Ferrari will also have to open up a certain cast of tricks to ensure that they will compete for the championship. If it goes like last season, it will be an impossible task for them to become champions. Granted; they also had some bad luck in the past season, but Red Bull had that especially in the beginning. Mclaren recently showed their semi-black car as well, a team famous for having so much colour, I understand Mercedes may have a lot of black but that is nearly team colours, aside from silver, but McLaren and Williams, orange and blue, becoming more black? That's basically proof that teams found something to use that weight for. This is also you don't see fat drivers, they are as skinny as they can be with strength to take on that G, they can't be 40kg, because then they would be too weak, but you won't see many 100kg drivers neither, just terrible for the weight and the pace.

To be honest, this year I have the feeling that Ferrari has the strongest car, and if they stop making mistakes, they could have the strongest car the whole season. Last season, Ferrari definitely had the strongest car in the first half of the season and lost a lot of important points due to their own mistakes (strategy, pit stops, etc.).

My guess is that Ferrari will be the strongest car, followed closely by RedBull and Mercedes.

I also feel like Ferrari will have the fastest car in this new season. Because they are saying that there is a big improvement in the engine by 30 horsepower.

This is a really big improvement indeed. Because they didn't see any other way than cutting the power by some rate last season to get ahead of serious issues. But now they are claiming that there is no need anymore. I really can't trust them completely yet as we are talking about Ferrari.    We need to see them racing without the same problems for some weeks to be convinced about them. Then I can say my favourite for the championship will be Ferrari this time.

these ferrari guys are amazing, the car improvement will be 1 second faster than the previous car, well so far it seems everything is fine in theory, Frederic Vasseur who became the new team boss was present at the presentation of the new car, which is a good thing because at least they will be able to improve something in the race, but the problem is that the drivers will be the same, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will continue, I am not a great specialist in car racing, until why am i entering this market now

but if a team of drivers makes a few mistakes that contribute to a drop in performance in a season, wouldn't it be more viable for ferrari to change everything? anyway the pilots seem to be very confident that they will perform well

In 2022 Ferrari invested heavily in their cars after a long time of weak investments, but their strategic mistakes and car problems ended up causing us to quickly lose hope in Ferrari.

For this year, I believe they have learned from their mistakes and should have a much more coherent 2023 season, with these "adjusted" details.

However... Mercades will still be a "stone in the shoe" of Ferrari, I believe that it will be the main impediment for Ferrari to be able to reach the top positions.
Let's see how the teams and drivers will cope in the first few races so we can draw more conclusions about this.

It won't just be the engine, I think Ferrari's chassis will be improved compared to last year, it's just a feeling that Ferrari will start the season the strongest. Mercedes and Red Bull will also have improved their engine/powertrain. The question is, like last year, will Ferrari have an advantage and can they eliminate their own mistakes?

Red Bull is still the team to beat, not only they have a great car, but everything is in place for them, a great driver, a great defensive helper, a great team principle, great car designer (newey, the best ever) and great engineers, so they are still the team to beat.

Ferrari made some changes with management, got a new TP, and build even a better car, and have some good drivers, but they made many mistakes and before we can say they are good, we need to see if they will make the same mistakes or not, if they don't then they have a chance to win, if they do then they will lose once again due to mistakes, and that is something we can't see before we see some races.

I think we can watch a similar start to the one in the previous season. Ferrari would put on a good show with a fast car for a couple of races first. But the most important points is to be consistent of course.

I'm very hopeful that they won't be having durability problems again. On the other hand Mercedes also started to seem frightening to me. Even if Ferrari start strongly and fight at the same level with Red Bull, Mercedes also seem likely to join this competition. Mercedes also have introduced their car and it looks like they are back to black again.    W14 might be another loved car for Mercedes if they have solved the biggest issues and gained some more power.

If they wanted to save some paint they prolly should've gone bare and let the metal shine thru...  Just like the silver arrows Merc days or the McClarens back in the day.  It makes the cars look like they have their own personality that's different from all the other cars in a way.

And engine issues are just really engine issues.  When a team starts blaming the paint, you know something's def wrong as the paint should really the the cause of we a car is slow.

Anyway, we see the cars in action guys...  Preseason testing at Bahrain is in 5 days.

There are teams who are already going for the 2026 car, which will be a lot more different than what they have right now. I know that it is not looking good for them but when you know you are not good enough, it is normal to look for the future. Mclaren is one of them, they already said that they will be better with the first updates, which is a way of saying they will suck at early season and have bad car, and they said they are already building for the future.

Aston Martin is the same, they are looking for the future and experiment a bit. These are all going to matter when 2026 comes, if a team truly spends a ton of money on that car instead of these years, they may get to be amazing.

We are going in the week of the test for F1.
It will be the only week this year from Thursday to Saturday of the next week in Bahrain.

The weather will be sunny as usual.

The last year we got huge problems with sand and wind if you can remember.

I mean everyone looks at this situation like Ferrari got better or Mercedes got better and all of that, but they are merely trying to reach Red Bull levels meanwhile Red Bull is still improving. So, those other teams needs to get better to reach RB first, but then also get better than them after that, which is a big difference.

I still think that Max is the one to beat and all the other teams are not there to win it this year, not yet anyway. Sure they may get better in the future, I am not saying RB will win it every year, but so far the difference is just too big for one summer to cover it and then some.

And this was on rain, which means that they weren't even running at full speed and yet they still had the same issue, and if they run at full speed like a real race, it would be even worse. Either something was wrong for the test and they used like last years chassis or whatever I don't know the reason, or they will have the same issue again this year at first. I hope that they will figure that out, it would be a damn shame.

That would really be catastrophic for Mercedes if they make it that bad of a start as they did it last  year.I am expecting their engineers to have listened to their drivers when they told them that they need to make the car a bit higher from ground than they originally did it and if they have not yet corrected it things will most likely go pretty badly for them.I think we have the official tests during the upcoming end of the week,starting from Tuesday to Thursday on 23-25 February in Barcelona and that is a wonderful track,one of my favorites to test the F1 cars,this testing will tell us a lot and we will pretty much be getting a true taste of the power of each car.

Too much play in the suspension, perhaps? This is the part where most manufacturers shifted their focus on, that and weight reduction with little tweaks to the engine. I'm yet to find this video but if the bounce is too much even at 75% power, there's no way they can go up against faster cars like Ferrari on straights. I think Mercedes can easily figure this out and put out a relatively safe solution without sacrificing much of the performance of their car. Saw some of their tests and they're posting quite good times already.

The preparation for Mercedes is in any case a lot better than last year. Because then it soon turned out that it wouldn't work out at all in the battle for the championship. The year before they had pulled a nice trick with a distance setting that made them champions. Who should give Max a fight? Hamilton can only do that if he drives a top car. Mercedes was the big losses last year, especially because Hamilton had become world champion many times. It is a pity that Nick de Vries did not get a seat at Mercedes, but the competition there is also huge, of course. Max will be happy with Perez as 2nd driver.
