Thanks for the input Smiley but i am getting nowhere on ubuntu.

1.  I copied the "export" commands exactly as I found them in Claymore 9.8 from the sample scripts. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
2.  I still can't get the fanmin command to work. It needs root access - how do I do that in Ubuntu?
Cheers!

for root access, use sudo.
think about editing sodoers or better create a file in sudoers.d
https://superuser.com/questions/869144/why-does-the-system-have-etc-sudoers-d-how-should-i-edit-it

I made it work since long with following :
Ubuntu 16.04.3 latest update/dist-upgrade
ROCm kernel (and rocm-smi)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg21305411#msg21305411
https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherMining/comments/6wsf7o/new_amd_blockchain_optimized_drivers_availible/
Amdgpu-pro latest version
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDGPU-PRO-Driver-for-Linux-Release-Notes.aspx

for the properties, since long I have one difference that nobody have acknowledged (strange, does not work with 64BIT PTR 0)
export GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR=1
export GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE=100
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
export GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
(set variable for for bash script, it is probably different for some other shell)

mclock and vddc/vddci have no effect on my miner (need VBIOS edit by PolarisBioseditor or SRBPolaris) , but fanmin tt ttli works perfectly.
it is a know problem because the AMD drivers on linux are limited  and no more compatible with ADL lib.
maybe ROCm is better, but i did not test since I migrated to ROCm kernel.

note that even if you really change mclock, if you dont edit the bios to change the 2000MHz memory strips to lower frequency (1750MHz, 1625MHz, or even 1500 if you are lucky... or use Ubermix strips like what latest jaschaknack PolarisBiosEditor https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor )...

If you don't know linux well, It may not be the best to use Linux for mining, ans Windows is very well supported (better than Linux).

Cards are Asus Dual OC Rx 580 8GB 1260/2050/-125 to -150mV

Anyone?

Hi again! With new amd bc drivers (23 aug) and Clay 10.0 I flashed UberMix 3.1 straps to these cards (Asus Dual OC). They are working fine but 1162/1960/900mV - 28 mh per card.

Sudden OpenCL errors happens.

I think, we have to calm down and wait for new Clay release

Hey!

I'm using aug11 blockchain drivers which are essentially the same with aug23 except it doesn't have support for Vegas (don't care). I'm using a custom strap from dorey mills and I get 29.3 max per card. Weird as I can get this going for a long time, it's just after restart it gives me hiccups like these and I want to eliminate that from my routine.

I use Claymore v9.8.

I build and sell rigs! I also sell ssd clones of the most stable Windows+Claymore+AMD driver combo you'd ever used.

I can't seem to connect to the supernova's decred wallet.  None of my miners can send anything to it this morning.  Anyone else having this issue?  I can't even log on to the wallet to see what could be wrong.

I had the same issue with one of my miners.  I gave up on it an switched to coinmine.pl library.  Done with Suprnova for now.  I dont know whats up.

I am done with Suprnova since a month ago...

10% lower earnings than expected. Coinmine is just as it should be

Same issue here, Claymore is still mining DCR without any problem, but I hope dcr.suprnova.cc pays me the last dcr amount mined...

Looks like it is up and running again, however I appreciate the thoughts.  Gonna look for a different wallet based on the suggestions.

Anyone know what version of Claymore supports AMD Tonga GPU?  I have a bunch of W7100 but they are not recognized in Claymore 10.  Just get a message "no supported cuda or open GL GPU detected".

when i mine ETH with 5X RX470 i am getting 130 mh/s

but when i mine ETC with same 5X RX470 i am getting only 115 mh/s

why 15 mh/s  diffrence?

what drivers are u using, if you are using something other then block chain drivers then that is the answer as ETC is on a higher DAG then ETH

i am using 16.12.12 driver

can u suggest me which is good driver for my RX 470 4gb?

The new blockchain workloads driver (23aug) is which you should use for all AMD cards, solve the DAG file size issue. But only works on W10, download Afterburner 4.4.0 beta 16 too for OC and undervolt.

..or you can use the miner to set gpu and memory clock and voltage instead of using AB or any other software. read first post or readme.txt for more informations about these parameters.

If AB works I prefer it, so easy. The last time I try to set clocks and voltages in Claymore anything works fine...

Does the windows 7 version of the blockchain drivers work with vega?  I'm having so many problems with windows 10 I'm thinking of going back to windows 7 or taking the dive into Linux...

Okay I have found a way. Because we can't undervolt via Claymore, I change voltage value in bios, then flash, in order to bypassing Claymore undervolting ^^

I am having many issues myself with Windows 10 installing drivers for 10 of the RX Vega 64 GPU's. See's it as a Microsoft Basic display adapter but when I begin to install the driver manually or with the latest blockchain drivers via the GUI I end up getting a black screen. If you find a fix please let me know be it Windows 7 or Linux!

Did it work on you? What miner version are you using and what AMD driver?

I've had my overclock/underclock/undervolt settings in BIOS for the past 3 weeks and I'm using aug11 blockchain drivers plus Claymore v9.8 on Win10 Pro and i've never seen it read my voltage offsets.

I then had to fire up Trixx after Claymore is running steady to do my undervolts - worked for me.

Please do share your settings.

I build and sell rigs! I also sell ssd clones of the most stable Windows+Claymore+AMD driver combo you'd ever used.

How long do you let it sit on the black screen?  I've had mine take up to 5 minutes before the screen comes back.

Even with my 580s i keep on encountering this black screen of death whenever I'm upgrading my AMD drivers. The workaround I found (accidentally) is just choose Custom Install and untick the HDMI audio drivers (i disabled audio anyways) and it seems to do the trick. No more black screens for me.
