I'd like to be able to restore access to all my private keys in the unlikely scenario Trezor completely ceases to exist or USB interface is discontinued.

I have successfully built Electrum.app with trezor plugin support (brew)
Download and extract the latest release
    https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/releases/tag/seed_v7

Code:
    sudo python setup.py install
    python mki18n.py
    pyrcc4 icons.qrc -o gui/qt/icons_rc.py
    sudo python setup.py sdist --format=zip,gztar
    ARCHFLAGS="-arch i386 -arch x86_64" sudo python setup-release.py py2app --includes sip
    sudo hdiutil create -fs HFS+ -volname "Electrum" -srcfolder dist/Electrum.app dist/electrum-VERSION-macosx.dmg

You can use Trezor as password manager. A step towards using the Trezor for logging into online services.

Is it already finished ?

Not even beta yet: "Note that this is alpha software."

But yes, pretty interesting project indeed.

Will there be a version with metal casing anytime soon? Great product, anyway!

I want to know the same thing, silver, gold, white glass, other? Just not white plastic, and it would be nice if it was in time from Christmas, then it could be one of my gifts

I'm waiting for multibit HD, since I use multibit and am comfortable with it.
I also hope that in the mean time Trezor does a sale or comes out with a
more durable version. Any idea when multibit HD will be compatible? Or any
sales coming :_)

In time it will come. The hardware is already cheap. On my receipt it said like 15 or 20 dollars for the trezor and 90 or 95 dollars (or something similar) for "security services". I think its fair. I do hope however hope that they will gradually start lowering the prices. Some people like myself were excited enough about this project to spend >100 dollars and they captured people like me. I paid it. But there are many people out there who are excited but not >100 dollars excited. If they start lowering their prices maybe 10 or 20 dollars at a time, they will be able to capture the people who are excited but not as excited as me. Once they saturate the market for people who are willing to pay >100 dollars they will find themselves in the situation of choosing between no profit or less profit. I'm sure they will chose the latter.

Where's the Trezor support ?

Due to the complexity of getting MultiBit HD working with a "soft" wallet we've moved the Trezor support into a different branch (mbhd-trezor) which is periodically updated from develop. Once the main MBHD code has finalised then we will be integrating Trezor into the main branch.

Multibit HD is a complete code and design rewrite so you may not feel familiar with the new version. You will also need to move your bitcoin across. Multibit 1.x has rigid transaction fees and forced a 0.0016btc fee to transfer from my mining address.

I have never used multibit before, but I was planning on trying it out, once they added trezor support.   With my trezor, I have basically been just using the web wallet that comes with it.   It gives me enough functionality without confusing me with too much extra stuff.   I like the ability to be able to just log onto the web page to see balances as a watch only page (until you plug in the trezor)

at present mytrezor requires you to download a browser plugin, and to transact using a site developed by the makers of the hardware. since the whole point of getting a trezor is to increase the security of your stash, and diminish your need to trust anyone, the setup is less than ideal.

now you could review their code and satisfy yourself that it does not introduce vulnerabilities. but the trezor developers themselves cannot expect everyone to go this route, since the device is intended for average users. which is why it is important for other wallets to incorporate trezor compatibility.

For a lot of people, it is important because they want to keep using the bitcoin client that they have grown comfortable with, but with an additional layer of security that the trezor provides...

This is all true, but such discussion belongs to the the forum of respective software users like. I believe that the Trezor devs did provide Pi shields to Multibit devs one year ago and they still decided to postpone the support to MBHD which seems to never happen. There is not much more we can solve here... The device is out there and if Multibit still does not want to provide support for thousands of users who have it, they will loose those users.

And frankly, if you have BIP32 implemented (which I highly recomment for *all* wallets) then supporting Trezor is not that hard.

IMO, the trezor web wallet has enough functionality, to not need another BTC client along with it.   You can see the balances without needing to log into anything, and you can send coins with ease.   I guess if you want to be able to send BTC from your mobile device, you should also have a blockchain.info wallet or coinbase or something like that, but as far as savings go, you don't really need anything beyond the trezor wallet...

For smartphone spending, I use Mycelium, which is quite well thought out.  For saving, I love my Trezor as is (with mytrezor.com), and will absolutely buy another one as a backup.  However, I still think I need some serious time and regular use to feel comfortable to get rid of paper wallets, and go all-in with the Trezor.  I can see that happening, but just not yet.  With paper wallets, I know that I am in complete control, and that gives me comfort.

Is there any possibility of having LTC support added to the Mytrezor web wallet?
