Do the Black bytes play any role in the distribution cycles or is it strictly the white byteballs?

You'll get 2.1111 blackbytes for every byte in your wallet at the time of the snapshot. But you must link your byte address in the transition bot.

What I meant was do you get anything for holding Blackbytes in your wallet at the time of distro?

Thanks,

No, you don't get anything for holding blackbytes.

Nope, only red bytes. Green bytes do affect integrity of the code, but they're not as immune to interference as yellow bytes.

It’s my belief that ease of use is the key to adoption of cryptocurrencies by regular users, and we continue to improve it in Byteball.  We already have quite a few services that work in easy to use and lightweight chat interface but, up until now, the chat window itself was not always easy to reach.  Now, chat got its own tab.

Byteball is the only crypto platform so far that has payment and communications functions intertwined, the two functions act together to strengthen each other and create more value than each function taken alone.

Upgrade to the new release 1.1.0 https://github.com/byteball/byteball/releases.
Major changes:
* Chat is now reachable through its own tab
* Added ability to select units for blackbytes, such as GBB for gigablackbytes
* When a new version is released, you'll be automatically notified
* When the hub changes its witness list, it will automatically suggest making similar change
* Better alignment, more polished UI (let me know if you notice any imperfections)
* A number of small bugs fixed

Simplicity is beauty

Thanks,

No, you don't get anything for holding blackbytes.

Sure, because there is no way to know how many black bytes do you have.

That's why its highly recommended to send all byteball (bytes) to the linked address in order to acquire more blackbytes in the next round of distribution.

If Byteballs are kept in the same wallet to which they were originally distributed and the BTC is sent to the same BTC address which was used for the 1st distribution is any further action required or will the 2nd distribution be performed as per the parameters of the 1st distribution?

Any further messaging with the Wallet bot required to participate in the 2nd distro?

Wonderful features, great dev and nice coin. Hope more services will be developed and to see bytes be used in more areas.

thanks for 1.1.0 and a feature request:

I like to keep my cryptocoin data directories on an encrypted drive, so it would be nice if byteball was flexible in where it puts it's data directory.
A start paramater like bitcoin's -datadir=... would be just fine for a start.

I am moving to version 1.1
If I do chat -> bot transition I do not have the message with BTC and BB linked.
I am obliged to click on the bot transition link on the site byteball.org to retrieve the message.
