The layout of the circuit of Kazakistan has been revealed.

It will be a MOTOGP track this year.

As you can see, it will be a Ducati track for strong engine.

That's a lot of straights and sharp turns. A powerful engine will surely be advantageous on such a track setup. Ducati can outrun any other competition in this newly-built track. It favors the design of their bike and aggressive and very powerful engine with the number of straights in this track. I'm hoping for a dominant Ducati year this 2023 with Jack Miller and Francesco Bagnaia at the helm of the said racing team. Their extremely well performance in 2022 can be topped off with this kind of track that they're set to ride on this 2023. Hopefully they don't underdeliver as they're one of the current favorites in the sport.

Williams was doing terrible for economical reasons, they do not have the budget of the other teams, and there is a good reason for that. First of all, if you want to build a racing team just for racing sake, and not a team that is partnered with a business, then it's going to be hard to accept a loss, sure you could do it but your pockets will be limited. Look at Ferrari and Mercedes and red bull etc etc, these are all companies that have a racing team.

Williams is just a racing team and that's it nothing more. Which is why it's understandable for them to not have the same budgets, but this TP change will maybe bring them some success if they could realize their situation, reactionary racing is important, trying to take points in races where everyone else did bad or DNF'd should be the point, and you could design your car to be a lot more reliable to focus on racing all races and finish all of them.

If all the GP will do the same it will be an huge change for the logistics of the F1 especially when we have 2 races in 7 days.
To be fair, even though more races means more difficulties regarding logistics and longer weekends would mean even harder logistics, lets be honest here and realize that the more days they have it, the more money they would make. The reality is that F1 is not a profitable business for most teams, there are a few maybe who would, but in reality it is not and I highly doubt Mercedes started to get a lot more cars sold just because of f1 titles nor red bull sold more drinks because of their recent titles.

This means that if you do it 4 days weekend, and spread the races to more times and let the "off period" down a bit, so like 45 weeks a year there are races, then they could make a lot more money. I am all for anything that is profitable for them.

Red Bull have also joined the teams revealing the launch date of their 2023 car.

They are going to reveal it on February 3. They are expected to introduce another car which is the most competitive one on the grid. However this might be a little debatable for next season depending on what Ferrari and Mercedes will do at the same time. Verstappen expects Mercedes to be in the fight with them this time. Mercedes side looks very positive for this season also. Ferrari also need to work hard on their car to hinder big problems related to durability again. Otherwise they might finish behind both of those teams.

That could have a big impact on the drivers and also on the strategy. So at some point you have to use a different strategy to be able to use your tires more economically. You could then drive much less fast during training, for example. But you also have a circuit that is longer than the other one and that you therefore need several pit stops. With few tires, that becomes difficult. So you can no longer drive if your tires are really worn out. I also don't know how it is that F1 wants to make this decision? They can expect considerable opposition if this measure is actually introduced.

I think a good regulation would be the good old times when they were using different type of tires,I think most of us here who are old F1 fans remember the days of the fight between Michelline and Bridgestone,where in cold weather Michelline behaved better and come earlier to temperature while in hot weather was Bridgestone doing so,the rule back then was that the teams should choose the tire at the beginning of the season and stick to it for the whole season no matter how bad this tire would impact the races of the team.

I think a good regulation would be the good old times when they were using different type of tires,I think most of us here who are old F1 fans remember the days of the fight between Michelline and Bridgestone,where in cold weather Michelline behaved better and come earlier to temperature while in hot weather was Bridgestone doing so,the rule back then was that the teams should choose the tire at the beginning of the season and stick to it for the whole season no matter how bad this tire would impact the races of the team.

I think I have had enough of tire monopoly from Pirelli or any other brand,they should let the teams choose from 2-3 providers and let the competition rise,it looks like FIA does not give a damn about competition anymore.

I think they have already said in the past that there will never be a duopoly for the tires again as the competition too pushed for the tires is a safety problem.
It has already happened once in the past in the United States Grand Prix in Indianapolis that we had only 6 cars at the start because the remaining 14-16 were not safe for risk breakdowns.

@coinlocket$ I’ll second that as I too had no idea who he was until this announcement came, and then I decided to google about him and it turns out that he was with team Mercedes and he was a key part of their success journey.

Furthermore Hamilton also wrote a positive review about him which makes me feel that he’ll do well in his new role, and if he can make Williams more competitive then I would say job well done for him but I don’t expect any miracles from him in the short term but hoping that he deliveres in the long run.

Today the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGp factory team has made a presentation for the launch of a new Livery in Jakarta, which is accompanied by the latest automatic motorbike products from Yamaha as well. But if you look at the overall Livery for this year's Yamaha motorbikes it seems that there is only a slight difference, but I hope that the Yamaha factory can bring and provide a machine that is strong enough for its riders this season because considering that Yamaha's competitors last year were very strong and possibly too going very strong for the season. Williams can change their engine in 2026.

Considering Williams is basically a Mercedes junior team, and how they got Russell from them, it's easy to predict that it goes both ways. They sent Russell last year, and this year they got their TP from them.

I think Bono should have been considered. I mean he is still racing with Hamilton of course, but when Hamilton retires, Bono has seen enough greatness to manage a whole team himself, and he is not that old neither, which means that in 4-5 years he would be at the prime of his life to lead a team. I am not saying that should be Williams but if this new guy doesn't seem great for a few more years, then Bono could definitely takeover and make that team better.

23 races, starting in 2 month ish.
It'sa bit sad that they didn't replaced China with track like Portimao or Istanbul, but anyway, 23 races is enough. But there is some things which I don't understand in calendar. They will go from Baku to Miami and then back to Imola. And then in June, from Barcelona to Canada and then back to Austria. Wouldn't it make sense to held races in Miami and Canada in a row, especially in terms of logistics. Such things looks strange when F1 is trying to save money and become more eco friendly.
Also, we will have two 1 month breaks - not in August as usual, but in April too. And at the same time we 3 triple header race weekends.

Yamaha officially launched the livery for the 2023 season. I think not much change has happened, the dominance of blue, green, black is still their mainstay. The launch took place in Jakarta on Tuesday, January 17. The hope is that they will be able to compete with Ducati, even though they still use the M1 engine. Because I think the Ducati is still the fastest bike at the moment in MotoGp.

There are new rumours about Hamilton to sign a new contract with his team. He might extend his contract by two years if they reach an agreement on terms. It is expected to be an enormous contract for him. The details are like this if this is really true:

- A 2-year contract and €70m earnings per year
- Mercedes to sign a 10-year brand ambassadorship deal with Hamilton worth €250m
- The total earnings is expected to be around €400m with bonuses

I assume Hamilton would be delighted with such deal. He still wants his eight championship as well.

Next season there will be 1 less race because the Chinese Grand Prix has been cancelled. It's not clear to me what the exact cause is. It could have to do with China's current position in the war against Russia. It won't make much difference to the course of the competition. I personally think the points that can be achieved in the sprint races are nonsense. They never did that in F1 and last season it suddenly had to be introduced with all force. The drivers are not happy about it either. Your tires will also break down sooner if you put everything on it. I would like it if Hamilton gets a good car at Mercedes.
