The packaging is nice. But the casing seams a bit fragile. If you press on it, you can here little cracks , I think metal would be a lot better. I'm waiting if they will release again metal at good price and would consider buy a new one and keep plastic one as backup Strangely enough I like the plastic ones better than my metal one. Not sure why, probably because the plastic ones are new and the metal one I already got used to Another advantage of the plastic one is that in the event of a 5 dollar wrench attack it may be easier to convince an attacker that you dont have a huge number of bitcoins if you are using a plastic trezor

what is the main source of information on how to interface with the trezor?
edit: what I would like to do is create my own transactions and just use the trezor sign those transactions.

enough to help us at least partly make it happen surprisingly, people who have little to no experience with bitcoin have found a way to fund the project - through their friends for example. so this is not purely a nerdy device. One question... How do you open the box???

Stub of technical documentation is here: http://doc.satoshilabs.com/trezor-tech . This low-level doc it is still pretty empty, but Tim, our technical writer, improves manuals and documentation every day... There's Python implementation of client side, which will be integrated into Electrum and Armory and where you can get basic overview how interfacing works in real life: github.com/trezor/python-trezor . You may be interested in cmdtr.py utility and our unit tests, which demonstrates usage of particular protocol messages. There's also very basic integration of Trezor into Electrum, please see https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/pull/756

nope, this is a "concern" for USB host devices (i.e devices in which you plug USB thingies). nothing really new here anyway, USB is complicated, news at 11 (for more impressive reports look up facedancer, psgroove, ...)
