Just got my Trezor.  Transferred some from Armory cold storage.
Just wondering how much BTC would you be comfortable putting in it?

I feel comfortable putting all my BTC on it.  100+ ...  wallet32 from android you can reproduce your wallet if you need.  That's just me though.  I believe that many of the major wallet dev's will implement Trezor compatibility very soon.

It's sort of crazy, there is a psychological barrier to overcome, at least for me. It took me quite a while to move larger amounts from Electum/Core to a paper wallet. Not because I didn't trust the technology, but because paper (memory cards, or ...) feels even less tangible.

I encounter the same problem right now with my Trezor and my intermediate solution is to keep the paper untouched where it is, but move parts of the pocket money to Trezor. This feels the most secure to me, because I don't intend to spend the cold stored coins anyway and adding exposure only adds risk in my opinion. On the other hand it's great and awesome to know that the day-to-day coins are pretty untouchable now, too. Wink

The only thing missing is support for raw transaction signing, but I haven't explored all options yet and only played around with the Trezor "web wallet". I do a lot stuff that involves handcrafting transactions, but the flow has changed from "transfer coins from Electrum to Core/daemon dev wallet" to "transfer coins from Trezor to dev wallet.". Wink

I have some Feedback.

Didn't unpack mine, but a friend did so yesterday.
He only bought it because I told him so, as he is not deeply interested into technical stuff and therefore wasn't able to understand in complete what he was getting - except it will be a hardware wallet.

PRO
-----
I knew it wouldn't get too complex, but the whole process of updating firmware, initializing the Trezor as well as using it the first time (on mytrezor.com) is so ridiculous fast and simple, I'm really impressed!
In short time he realized what he actually holds in his hands (after clarifying some of his questions) and is since then very excited about it.
Didn't take much time until he understood how simple and secure this device is (especially for the average person without some IT knowledge).

His words: This product is more important for spreading BTC into mainstream than some merchants or whatever.
Just get in contact with people who know nothing about private keys and have a bunch of malware on their Laptops (9 of 10 Windows systems are 'infected', 1 of 5 macs, most androids, ...) and you know what I mean

CONTRA
-----------
Nothing substantial so far. The only minor thing I recognized which could be improved, was the following:
When visiting mytrezor for the first time, I was asked to install this plugin and I found no way to verify the download.

When plugging in Trezor the first time there was a message that there's a new Firmware (without the cancel/update buttons).
It was mentioned you should press both buttons 'while connecting'. I pressed both and nothing happened. Unplugged the device, re-plugged it. Nothing happened. Was wondering whether I screwed it somehow.
Then unplugged it again, and re-plugging it while pressing both buttons on Trezor (hard to get the USB plugged in while pressing both buttons when you do not have a third hand) and I finally got the upgrade button.

Maybe you can make it more clear that one has to remove it. I mean 'while connecting' says somehow what to do, nevertheless I would help to point out clearly: 'disconnect it first and then press both buttons while re-connecting it'

Beside that I have the impression that plastic might not be the best cover for daily middle/long term usage.

SUMMARY
-------------
10 of 10, especially when concerning the security level combined with the usability!
I'm still *very* impressed. Smiley

All you need now is incredible good marketing enabling the average BTC user to understand what this thing actually is and how smart,simple&secure it works.

Agreed, Trezor is vital for more mainstream adoption, and very useful for experienced users as well.
I am glad to have donated (a very tiny bit) for this project.

Hopefully there is a lot of interest and it will be possible to lower the price in the future, then even more people will be inclined to buy one I think.

Trezor has very low power consumption, I would be very surprised if that's the issue...

I bought a USB powered HUB + a new cable, now it works flawlessly.

Smiley
hmmmmm  Smiley Wink works it with the old cable but with the new active hub, too?

I can confirm this very odd behavior:

Win 8.1, Chrome, Trezor + original USB cable is not recognized
Win 8.1, Chrome, Trezor + Nexus 5 USB cable is recognized and working
...
The device becomes quite warm within a few seconds with the original cable, which is not the case with the other one.

I did some experiments and opened the USB cable. Turns out the connections are not correct.

The order of the wire colors seem to match and on the mini adapter side it's:

Red - White - Green - Black

This is how the connection between the adapters should be according to the web:

Standard => Mini
1 VBUS => 1 VBUS
2 D-   => 2 D-
3 D+   => 3 D+
4 GND => 5 GND

Pin 4 on the mini side is not connected.

But this is how it's actually is:

1 VBUS => 1 VBUS
2 D-   => 2 D-
3 D+   => 5 GND (!)
4 GND => 3 D+   (!)

There is no short circuit, simply flipped associations.

This device is extremely awesome! I hope you guys stay on top of things and implement some of the suggestions in this thread. A version 2 TREZOR or big Firmware update could make this thing perfect!

This spot for rent.

I can confirm this, it didn't work at all with the blue little cable.

Hi,

when will be the metallic version availible for order?

Never, they stop production on them due to how hard it was to make them.

They looked so much cooler in the stainless steel.  I would have been willing to pay extra for that one actually...

As a woman, I can totally understand that Smiley
But finally, when it comes to purchasing something that should be secure, I would even take a yellow with pink dots because it's not a fancy handbag to show of.

Great little device. Have a couple questions after testing one out.

It seems to freeze quite a bit when I plug it into my computer and go to mytrezor.com. It usually will work the first time I plug it in, but if I unplug it and try plugging it in, it usually will just freeze at the part where it says "loading".

I have that, too at times (less recently. in fact it may have stopped with some of the last firmware updates).

I was suspecting problems with my USB stack.

Well, there will soon be this little USB server (forget the name) instead of the js usb bridge plugin thingie... hopefully will be more robust.

Looking into getting one of these but they are quite expensive when I could just use a cold wallet....but its so damn cool and sexy.

Problems arise when you are about to spend your so-called cold wallet.

Yes.. it's quite the procedure.

Trezor really is a godsend!

Still anxiously awaiting mine...the postal service tracking says that mine is still a few cities away.   I thought it was going to arrive yesterday...

You do not have to read the whole thread.  Just go back and read the last three or four pages.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!
