Going back to my issue of 'rejects'.

1) I'm using MPBM.
2) Sending tens of thousands of shares to MaxBTC, MPBM report zero to 0.03% rejects. (Similar results previously seen with Ozcoin.)
3) MPBM is currently reporting 6.38%, 5.15% and 1.83%, to Eclipse us1, 2, 3 after about a hundred shares sent to each server
4) The Eclipse "My Workers" page currently shows xxx (0) for all three workers/servers where xxx == total number of shares submitted. I.e., what MPBM is counting as a 'rejected' share EMC is showing as valid.

So, it appears that I'm not seeing a 'true' higher reject rate with EMC than with other pools, but for whatever reason the mining software, MPBM, 'thinks' the pool has rejected shares. Which pretty much never happens on MaxBTC or Ozcoin.

Thoughts?

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Now to the topic of 'reliability'. Smiley

Glitch in progress.

Time for Inaba to go kick the servers again to solve their constipation.

None of my shares shown as submitted by the web server for a while and the top level GH/s rating for all three servers has plummeted.

I just kicked the servers.. .specifically US1 was behaving poorly, it should be working now.

The DC last night was suppose to deploy two more servers, but they are still not available to me.  They are suppose to be available today, and as soon as they are, I will move US2 and US3 over to those servers to lessen the load on everything, including the network.

With regards to 1diff and 10diff, no, only one server accepts one type of difficulty share, so you can't send a share from diff10.eclipsemc.com to us3.eclipsemc.com for example, it would just be rejected (and vice versa).

LazyOtto - let me get the new server(s) online and I will be curious as to see if the problem fixes itself.  The servers are pretty overloaded at the moment, but they should be relieved of the stress by the end of the day.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Oh, also, the emails are not diff10 aware, so they are not sending back the right hashrate.  They are doing a simple shares submitted / total shares calculation type of thing.

I will try to get that fixed asap.

When mining DGM will the payout portion turn green when you can get a payout without being penalized?

I have a couple new servers installed, they are downloading the block chain now and I need to do some reconfiguring.  I should have them online tonight and I will repoint one of the servers (probably US3) to that server at that time.  I'll post when it's complete.

Could you please elaborate? My understanding is that the difficulty of the hash for a share has to be equal to or above the share difficulty set by the server, in order for it to be accepted. So couldn't someone just send the shares that they mine with a diff of 1–9.9999 to the diff1 pool, then send shares with a diff of 10+ to the diff10 pool? Wouldn't that enable someone to get more than 100% credit for their work?

Unless I misunderstand the errors I believe CGMiner will show a reject reason as unknown work for submitting work to a server that didn't assign it to you.

I'm still working on the issue.  The !#@$@%#$%!%#@$ block chain is just fucking ridiculous.  Seriously.  I had forgotten what a joke it is.

There is no possible way bitcoin will ever take off in the mainstream simply due to the blockchain being completely, utterly and unequivocally unmanageable.  I even downloaded a pre-built block chain and it still takes hours upon hours on an 8 core system to catch the block chain up to the current state.  Seriously.  It's ridiculous.

In any case, things are almost done.  Because the other servers are so flaky, I am just going to do a hot swap of the IP addresses and miners should start repointing.  I will take US2 and US3 offline and repoint their hostnames to the new IPs.  If you stop getting work from US2 or US3, flush your DNS cache and try again.  Alternately, your systems should fail over gracefully after the DNS entry expires and your system picks up the new ones.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.
