ION has incompetent devs. There was already a rebase. Now there is going to be a rollback. Rollbacks should NEVER happen. This destroys the integrity of coins, not that ION has much as it is.
If there is a similar issue in the future, are they just going to implement another rollback? What about the people that cashed out into BTC during that time? With the rollback, they'll get to keep their BTC and potentially get back the IONs they sold.
The devs are screwing up bigly, and the majority of the ionite shills in Slack were telling people to shutup and enjoy the free coins when the issue occurred rather than trying to figure out what was causing it. If you didn't see that as a legit problem then you're the actual problem. It's repulsive.
Rollbacks are fine if it's to stop a thief and to protect an investment. Rollbacks should never happen is exactly the kind of thing a thief would say. When we see the detail I bet you will see the integrity of the coin strengthened not weakened, but lets wait and see as the devs are in test mode now so not long to go. LOL!!! This is EXACTLY what a shill would say. Ever had an original thought ?

I believe he posed a few talking points for you.

Tor/boki says the ion core staff didn't have a clue what was going on. Wonder what our two favorite shills have to say about that? So, is Tor now considered a troll in the Ionomy Slack? Cause he talked bad about the team and anyone who does that is automatically labeled a troll.

Torbokipanda's rants are incomprehensible on a good day and downright schizo the rest of the time. The "team" is probably scared shitless that he'll flip and start shipping dead rabbits, therefore they allow him to roam uninhibited. Can't think of any other reason why he wouldn't be banned about 200 times by now. On the bright side though - he perfectly reflects the level of ionomy's incompetence and immaturity. Can't think of a better person to scare any noobs away from ionomy slack and ionomy in general.

The only somewhat fair point in time for the rollback would that of the initial announcement (last Saturday I think). Before that there was no official of acknowledgment the problem, let alone anything about a fork or a rollback. But due to the fact that the "team" took nearly two weeks to produce even that vague announcement, the attacker had made a huge amount of coins by then. tl;dr: it's fucked up real good and they won't miss the chance to fuck it up even more with this rollback.

Looking forward to reading slack in the days following the rollback. There's definitely gonna be a few people that lose some BTC and ION because of this "good thing" according to the loyal slackers. Yes, they think this rollback should instill confidence in investors and make the coin stronger. I shit you not.

yep funny how if eth forks its hilarious and ion is better forks and hacks bad. if ion forks its only good. it shows just how deluded they are. reminds me of when garza had them and they saw the good in it all. after garza scammed them they made excuses about how it looked legit and how there werent red flags etc. its a clusterfuck this coin. whats worse is the unregistered security part. there is word of it earlier in this topic. when sec back dates and goes after ico's supplied to us citizens they'll freak. i expect a rename from ico to icd (initial coin distribution) like they think that'll save them as well as crying we are incorporated overseas. there is a reason coinbase etc doesnt offer to places and stellar isnt available to us citizens. the ion team arent as smart as these shills will have you believe especially wildshark...

I'm looking forward to the next wave of failures and excuses. Anyone surprised that it's been 24+ hours, i.e. more than a day since it was said "hours [...] not days"? Me neither.

Go ask on ionomy slack, I think you have a chance to get a PR job there, what with your spamming skills and all.

first time I see this coin, is it a dead project or what is up with all the dev flaming and negativity ? people got scammed or what exactly happened here in a nutshell ? also, a rollback is in order right now or it's just some "plan/promise" ?

It was the next logical step by a group of individuals that got scammed by the Paycoin/GAW disaster. I question whether they were actually a part of it. It has never had any relevance and has always had technical problems. It was supposed to be a gaming coin, but the games were never developed. Right now it had a problem with the staking and a hacker made certain wallets stake an incredible amount. Personally I think it is just 10-20 people that want to rake in as much bitcoin as they can until it dies.

We had a record breaking day... 40k blocks, 2.2s average time, 2/3 of a million new coins. Isn't this a paycoiner's dream - super fast transactions, lots of coining. The team's Freudian slip. Edited 2020-11-29 to fix a broken image

Wonder who is gonna keep the messed up "ION classic" chain going? Seems fitting for this operation, it'll be like Paycoin's PayCon. IonCon.
