Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

what a load of good news!

first of all - a big Thank You goes out to the Devs!!

and to the good communication to all supporters

New 2.1.6.0 wallet

I've done a resync on the 64bit wallet on Linux, started like a charm and it took only 4 hours on a medium internet connection.

Seed nodes and network enhancements doing their job.

There is just a small graphical issue with the bars in the trading menu - which i will write up on to github
and finally we got an in-wallet   BLOCKCHAIN EXPLORER

PivX is  Cool

Before the re-brand and after the numerous 'borked' DNET wallet upgrades, this coin looked like it would probably go the way of Crave coin..., if anyone remembers that one.

Anyway, the developers have clearly done a great job with the re-brand etc., being reflected by the recent price move.

~ Having previously hosted over 10 Tor nodes with (addnode=.onion addresses) for this project;

I'm keen to try and get at least some of those nodes re-established and re-branded for PIVX. I feel that I have this obligation to fulfil for s3v3nh4cks (and the PIVX team / community), who have genuinely been some of the kindest and most generous developers I've liaised with on these forums.

TBH, hosting quality, high-bandwidth Tor nodes is sometimes a real pain, particularly Exit nodes, when your having to perform multiple upgrades and deal with / prevent potential 'abuse' issues. It's also quite costly and time consuming.

However, generally speaking, if you want stable Tor nodes for a project with proper maintenance and administration then I'm probably a good choice of candidate.

Recently I've had some personal issues and have been on hiatus, but I'm trying to re-build my portfolio and serve my legendary status, if you will.

In the realms of crypto currency and privacy related projects, PIVX is now likely to rival DASH / Zcash (ZEC) and others (I probably just shot myself in the foot their, metaphorically, price wise).

Anyhow, what I'm basically saying here is lets do this! If the community is willing / able to fund some Full Tor Exit Nodes also running PIVX addnode=.onion's then I can endeavour to do just that. Also finally producing the proper (re-branded) set-up guide for the PIVX wiki for users to follow.

This type of set-up is something that the Zcash community is currently helping me with:

~ I'm also actively looking into researching and preventing potential 'attacks' against users of crypto-currencies, whilst using anonymity networks like Tor.

It will be fairly straight forward to combine some services for PIVX - with a bit of additional funding. I don't wont to be in a position again, where I'm forced to switch off nodes because the running costs are outweighing personal benefit to myself!

Running PIVX Full Tor Exit nodes will certainly demonstrate to a privacy focused community that this project can go to the stratosphere, hopefully.

Anyone is welcome to PM me with suggestions if they would like to help in this regard.

Stuff like this is why PIVX to me is different.  You have people praising one another for being people and decent humans FIRST, and then talking about the tech aspects, etc.  Amazing community.

Yeah me too but kept a little bit of powder for the big shot. I think polo will push this coin to top10 perhaps beyond.

You guys need to take a leaf from dash in marketing. They have 5 threads open mostly on the main alt board.

This is the time to make it known this is dash with no instamine.

Be best to  pull the 15k sell walls down and move them back to 30k at least. No point putting all that pressure there.

Current Number of Masternodes: 1769 (unique IPs: 1769, IPv6: 1185, TOR: 453)

thats let me see: 2,964,950.14 $ locked in master nodes and that number has not gone down (it went up slightly actually)

once poloniex adds to the trade , brace selves for 2 x of what you see now

update: bringing binaries to the latest distro from git in the preparation (to the dev discretion and timing) of the upcoming libzerocoin integration (looks like it can even run on a small ARM processors , so that should make some happy micro devices running master nodes spread globally)

very best!

a and yes when you see red sell bars dont be alarmed one just happened 4K thats not even a master node required, above locked in the network at massive $ amounts and active dev is what is important

only 1 masternode per IP address allowed
That's correct, but you get almost unlimited IPV6 addresses with many hosters (eg vultr). That way, you can have about 3 masternodes on a 5$/month VPS. Not recommended, but it works.
