Will there be any updates on XVG on near future?

ofc.  updates happen rather often.

What are the devs working on at the moment?

as soon as my replacement motherboard gets here tmrw night, this week ill be releasing more i2p nodes, more tor nodes, and new electrum servers, as well as electrum on i2p and tor.

also some upcoming things are: relaunching the vergecurrency.com/radio page, into a standalone site, radio.vergecurrency.com, as well as a stand alone site, radiocrypto.com. also, once the electrum servers are back up, im going to make android wallets that connect to the new i2p and tor electrum servers, for mobile ip obfuscation. hmm what else.. oh and the verge radio will also be in the new windows wallets i release shortly, and they'll be compiled with the newest qt (5.9) that was just released 2 days ago, along with updated openssl and boost libraries.. hmm.. hmm let me think what else i have in the works... oh, ill be setting up relays for our irc chat users (still between 50-100 people in at all times) to a new skype chat, as well as expanding our slack chat and hopefully permanently getting the relay from slack up.. so any of our chats from skype, i2p irc, steam, freenode irc, and slack, will all be able to talk to each other no matter what platform they are on. eventually i'd like to incorporate that into the wallet as well.

no, definitely not. why would we go segwit, especially now? it's a much better idea to see how it plays out for sys, ltc, and btc over a bit. we can always consider it in the future, but with 1 minute blocks, we can already handle 10x the amount of transactions bitcoins chain before their fork to segwit.

To be fair, vergecurrency.com does look pretty bad. Very amateurish and not aesthetically pleasing at all

no worries. usually blocks are 1 minute apart, and most places confirmation is 5 or 6 confirms, so normally a transaction shouldnt take more than 5 or 6 minutes total, end to end.

Segwit on XVG would be a transparent move to pump the coin. If it ever got even close to the blocks needing the extra space it would be worth considering but I think for now it makes more sense to focus on what XVG needs and not what the current crypto trend is.

It's so cool I will join this coin today. it's quite cheap and I will buy it and hold it for 3 months later.

running some maintenance on the verge network stuff today...

tor web wallet is up and running smooth, hasnt gone down since i put it up.. i just updated some deps/libs on that node

I start watching crypto world around four months by now (Sigh.... missed all early flights).  Only a few cryptos embraced my sense.  This community must be proud of its Dev and the DEV requires great appreciation for his passion and dedication for maintaining this coin.

Verge is nothing inferior than the top 4 crypto currencies out there, but it lacks marketing.  I would like to suggest the XVG community not just alone look at DEV promoting this coin and you benefiting from it, but do something within your limit to promote XVG.  May be just sharing the news what DEV brings to you through public forums and crypto media is enough to get this coin appreciate x50 in just 2 months from now.

I'm not an XVG holder until today.  Felt like XVG community is not active enough, hence posted something here.  Take it or ignore it.
