Happy New Year everyone! When is the second round of distribution  Huh
In the second round, which is expected in mid-February, we'll distribute 62.5 MB for each 1 BTC of linked balance and 0.1 new byte for each 1 byte received in the first round.

The price is going up every day. Is there any application build on top of ByteBall currently?

People complaining could give suggestions, because the only method fairer than this is POW, the problem is there are no blocks here... and this is probably a good thing, because @tonych is not trying to replicate Bitcoin.

he was given many suggestion long before main net. He chose to ignore them. As yet the motivation is unclear.

To be 100% honest though it was not as bad as it could have been. Lisk, wave and komodo seem to be the largest whales.

I was told the second largest wallet (6.9K) is ICONOMY project wallet. Didn't check that information though...

It is you can check Iconomi's BTC address here:

The price is going up after the whales' dump, looks like it will go up until the second distribution.

This coin merit a higher price as it has many original features created.

Quote
Participation in Byteball distribution

If you missed the 1st round of distribution, you can still participate in the further rounds.  If you were in the 1st round, you can multiply your holdings.  In the second round, which is expected in mid-February, you receive:
- 62.5 MB for every 1 BTC of proven balance
- 0.1 new bytes for every 1 byte
(received in the 1st round)

There was 100 000 GB distributed in the first round.
This means that there will be 10 000 GB distributed to byteball holders in the second round (0.1 new bytes for every 1 byte received in the 1st round).

Let us assume that in the second round there will be 100 000 BTC linked.
This would mean there will be 6250 GB distributed according to BTC balances.

So most likely the dev will distribute much less bytes in the second round (than in the first round).

People tend to be suspicious about cryptos where the majority of coins is held by the dev for a long time.

This is not like Bitcoin where you know everything about the distribution from the beginning. Here we have the dev who reserves the right for himself to distribute most coins arbitrarily in the future. A free airdrop distribution is risky but possible. But here there is one person who controls 90 percent of the total amount of coins and this one person can ARBITRARILY decide about their future distribution. For months, maybe year(s) to come.

This must make byteball feel like a joke for any serious investor.

Well, I can consider all other critics to be a FUD, and the concerns about the ICOs included in distribution can be also somehow discarded (I believe that will not do that much harm at the end of the day), but this concern quoted above sounds really important to me!! And it is a somewhat worrying.

tonych and/or CryptKeeper, could you please address this comment? Its not a simple FUD or grunt of people who are unhappy by distribution. I believe its valid concern.

If the majority of coins remains at your disposal for so long time, how do you think it will affect the adoption by exchanges or other businesses? You may be the most honest person in the world, and will keep all your promises (and I personally believe you will), but how you can prove that to others, so they believe you will not just dump your undistributed coins?

these are valid concerns, it's like a POS coin done manually that can change at any given moment

happy new year! Smiley

3 coins is very interesting.  byteball/elastic XEL/ Qtum/

will hold my 700BTC shares byteball for one year.

700 BTC shares byteball?  We got a whale in the house!  Cheesy

But yes, it's good to hold byteball for now... I'm curious what will happen with black byteballs.

Coinmarketcap gives 1,499 BTC as the market cap for all the byteballs distributed. I doubt anyone was given 700 BTC worth, that's almost half of all byteballs distributed. It would require linking approximately 30000 BTC to get that number of byteballs from the distribution.
Explorer shows that your bb address contains 1012588898911 bytes:

https://explorer.byteball.org/#N5M2V4ZV3GWBRIGPHKOIVFI54UHDDDGC

not half marketcap..

about 1012588898911 Smiley

byteball will be popular!

i will hold and buy BTC/Byteball/Qtum/elastic XEL  in 2017.

Yes, thats right, found it... Second largest - 3KbWWjumBGLBUWYCeidydxe1uET9QyWoEg - Iconomy fund. So we have Lisk, Iconomy, Waves and possibly Komodo community wallets participating. Not sure about Komodo.  Interesting enough, only Waves Byteballs were moved and maybe partly dumped. The rest - Lisk and Iconomy wallets are intact, so they are waiting (probably to dump on bigger market Smiley Maybe not, who knows... I don't think Lisk will distribute coins to ICO holders. Iconomy wont do that for sure Smiley.

It seems to me, the real second phase of distribution will happen when those ICO whales actually dump  Smiley. Will it be before or after February - that is the question. Well, ok, if it happens after Feb, that will appear to be the third phase of distribution, not the second  Grin

The lisk dev said he would wait until after New Year before he decided what to do with his byteballs. I don't know about what the other devs said they would do.

I think the .Pl trading platform is so new and has such little volume, people are waiting for Polo to pick it out before they get excited and feel secure.

no other trading site yet? It's odd for a good coin like this.

It's new code. A reputable exchange should look at this extremely carefully, not to mention the fact, that they have to come up with some means of automatisation within their system. You can't expect that to happen over night. Additionally, I suspect that for the bigger exchanges, byteball was kinda flying under the radar, so they probably didn't check out the client during testnet, which means, if they decided to add it, they would look at the code just now.
Plus, to be honest, with polo, you aim too high right now. Get Bittrex on board, that would be a decent start.

Seriously, Diem... Why? Polo said they were going to ditch that piece of crap a few months ago and there it is, still listed.

I suspect they list coins based more o what they can turn a profit on over inspecting the code.

Bittrex would be nice though in the meantime agreed.

Byteball is definitely worthy of Poloniex.

Poloniex is unpredictable, it listed lisk at launch, took months to list decred, and still hasn't listed waves. It might list byteball tomorrow, or months away, or never. It can afford to be choosy now it's the biggest alt exchange. Byteball's worthy of it though.
