Hello, anyone experiencing problems with the electrum wallet? It says "not connected" and I'm not able to do anything. Tried to change ports, checked firewall settings, etc. Any idea what to do?

I have a problem loading XVG mac wallet

after about 20 minutes loading it crushing and I cant fix it...

any idea?

is your TOR browswer connected?
   Start the TOR browswer first,  then start the electrum wallet.   (tho i just tested it, and the wallet connected within 10 seconds after the TOR finished connecting.

Well, I've cast my vote on HITBTC and Binance.  We're doing very well on HITBTC, but we still need everyone to go over to Binance to register to get the coin on there, we're lagging behind a bit.

Although I'm not in Verge just to make a fast buck, I did buy a few thousand coins for my mum around 20 sats, after $15 invested she's now over $100 lol.  She's checking her Blockfolio app every 5 minutes.  I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have put that on there for her now haha

I'm using the standard electrum wallet, not the TOR version.
I just saw in the slack that some people have the same problem too
Could be something wrong with the electrum server?

   I didnt realize there was a difference for the electrum wallets.  (thought they all worked thru TOR or the I2P setup)

I wish more people would see this. If people don't have any experience from trading stocks they don't really understand that fluctuations and volatility are a part of the game.
To me, crypto is like stocks... just more violent. And more interesting. 

I tried stocks.  didnt enjoy it.

then i tried Forex.  that was a nightmare.

This... i dont know whats diff. but its... fun. and im doing ok.

Once I download the Verge Debian Wallet and extract the contents, I get VERGEd and VERGE-qt.  What now?

Are they the compiled executables for the daemon and the gui wallet?  Do I just make them executable (chmod u+x)and run them?

yes those are compiled binaries. although if you're running debian you could just compile it yourself, its fairly quick and easy.

I'm having trouble.  I downloaded from GitHub and compiled my own binaries.  I started the wallet and after ten seconds it went gray (as if it was busy doing something). I assumed that was the "wait until I am synched with the network" behavior.  It has now been running for several days and is still gray.  I don't see that it's making any connections.  This machine has several wallets on it, and they all are connecting and syncing just fine.

What do I need to do to get my Verge wallet working?  Or at least what do I need to report here to get some help troubleshooting?
