Looking for someone with a XFX R9 280x Black Edition with Elpida memory. I am getting 289 and want to see if anyone is able to get more with the same card. If anyone has a modded BIOS for it that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!
Could you share your xfx bios?
Are you wanting my bios export or just see what version I am using with GPU-z?

http://gpuz.techpowerup.com/17/03/02/454.png

Share your bios .rom

Here is a link to it: https://mega.nz/#!o9wW2L7a!gbkyuxgU591_p6x-7DJz_w2o67GB9zh3qTOQvqcjtuk
Just remember this is for the XFX R9 280x TDBD version so use at your own risk.

Hi, I also have a xfx 280x model and I would like to update this bios, can someone give me some tutorial on how to do this ?? Grateful.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1676474.0 this thred about 280x OC. What memory name of your xfx. This card bios has two sections of timings for elpida and hynix.
Elpida memory. I didn't see anything or XFX cards so a little hesitant to attempt those straps. I have no problem flashing bios but doing hex editing is a little outside of my comfort zone. If someone has a bios already with the memory straps that would be very helpful.

I uploaded v12.2 with fixed memory leak. So if you see memory leak, re-download v12.2.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

I run the new 12.2.

If I use it on the R9 Nano rigs only, the new 12.2 works fine at 400 H/s.

If I mix the R9 nano with R9 390, the new 12.2 works at 240 H/s for the R9 nano.

Both drivers are 16.3.2 as recommended.

Reduce intensity ("-i" option) if miner is unstable or if you see bad speed.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

Claymore,

Have you looked into using RadeonOpenCompute for the newer architectures?
https://radeonopencompute.github.io/

They have me working with it a bit for my high performance computing class (apparently AMD is giving up OpenCL and working on HCC/HIP instead).
It's compatible with GCN Assembler, and the ROCm driver might give you some nice performance benefits with HSA Atomics and such.

Hmm, doesn't seem stable (rig shuts off or freezes) on 3 X 390X rig and a rig with a 380x and 390x, the old versions worked better.

the older version [12.0] was more stabile on both 280x and 480x

i think there is still something wrong even though memory leak is fixed for now

Latest versions use more aggressive settings. You can use "-old" option, from OP:

-old   try to use "-old 1" if v12.0 works stable for you, but newer versions are unstable.

Please read Readme and FAQ in the first post of this thread before asking any questions, probably the answer is already there.

I am getting this when starting the miner.  Is it a problem or will it reduce hash rate?

AMD ADL library not found.

Also you recommend 16.12.2 for ploars cards on linux.  Where can we download that at?  I can't find anything on amd's site or google.

How much faster for Nano with -i 8 than -i 6?
