speaking of, we are going to be taking down our clearnet web wallet, because we prefer users own their coins, instead of leaving them on the site.
we will leave the tor and i2p web wallets up however.
we'll wait until the end of july to take the clearnet site down.
clearnet web wallet is officially offline now, and we will no longer be handling support for it. i2p/tor web wallets will remain online and fully supported, with no plans of taking them offline, ever. we will also be removing support for the clearnet electrum client soon, after we finish the osx binaries for tor and i2p electrum clients. if you currently have your coins in the clearnet electrum client, have no fear, you can just import them into the tor and i2p clients using your seedphrase. *same goes for current android wallet. you can use your seedphrase in the upcoming android wallet and your coins will be there.

So we can not get our coins back?
yes thats my question, too. that server no longer exists, sorry. we made several posts about it. i did inquire with the host last night if it could be restored, but the answer was no, its not possible. we do have the hosting for the i2p/tor web wallets, but as we've said before, web wallets are not really recommended, they're just for temporary/quick usage. users should own their coins (by having the private key or seedphrase)

This is a really interesting project and I'm extremely excited to watch it evolve over the next few months/years.
then you'll be very excited about the new tor-only android wallet. soon, we're going to open up a beta tester sign up. we had 10 beta testers on this new wallet and it was great, but ideally we'd like to have 50 testers because not all beta's will necessarily be android applications.

This is probably a stupid question but I'm still a newbie to all things crypto I'm using the android wallet and would like to start using multi-signature with Electrum desktop wallet. When I start the Electrum wallet I get the options, "create new wallet" or "restore a wallet or import keys" and wallet type options "standard wallet" or "multi-signature wallet". Can I just import my android wallet keys and choose the multi-signature wallet or how does this work? Anyone? yeah you can import the seedphrase to your electrum wallet, sure. we also have a tool on our site, to convert your android seedphrase into an actual private key here: https://vergecurrency.com/seedphrase/ps: sorry, must have gotten buried and didn't see your post. Thank you sir

Oh wow, I only chanced on this forum because I was searching...... There was no news anywhere or any indication that the wallet was going to be offine AND I BOUGHT THE COINS IN JULY!!!
If you were planning to stop supporting and taking wallet offline, you should not have allow people to use the web wallet or put a big notice on the wallet website!!!
It is also not end of july yet.

Just to confirm - I hold some Verge on an Electrum wallet. Is this wallet going to be operational long term? Just reading some of the above comments an I wouldn't want to check the balance in months from now and find it has been taken down/removed.
Not really up to speed with all the Tor wallets etc. I like Electrum nice and simple.
any advice would be appreciated.
++++++++++++++Destroy Zcash,Dash and Pivx and make VERGE the coin of choice for the anonymous. ++++++++++++++++

At least your post isn't being removed. And I agree, given how this is money, it could have been handled better. Maybe an option that exist for a few weeks or months after removal that allows users to still access their coins. It's just hard to understand why something this important wouldn't have a longer warning or backup.

This is not for real, is it? Is there not any chance to get in contact with the hoster of original web wallet? Name? Mail? Getting the login back to live for 24h would be enough.
