I wanted to avoid a timed restart, as it shuts the wallet down hard, no nice shutdown. However, it's been getting "bad transactions" that have been semi crashing it, and I've been out of town recently and not able to check it as frequently, so it's going to do a 6 hourly auto restart.

To be able to access the crowdfunding locally, you need to add this to the wallet\html\ui directory: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dawallet/burstwindowswallet/master/burst_1.2.3/html/ui/atcrowdfund.html

Both are totally good to mine with. Even USB2 will affect your mining only slightly (5 to 10%) with disks over 3 TB. Good luck!

Thanks for the answer. I mining now for two weeks with only 1.2TB USB2 connected to a laptop and mined about 5000 Burstcoins. Is the profit lineair with the size of the HD?

Hmmm ... no nice shutdown is not nice, I agree.

Perhaps you could store (or find) the PID, and send a "soft kill" to it, so that it can shutdown properly. As if I had pressed Ctrl-C in the NRS window.

Wait 1 minute, and then start it new.
And/Or 2 cron jobs, one to power it down, and one minute (or 5 minutes) later then a new fresh start.

Or ... have a script to poll it every hour, to see if it is still alive and well, and only if not, then do the above. Or have it send you an email...

Of course, best would be to identify the "bad transactions", and see how to drop them.

I have made minor changes to the wallet folder. The only changes is in the HTML/UI folder. The wallet has been download from burstcoin.biz and the HTML/UI folder has been stolen from daWallet's github. All credit goes to daWallet and burstcoin.

I decided to take Twitter a little more serious than before. With the brand new account https://twitter.com/Turn0ff_tweet/with_replies , I'll look at BURST as a newbie. In a number of tweets today I've written about BURST's sustainablility vs. bitcoin - although both use PoW mining - in a extremely simplistic way; other posts will be purely informative while other will be "news".

The overall objective is to explain why people should buy and mine BURST
