A bitcoin bank is not what we need. In think the current online wallets like blockchain.info and coindesk server this cause.
Bitcoin is meant to be decentralized, and so it should be.
of course bitcoin supposed decentralization. but by using bitcoin bank. then decentralization will be lost because of the control and identity will be discovered when joining in bitcoin |

yeah, basically, we do not really need bitcoin bank. because we still have a wallet. where the wallet is much safer, freer, and better than bitcoin bank. so I think bitcoin bank will not be too necessary Recently, i often see discussion about Bitcoin Bank. More and more people come here and ask about bitcoin bank & surprisingly i see few user agree with this idea.
So, i would like to find out the percentage of user who agreed with this idea.
Honestly, i think this idea is stupid and worst idea that i've seen in my life. What do you think?
p.s. we don't talk about bitcoin debit card.
Xapo, Coinbase and Circle, they are all "bitcoin banks", if someone doesn't like them, they don't have to use them... I think yes! The idea was probably good and interesting for those people who use bitcoins and it will be good in terms of security. Because persons who has a lot bitcoin can be sure that their bitcoin is surely secured in banks than in online wallets. They will not be threatens because of scammers or hackers because their account is protected by an establishment. But the problem is that other goverments doesn't support bitcoins, they did not aware of this king of currency today. So there's a possibility that this idea will not be consider by others specially the goverment's.  |

If you see what that bitcoin controlling organization, many users will lose the benefits and will still be, bitcoin or maternity. So I think that bitcoin bank should not be allowed. |

Although there is no problem as such. The Bank goes on his own division, and not by force. But that is played bitcoin, this currency is self-sufficient. |

If a company/organization can ensure the security of the funds and offers a good interest rate than all other fiat based banks, I'd definitely support the idea and will deposit my coins to grow them securely. They'll need to put some gold and lands somewhere as a collateral though.

Well, it just recently comes to my mind. I think that online wallets just like blockchain.info and coinbase are basically worked like a bank, aren't they? They're making the bitcoin which people currently hold centralised by centralising it into their cold storage. And so far, there's no problem with it, probably people just not yet know about it or just don't care. Thing like bitcoin bank is actually already existed, the example is two above, but, without insurance and any fees. |

You cannot only expect the interest from those kind of organization. there is minimum balance, high fees and so on will apply them accordingly. I do not go with the bitcoin bank option. we have our own and we are making transactions via that. Even government or firms does not reach this technology yet. After blockchain updated its 2.0 version then there is more anonymity It might achieve other attackers to take more 25 years from now. |

I agree with you. bitcoin bank actually not so needed by users bitcoin because users prefer to use the wallet because it is safer and freedom. users more in need of faster transactions It's against one of the main reasons people use bitcoin. It gets rid of the power given to the people. Why would you use bitcoin then? Just use cash and your actual bank, which has the bonus of being banked and secured by your local government. |

And this is a serious argument Why is that necessarily bad for "end users"? No one is forcing you to use Bitcoin banks at a point of a gun, right? Bitcoin is all about choice as almost any Bitcoin supporter claims. Such banks would obviously add to the stack of choices available. The question is not only about some abstract banks. More specifically, the matter is about regular banks starting to accept Bitcoin, and that's a completely different thing. Once they start doing that, many merchants will surely follow the lead since having a bank account basically means you can pay from it buying a lot of things online. i can't fathom how this could be bad for your end users |

Why would I use bank for my bitcoins? I also think that this idea is stupid, and I don`t know how banks are planning to get into bitcoin community. That will be tricky for them, what can they offer to me (or us) to open bitcoin wallet in some bank, pay monthly account maintenance, what can they do for me, that I can`t do myself?
Only one thing fall on my mind and that is high saving rate. I opened some saving calculator and for example best bank in my country offer if I save in my currency 1 000 000 dinars for one year (that is 9 000 dollars) I can earn 90 000 dinars (850 dollars).
If I save in foreign currency, for example dollars, 10 000 dollars for one year will bring me 396 dollars. Which is joke, so how big interest they can offer for bitcoin to I be attracted to save my bitcoins in some bank?
Agreed, if there is a bitcoin bank this is nothing difference with an ordinary bank in the public. Once we entrust our bitcoin to them they're gonna use our bitcoin to lend it to other bitcoin users with prior interest. Then like what you said monthly maintenance requirement because if we didn't comply to their rules our balance to them will reduce. And that's what I don't want to be happen, so I don't agree with such crazy idea. |

In a way they are already bitcoin banks since they are storing a big amount of bitcoin that does not belong to them, the only thing they are lacking is offering interest rates for having your money there, but I have my doubts a bitcoin bank could offer such a thing. |

I think its useless because holding your bitcoin on just in your wallet does already generate interest and its much more compared to bank that will give. We all know banks does have small interest rates and what if our bitcoin would be store there does generate the same interest on local fiat? Then it would really be a disaster. |
