At this point, if they were willing to give refunds, I'd take it over waiting for my unit.

Yifu, want to save some work by not shipping mine?

I'll take your unit off your hands.

Yifu,  please send our units out Smiley

Does anybody know if customs charges importing fees on Avalons?  If so, what value would it be based on considering it was paid in BTC?

Can anybody who has received an Avalon in US or Canada comment on this?

This 40thash jump on network could be Avalons testing before sending to buyers.

600 x 68 ghash is somehow close to that.
Also person mining them is from HongKong. And miners are not full time online, it goes offline sometimes.
Maybe Yifu testing new products.

There are two new players finding a lot of blocks named "Made in China" and "七彩神仙鱼" which means "Discus Fish" and they both point to the same address.  Let's all hope this is Avalon testing our shiny new babies.

Three new miners in China, one around Shannxi Provice(?), and two around shenzhen-hongkong, and also a new big player in Japan.
Which one is ASICMINER?

https://blockchain.info/nodes-globe?series=topBlockRelay

My guess would be Hong Kong / Shenzhen,
AVALON ASIC Miners are made in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, PRC which is a 45 minute ferry ride from Hong Kong.

cheers,

From ASICMiner thread:
Quote
The wafer of the first half (100TH/s) of next batch is to be out of fab.
More than 4,000 USB devices are sold out in total.
The demand of blades are surprisingly long-lasting and still high.

Seems we going to be f*d up...

May the WinTame Power be with you!

No.  network hash is not 175TH. A large portion of the jump is variance.

Are there any orders from Feb. 2nd or 3rd still waiting for notification or delivery? It seems like most (all?) of these have been delivered...

A better estimate is is 120 Thps. Still a pretty big increase over the last week though.

I'll take your unit off your hands.

Yifu,  please send our units out Smiley

I have some interest.

Head on over to the "Goods" forum.  Someone will happily pay you the exact amount you paid.  They are going for over 100 BTC right now, so if you sell yours for what you paid for it, you will have your "refund" in a few hours.

personally, i feel it'd be irresponsible for me to resell something to someone else when i'm not sure if i will get my unit. i have a batch #1 in hand, so i know the avalons are real, but i would feel like a scammer if i sold my order to someone and yifu didn't ship my order out for a few more weeks/months. i'm also too lazy to reship a large package to someone  Grin (I'd rather gamble and wait it out)

for me to get my batch#2 order in, I needed to go through some HTTP gymnastics (as I'm sure others did as well). the only record yifu has of my order is is with walletbit. walletbit has confirmed, but who knows if yifu/avalon will manually pull my order into their system.  as much as i respect team avalon's technical prowess, their business and organizational skills are sketchy. from what i heard at bitcion2013, team avalon had both luck and the know-how to navigate the semi conductor industry in china. luck doesn't last forever...

I just realized I didn't have my phone number in the shipping info and I believe DHL requires a phone number. I updated my ticket with avalon with my number now so hopefully they can ship my box with no problems.

As you seem to have received your Avalon, does that mean you ticket was actually addressed and closed? Any feedback from opening the ticket?

Oh, I see.
With all that ASICs online variance can be that large.

The network hashrate variability as a percentage is fairly constant though - look at the network hashrate on a log scale, you'll get the idea.
