There's no way to find to indicate the actual number of people using the Bitcoin. Rapidly changed using the internet and anyone can easily access.

Yeah its not important to indicate actual numbers because there's survey for that users. For me its infinite because numbers of user are getting higher all the time. Popularity of bitcoin open a lot oppurtunity to people worldwide thats why numbers if user are gettting bigger.
There's no such thing like "Infinite numbers of user" because human's population is not infinite and will never reach infinite. It's right that you can't get the exact numbers of bitcoin users but there may some method to make a prediction of the actual number of bitcoin users which is near to the real numbers and maybe it will eventually discovered

Indeed, human population is finite, if I can say so

On the other hand, though, we can't really know how many Bitcoin addresses one user might have, but since the number of users is determined by the number of addresses on the blockchain and this number itself can be considered as conventionally infinite at that (otherwise, someone would have already brute-forced Bitcoin), we should necessarily assume that the number of users is not limited by the population size, simply because there is no mechanism to find out how many addresses belong to how many real users

I read a university study from some grad student that parsed the blockchain. He assumes that single individuals wouldn't send multiple transactions from multiple wallets to be included in the same block. He went on explaining different proofs and the paper seemed pretty reasonable. He claimed about 250 thousand regular users.

I think no one can determine the actual number of people who use bitcoin. Becouse it so anonimously and one person could be have more than one wallet.

Some of the wallets (especially those in crypto-exchanges and investment sites) require a government issued ID. So one person will not be able to create more than one wallet. But that said, sites such as Blockchain.info and BTC-e require no ID information.

They are not easily know and count who are using bitcoin.. because it is really anonymous like you said there is no government required while you are making an account..  even we are counting the bitcoin address or the number created i some wallet web and desktop we can not still count them.. because some peopel are using alternative wallet and address.

This pretty well matches another metric, namely, a number of transactions processed daily, i.e. ~250K transactions daily on average for the last couple of months. Though his approach is debatable. For example, if an exchange or a web wallet sends a few bitcoins from multiple wallets in just one transaction to a hundred individuals (individual addresses), should we count each address in this transaction as an individual sending money to his address (wallet)? I think that we should...

What was his point on such cases?

I just tried to find it again and couldn't and I don't remember if he looked at that scenario. I don't think he's very far off from the truth. A quarter million regular users seems about right. Miners getting routine payments from pools and exchanges moving coin around for day traders is probably the lions share of that activity. It's all just an educated guess though.

you are right that there is no one know the actual number of bitcoin users because its really that any person have multiple wallet for keeping their bitcoins so its impossible to count the actual number of bitcoin users .

Yes that's right. It's the same impossible to calculate the number of bitcoin users by number of accounts, for example here on bitcointalk, cause of one person may have several ones. I can't even imagine how many users there is now, but I'm sure the number is just growing.

Personally, I tend to estimate the number of active users around half a million

Though this largely depends on what metric we should use to distinguish active users from dormant ones (e.g. long-term Bitcoin holders). I think that if a user is transacting on a daily basis, he should be thought of as being very active. If someone receives his payment for participating in a signature campaign here once a week, he is also an active user. On the other hand, there are a lot of people who are wildly trading Bitcoin on various exchanges, though they might not make a single transaction for months which would end on the blockchain. I guess they should without doubt be considered as active Bitcoin users too

Yeah, that's in the zone. Quarter million, half million, somewhere in there is probably right.

It seems like a lot of users until you start comparing it with other new online methods of payment and adoption of new technologies.

Even if you know a certain details does not mean that you are going to know how many people are really using bitcoin and all of the exchanges would not provide any details to know the details of their customers unless and until you file a police report.

I think the range of age that you said can become larger becouse the millions people who use bitcoin have different age. I agree with some of people here that the actual number of people using bitcoin is can not determined. Anyway the number is always increase becouse bitcoin is become mainstream becouse so many news about bitcoin, also so many banks, countries, and merchants which integrate bitcoin..

You are asking like how many strands of hair do you have in your head,
it is possible to know but it takes time and a lot of effort because while you
are counting your hair there is another strand that will grow and die/lose at the same time.

Just like the people that is using Bitcoin as of now, Your post for me is valid and doable.

Because there are some who just register and use bitcoin in a little moment not knowing that they can earn from this more than others.

We cannot count the actual number of users of bitcoin because it is still growing, there are still people exploring bitcoin in their lives especially now that it is getting known world wide.

very difficult to guess the actual bitcoin users, since users always increases and decreases in each year. Well, bitcoin really give interest to users and to prospective consumer so many people are curious about bitcoin. well, so I guess more than hundreds of thousands of new people using bitcoin in every year
you are right that its very difficult to guess the actual number of bitcoin users so no one know the actual number of bitcoin users because there is a lot of people buying bitcoin daily a huge number of people using bitcoin.

No one could really able to predict the actual number of bitcoin users as of the moment because we cant know it even we tend to count all of the bitcoin wallet addresses throughout all wallets and exchanges and people could anytime create multiple wallets thats why its hard to put exact number but one thing we could be assure of on which bitcoin users is gradually increasing.

I think no one can determine the actual number of people who use bitcoin. Becouse it so anonimously and one person could be have more than one wallet.

Some of the wallets (especially those in crypto-exchanges and investment sites) require a government issued ID. So one person will not be able to create more than one wallet. But that said, sites such as Blockchain.info and BTC-e require no ID information.
but not all users use that bitcoin exchange or purse, of course logic of users will avoid the exchange sites or wallet that requires verification, so it still bitcoin user number can not be calculated

that is right. I know many people do not use the exchanges.

Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

The number would be far less than any bitcoiner would expect. Try to imagine how many drug addicts use BTC and how many drug dealers. I would think that theres not much.

Like what an expert hacker said, we are only accessing 10% of the internet because the rests is in the deep web, so that means illegal transaction are rampant in the dark web and that helps bitcoin to increase its demand.
