Normally, your balances should update once you have recovered from your backup. There is a possibility that your address did simply not receive the blackbytes, this has happened in the past. Verify that your Byteball address was indeed linked (to a Bitcoin address) before the distribution, and if so, contact Tony, he is the only one who can resend the blackbytes.

However those outputs does not exist in the backup, and when I open the backup, airdrop bytes are updated without problem, but blackbytes are not shown. I guess something in the corrupted db must be merged into the backup but not sure which ones.

If I copy the db file byteball-light.sqlite from corrupted wallet directory into the backup, and open it, there is an error:

Looks like the problem is solved after I manually set user_version back to 18 by opening the db file in sqlitebrowser, execute: PRAGMA user_version=18, and save it.

WCG had 25 months to prepare for the EU GDPR and waited at the last moment to write their legal documents. While they lawyers are writting.... the API used by Tony to provide the daily reward, is closed.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.  As you've noticed, access to the APIs is now restricted to people who obtain a token. To get the token, you must first sign our Data Processing Agreement to ensure that you're willing to comply with certain requirements about how the API data must be processed. We are still finalizing the text of this Agreement and will email you as soon as it's ready.  We have just implemented the release which allows members to access their own API stats: https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=582183

Please note that volunteers now have the option of making their data private, which would exclude it from the API export files and by default, all new volunteers' data will be private. You may want to hold on to the latest export files you have, and once you gain access through the token, you can compare the data to figure out the currency distribution retroactively.

There are lots of users, especially Byteball signature participants complained about Cryptopia exchange's deposits.

Yes. When the bot will have access to stats again, it will take into account the points earned while stats were unavailable.

You haven't been reading the thread lately have you? It's been mentioned several times what the issue is.

It's all related to the European Union's GDPR ("Global Data Protection Regulation") that came into recently. As a result of this, the WCG is unable to release the API data to organisations that have not signed an agreement to operate within the bounds of the GDPR etc.

Unfortunately, the WCG were VERY slow... And didn't get their agreement set up (ie. Approved by lawyers etc) prior to the GDPR coming into effect... So there was literally no way for ANY organisation to actually sign the agreement!

The result of this is that, currently, the Byteball WCG team have no way to access the API to determine how much work has been completed by individual team members and therefore, how much they need to pay out.

Once WCG get their shit together... And allow the Byteball WCG team to sign an agreement... The Byteball team will once again be able to access the data (no doubt this will be dependent on the the individual team members "opting-in"). Once they have the data, they will be able to do the calculations and distribute bytes.

It's not a matter of Team Byteball not wanting to pay (or pay less often)... It's simply that they cannot access the data to work out how much to pay because WCG messed up.

TLDR; WCG messed up => No API data available for Team Byteball => no payments for participants.

It is so sad that nobody realizes the potential of Byteball, and most people go for the 'hyped' ICO coins which may or may not give out multiple folds of returns. Nobody realizes that Byteball had probably the fairest distribution in the history of the crypto world. I would very much like to see this succeed.

Byteball wallet in Bittrex has been under maintenance.
Hope that Bittrex will finish and enable transactions of Byteball in their platforms soon.

no worries, it is back to normal, deposits and withdrawals can be done again!
usually maintenance on bittrex is done in a timely fashion.

Byteball is interesting in features it enables but we should not forget its sins:

- the Byteball system is essentially a shared database between 12 witnesses and the rest of nodes
- it is a trusted system - you need to trust that witnesses behave honestly and are not colluding to form a cartel
- it is easily susceptible to hostile takeover. A rogue third party only needs to take control over 11 witnesses which is rather easy at government/court/police gunpoint
- for that reason the entire system can be shut down at any time
